Kentucky @ Florida game...

I wouldn't be surprised if Etienne breaks a big one on Kentucky. Watching his 2 big plays again that is football speed you can't teach which our other RBs don't have.

Kentucky missing its top RB with a poor OL. Before the season started I was 50/50 on this game but I have no doubt we take a L next weekend. Just hoping no players get hurt so maybe we can get it together over the next few weeks.

You never know until the fat lady sings but I do have a lot more confidence after watching your game. Trying to look at it objectively your O line definitely has some issues and the defense while looking decent doesn't remind me of last season's defense. Your QB and that one receiver looked pretty good when he did have a little time though.

Are you going to the game on Saturday? My wife and I are going to stop by the UF Engineering tailgate ~ 5 pm, and got my tickets in the visitors section.
I will be at the game. 4 of us are fishing Friday near Ft Myers and then heading up Saturday. Not sure what we’ll do for tailgating; was trying to talk BONG into showing up…. He’ll, I might try to Facebook message Gator56 or some other former board folk

Huge Kentucky game to determine what kind of season we have. Just looked at some of their game with Miami, OH. The good thing that stood out for them was kick returns as they returned a kickoff for a TD and were just short of a TD on a punt return.

They were struggling protecting the QB on passing downs and their QB seems to definitely have a #1 target so if we can lock that receiver down pretty good they might have issues. Maybe it was mostly 1st game jitters but KY didn't look as strong as they did last season to me.
And how did locking down Utah"s #1 target work out for us?

Not too well but this would be a totally different matchup as well. It would be a CB on a WR rather than a LB on a TE. Our LBs aren’t particularly great at pass coverage. With that being said a LBer did get an interception at the end of the game. Maybe Jason Marshall can shut down or slow down the UK WR?? He’s just a true freshmen but Devin Moore is going to be a very good CB for us.

Who was covering that guy most of the time? I didnt really catch who was usually covering him. Not sure how they move this guy around but with him being a WR maybe our top cover corner can slow him down a lot.

Edit: Just saw it was a LB he was usually abusing. Burney mostly but Miller I saw one time at least.

we have more than one WR that’ll be a threat. If Barion Brown catches one with space, it’s going to be a huge gain…..but, the OLine has to first do their job. Kinda hard to complete passes hen running for your life behind the LOS

Just looked that WR up from being on VT last season which wasn't a big passing team. He averaged around 50 yards a game and was their 2nd leading WR in yards. Not real tall. I like our chances to keep him in check some even though he did tear Miami, OH up.

Disagree...the Swamp is going to be rocking...coming off of a huge win where we were an underdog...after losing to KY last year, new coach and new hope...we're going to be on fire!
You may not realize this. As a Kentucky fan I’m proud that you all consider this coming week a big game and will be rocking. I love SEC football and am glad we are at least trying to be part of it.

I sure miss the days back in the early 2000's here when the UK fans claimed they don't follow UK football while waiting for the hoops season to begin.

Glad to be relevant in football for a change huh? Maybe Ashley Judd might show up for a game or two in Commonwealth Stadium.

They were heretics and sidewalk fans.....probably drank Zima and Jack Daniels
Sadly, if you go on Rupps Rafters you’ll encounter a fair number of BB only fans who care little about UK FB.

True FR Dane Key is going to be really good as well.

BTW - Section 18, row 14…. If needed want to try and meet up :)
We got our tickets through the UK ticket office - I assume in a block allotted to the visiting team. Our seats are in Section A Row 5; literally diagonally opposite of where you’ll be at.

I’d be happy to meet you but it doesn’t like very practical. Maybe in 2024? Or maybe at a UK home game sometime?

Yeah, I gotta go with this. I agree with Sad that normally it's tough to get up two weeks in a row, but this team has a chip on it's shoulder right now, plus it's only week 2, they've had all offseason to store up their energy. If this were, say, week #6 and #7, much much harder to keep a high intensity level.

I know we've only played one game, but this team seems unified with less "me, me, me" and more about "let's stay focused and have each other's back." They were dissed in the pre-season rankings and our coaching staff seems very attentive to detail, staying away from too many highs and lows. All this seems to indicate they will take it one game at a time and be as ready for KY as they were for Utah.

This week will say a lot about this team. I like Napier's attitude that we'll see how we respond with everyone patting us on the back. He's one game in but I like the calm realistic approach to 'let's forget the result and let's study the tape critically' or something like that.

A UK game is probably more likely.....I go to most of the home games. My tix are 8th row 206 (50 yd line), but I also often sit with friends in Sect 32. We tailgate in the middle of the Orange RV lot

PS it’s not hard to find me.....I’m generally the loudest MF’er in the section when we are on defense

Correct me if I'm wrong, but gatordad3 believes @sadgator gets a stiffy for Ashley Judd.

I got season tickets starting last season.... Section 222 Row 3 (west end zone). I had an Orange Lot pass last year, but didn't buy one this year to save some cash.... May go back to a parking pass in the future.
