Napier Coaching Staff

So I Wikipediad Peagler and his back ground is pretty intereating. Very diverse. I'm guessing he was a TE when he played because his first job was coaching TE but most of his career until coaching RBs for MSU is all about offensive quality control. I think we worked with OL as well?

And he only worked worked with Billy for one year in 2018.

Was at Clemson with Billy as well

We have now added a director of player engagement and NIL.

unreal the support staff we're employing.

It makes me feel stupid because I've known Alabama to have this kind of stuff but just figured "well yeah that's Alabama" and here we are a month into the Napier regime doing all of these things.

Where in the world has this been for a decade?

It took Napier or somebody to push for it. It was one of his contingencies before he took the job. I give credit to UF and the UAA for saying “here you go” and finally getting with the times. I’ve heard that the 7.5M for coaching staff and 5M for off the field staff are just ball park figures and we could go higher.

Oh I remember that being the reason that Auburn backed off of him last year and hired Harsin. Which I completely believe. That's a meddling group of boosters if there ever was one.

Yep Auburn isn’t going to give up that much control, etc.

I know you are not a huge fan, but is there word out there it may not happen?
No I think Rumph is a very good position coach. I’m not sure he is “all in” to recruiting anymore. Also there is some talk he will stay in the NFL. Hence why I’m not sure he’s signed, sealed and delivered to UF yet.

Also hearing ST to be handled by an off-field analyst.

I’ll be honest, to me, that is a very “you aren’t in the SunBelt anymore” move. Bad idea imo
I actually like it and think it is pretty creative. You will have a guy spend his full time in practice, gameplanning, etc on the STs units and then when it comes to the games one of the on field coaches will handle it during the game. It means you won’t be taking a lot of time away from an on field coach away from his position group during practices. Now I’m curious who that off-field STs analysts will be however.

Not a done deal officially, but reputable sources are reporting the likelhood.

Damn what kind of payroll do we have?

What is the actual duties of all these people with the title of advisor or analyst by their name?

An off the field analyst can not coach on the field in any way. At best he can encourage

Um, no, that is what the advisor does. Advise. The analyst deals with data, metrics, all of that. But yes, none of them can be on the field coaching. Funny Tebow thought I was giving a smartass comment, when actually I was telling him exactly what they are going to be doing.

Just to give an idea of how deep and intense this huge staff is, we retained Paul Pasqualoni, who will spend much of his time as a “self-scout”. In other words he breaks down the Gators as an opposing coach would and finds the tendencies for the on-field staff can make the necessary corrections.

This is wild

Paco,

Didn't see Keiwan Ratliff, assistant director of player personnel, listed.

Realize incoming Head Coach has a right to hire his own staff for both on & off the field positions, but IMO this is a grievous error on Napier's part.

Definition of sycophant

: a servile self-seeking flatterer

Billy has imported everybody from his ULL support staff; his a**ss will be so puckered it will be painful to sit down

Only 2 of his support staff are holdovers -
Paul Pasqualoni
Vernell Brown

He’s cleaning house. Not many are going to stay. If they are being retained then they really impressed Napier in a short amount of time. I’m good with that because whatever was going on wasn’t working.

Agree. The new coach has to have the freedom to have the staff in place that he's confident in and comfortable with. Amazing the support staff he's built to bring our recruiting approach up to the standards of Georgia and Alabama. Not an overnight fix to the mess we're in, but he's building the infrastructure first, which badly needed done.

As much as I would love to jump on the “too much ULL” bandwagon, most of these people he is bringing are in positions that have never existed here before.

There are things Billy does/plans to do I am unsure of, the fact we have added so many positions is impressive.
