Mullen’s Mississippi state team 1st round picks

it’s interesting to see that Mullen’s previous team MSU had 3 first round picks selected in this 2019 NFL draft just as many as Alabama and Clemson and more than UG or any of UFs rivals . Mullen did an outstanding job coaching those lower level players
Yet we are told the talent at moo st can’t possibly be comparable to any if the top tier SEC teams. He had plenty of talent, just couldn’t win anything with it.

You’re being purposefully obtuse. This is one year, and on one side of the ball. Clemson, Bama and the like roll out multiple 1st round picks every year. The problem for teams like Mississippi St. is that their first 22 can compete with anybody, but teams like Bama, LSU, etc are much better from 22-85. And that lack of depth is why they lose.

Besides that nobody ever said he didn’t have any talent, just not near as much top to bottom as the teams he directly competed against. That isn’t even arguable if you look at the draft the past 3-4 years or even a decade if you want to go that far back.

Yep. Player development.

How many 1st rounders did Georgia have?

'First full class' LOL Guess they were 'too young' to get drafted this year.
This speaks Dumbass! There are rules that prohibit recruits that graduated from prep school in 2017 from entering the draft. No, I'm not defending Georgia, just reinforcing through your own words that you're a typical, unintelligent roll tider. Keep sidestepping, it looks good on you!

Kirby's first class was draft eligible this year.

I believe the nut licker said full class. Coach Mullen's first full class was his 2019 class. For those that know anything about football, the first full class is when the coach had a full 12 months to recruit his type of players.
I typed this slow in hopes you could understand it. If there was a way to write it in crayon , I would.

The nut licker indeed said full class. And the nut licker has also said that Mullen is a good coach. The nut licker however is not going to say Mullen is better than Kirby until he starts beating him. These guys hate it when I say that btw.

Yeah, the lifelong Florida fan gets you! :D:D:D

He's really pouring it on thick calling UGA fans nutlickers now. It only took other posters pointing out to the PhD that we could see his post history for him to switch it up. We're now convinced maktan is a UF fan. So simple!

You can put what you think and know on toilet paper, it will look the same as if I used the paper to wipe my ass. Your thoughts don't change reality.

So it is a myth that Mullen did more with less, in fact he actually did less with more. According to the draft, he had far more talent at State than he will put on the field this fall and he barely broke the top half of the division, including getting his rear handed to him in Athens where he kicked a FG in the closing seconds to avoid a shutout after running his mouth like he is at UF now. If he can somehow come out of Lexington and Columbia Mo with wins he might finish top half in the East again.

It’s obvious Mullen can flat out coach. Look at Franks before Mullen and look at him after just 1 year. Then look at Nick Fitzgerald with Mullen and again after Mullen. Both players did better with Mullen as their coach as opposed to the other guy. It’s obvious Mullen can develop players or can scheme around a players strength.

How many picks has Bama, A&M, Auburn, and LSU had the last 3-4 years? It dwarfs MSU. Bama had more picks in the first two rounds than MSU has had the last two years. MSU having 3-4 picks in one draft doesn’t suddenly mean they were some stacked squad. There’s 85 on scholarship. But as per usual you passive aggressive clowns look for any reason to take a dig at Mullen, no matter how silly you look while doing it. It’s one draft. Use some common sense.

It might mean Moorhead developed them where Mullen could not.

Yea, sure. Didn’t MSU’s offense and Fitgzerald’s performance just fall off a cliff? So the former QB coach who can’t even get his side of the ball to perform is responsible for developing some studs on the defensive side of the ball he didn’t recruit after 12 months.

Back to the common sense thing. According to the draft MSU had more talent than UF yet UF had a better season. How could that be if Mullen is a coach that does less with more? It’d be damn near impossible. But logic doesn’t matter when you’re just trying to talk shit I guess. It’s almost like 3 players don’t define a full roster. Who knew.

And Abrams was a 3-star filler. Sweat was a 2-star TE on this very site. So according to y’all they would just be more shitty recruits that prove Mullen can’t recruit. Which is it?

Mullen can’t recruit. The NFL sees potential in these guys and certain teams made the decision
to make an investment in them. Being a pro prospect doesn’t automatically mean you’re better than everyone else, it sometime means you have the potential to be. Case in point: Josh Jacobs vs Elijah Holyfield. We all know Jacobs is the better pro prospect, but Holyfield put up better numbers in the same conference. I’m sure there are more examples, but I’m a dawg so figured I’d be a homer.

So then that would mean that just because these guys were drafted high doesn’t mean they were excellent college players right? Polite had more production this year after barely seeing the field than Sweat did. Yet one went in the 1st round and the other was a 3rd round pick. And to your point Jacobs didn’t even start for Bama while the back who did still hasn’t been drafted yet.

Nope, just means that there may be better players being drafted behind them because the league doesn’t see potential based on size, speed, intelligence, etc. Riley Ridley got the lowest score ever on the wonderlic, but he’s going to be a hell of a steal in the late rounds.

The nfl doesn't see potential based on size and speed?

Get the **** out of here.

They literally have an entire event where all they do is measure that stuff.

Oh, and then they talk to them to see how smart they are.

You’re just here to argue. How about this: a lack of it...does that make sense to you? You know exactly what I meant.
