Pretty sure we can brew sh!tty beer and make syrup without them.

So if they stop selling to those areas are they going to be okay with the loss of revenue?
China is about to FAFO. They already are so dependent on US purchases it's crazy. Will we pay higher prices in the short term? Yes, but we will be better off and manufacture and create more jobs here. The unintelligent can't see their face past their noses for the longer run.

This is spot on, and another reason it is very important that we win the White House after Trump’s term. We need eight maybe even 12 years to get this turned around.

I don’t see these tariffs having a long shelf life anyway. These countries like you point out cannot afford a long term loss of revenue. They have no better paying customers than the US and we are too much a huge part of their revenue.

The idea is not to have tariffs...it is to make these Countries DROP theirs against us.

It will never happen. I wonder if Alberta is a conservative province though. Isn't it mostly rural?
Looked it up

In all three elections, many of the Conservative candidates were elected with large majorities of the vote. Alberta has for decades been considered a conservative fortress, no matter which right-of-centre party they may have chosen to support.

I think Maine really needs to be up for discussion in possible trade talks as well.
Full disclosure: I loved vacationing there, especially the cheap price of lobster. So I took them off the table.

My fee for being the chief negotiator : King of a newly independent Prince Edward Island. I will double the ferries and get rid of the tolls for the bridge.
