KY game thread...

He shouldn't be telling the players anything. The players fought for each other and won the game in spite of his rookie mistakes. Him and Grantham sucked all game in every way from schemes to decision making. Embarrassing.

Completely disagree

During the timeout you coach your kids on what to do

He made a bad decision on the 2 pointer, and seemingly failed to tell the kids what to do if they run fir the first down. Big mistakes

Players slide to clinch games all the time, they also should know better

Overall, doubt Mullen makes those mistakes again. Go for two when down five after a score, but not that early

Here's my take - We got beat in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The play calling was not very good (again) and the defense was too passive. I will say that Kentucky had success in the first half against our blitzes with some very good screens, but we played a lot of zone seemingly because we couldn't cover their 2 big wideouts man to man. Kentucky's O-line is really good, though but don't you have to keep pressuring a back-up QB with very little game experience? All said, I feel bad for Franks, thrilled at Trask's composure and our guys never quit. They pulled out a win on the road in the SEC and we're 3-0, 1-0. All good for now.

I should have quoted the post I was responding to on the Franks comment

Didn’t just randomly post hope no one is happy he got hurt, it was a response

Tennessee next week

Practice them up

Pretty happy to be the worst team in America per so many, well, the worst team with a neutral site win over Miami and a road win at a KY team that was 12-3 in their last 15 games

And, bite my ass Kentucky

Unless I'm mistaken, we got more yards rushing on that final TD play, than the entire rest of the game combined.

All things considered, if we don't fix the running game, it doesn't matter who we have at QB or WR or whatever position, we won't live long in the SEC this year.

I am 45 now... Our winning streak now stands at 1. I am going to be 75 freaking years old before we get back to 31 wins in a row against KY. 75 years old...... I highly doubt I'll live to see it.

Plenty of meltdown threads on Wildcat Lair right now. After a tough loss like this it’s better to stay away. And yes, Stoops and OC Eddie Gran are getting roasted right now.
I know it's wishful thinking, but I sure hope UF causes another meltdown after UF plays UK in hoops this season. IMO, Kentucky is a very underrated team.

Stoops has done a tremendous job up there. Realistically you guys could have a four game winning streak. There was a time when I would see Kentucky and put up an automatic W. Now it's a tougher game than Tennessee.

Not punting on the 4th down when they could have put our new QB inside the 5 to start was huge. I knew it was a mistake when they did it and was delighted when we made them pay.

Stoops has been good. He made some questionable decisions tonight, but our coaches were down right brutal.

The Kentucky traffic has slowed down a bit. I guess they're shell shocked. Sorry inbreds, but you're getting your ass kicked in basketball this year too.

I dont know what hte f*ck they are celebrating that freshman kicker is the reason we get that

I hope there's no Gator fans over there showing their asses.

I went over there and I learned some things:

1) Refs love Florida
2) we were holding all night
3) someone isn't doing their job when your starting kicker is a freshman.

Personally I think we were lucky to get out of there with the W, and that Stoops has quietly been building a decent program. Also I was so terrified in the 4th quarter my drink got warm.

To be precise, evidently we were tackling their DT all game. But oh yes, we are beloved by the Refs. Tried to tell them we had a targeting call where we hit the guy in the chest, they didn't want to hear it.

The Trask TD run was “brutal.” What a “terrible” call...lol...
Honestly, if I were an opposing DC, I wouldn't have expected that. Trask is obviously slow and not the type of QB to run an offense made for Emory Jones and QB commit Anthony Richardson, but that was well executed.

This game also felt like the UK coaches and players prepped for this very game during the offseason as if last night was marked on their calendar all year.

Agree with all your critiques of Mullen, BUT you have to be fair and give him credit. His teams have played hard and never quit from the day he got here. He does deserve credit for that

Who called all of the “brutal” and “terrible” plays that Trask executed???...hmmm..

In fairness, that Ky defense was playing as soft as we were when we gave up the 3rd and forever against the goal line in the first half. And you will see that was the case when teams are more aggressive against Trask going forward. Most of those guys were uncovered

Yes genius stuff. He called a QB run from the 3 yard line. The same stupid predictable QB run that got stuffed when he was chasing points because bad math. Genius.

I was disappointed we didn't see Copeland last night. He could have opened things up in the running game. Another ugly win, but it's still nice to be undefeated. Go Gators!

Yea being undefeated is the only positive right now. We’ve played some terrible ball. But it’s better than a loss.
