I can think of at least 2 posters that don't want to hear this, but DeSantis owes a decent chunk of his popularity among pubs to his attachment to Trump. He never wins in 2018 without Trump's endorsement, and Trump has continued to speak highly of him, as his own popularity continues to soar.
Make no mistake, DeSantis would be VERY popular with pubs even if Trump wasn't in politics. But also make no mistake that no republican candidate has benefited more from glowing in Trump's shadow than Ron DeSantis has.
Did Trump also get him elected 3 times to the Congress, before he ran for Governor?
