They still aren't very good. Richt is still very conservative. They haven't put a good team on the field since 2001. It's been that long since they have even been relevant on the national scene. They have yet to even play for an ACC championship. That is how bad it has been.

Richt is a very good recruiter. He will pull in some talent and do a better job coaching than his predecessor

Are you sure!? We were told it was the All Canes Conference.

Actually Miami was pretty good in 2002. They played in the NC game and also boat raced #6 gators in gainesville 41-16. They also were pretty good in 2003 when they went 11-2. Their problems started in 2004 once they started playing an ACC schedule. Been downhill ever since.

The ND-Miami game should be interesting. If Miami wins, Kelly is probably done, assuming he isn't already. I wouldn't be surprised if Navy takes them out, too.

That is funny. We are going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are being a bit snarky and are really not that stupid.

UM started going down hill because Butch Davis left, as did his recruiting. Plus impending NCAA doom and gloom. Yet another round of NCAA scandals exacerbated the situation even further. Remember, Miami was on a NCAA death watch list. Had the NCAA not fugged up their investigation so badly, Miami would have probably been given much more severe sanctions. Even so, the new coaches damped down UM's unique "You would not understand, it is a Cane thang" kind of aura dissipated and Miami did a nose dive.

Exactly. Their average star rating isn't very good. People on this board would go nuts with a rating like that.

Ok. 19 recruits, averaging 3.2 stars is "not very good." But 16 recruits at 3.5 (3.7 was a mistake) stars is "good." Got it.

Well yeah it is a pretty big margin. UF is 10th in the country in average star rating. I would say that is good. Miami is 23rd in the country in avg star rating and that is with Richt's supposed bump class. So no 23rd in the country isn't very good.

UF was 17th in the country last year in avg star rating and people on this board were not happy.

So yes 23rd in the country is not very good at all. Not if you want to compete for championships.

Back from a lon....g foreign trip, this post made it so much better. "Their problems started in 2004 once they started playing an ACC schedule" A much needed chuckle, feel much better now, thank you.

Their fan enthusiasm has certainly waned since their Pre FSU tailgating.

It's nice to get Miami out of the way.

I am really hoping Notre Dame beats them!
