Just 2 freaking years!!! What in the world happened?
Patric Young, Wilbekin and Prather graduated.
As far as our national "all sport" ranking, how hard do you think it is to bring in great: swimmers, track and field athletes, field hockey (?) players, etc..., as a very well-funded flagship university in a state with good academics, year round great weather and a large and growing population? Football, basketball and to a lesser extent baseball is where the competition is.
See FSU, Miami, UGA, LSU, UA, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Tx, as they all have similar advantages to those that you listed.
It's very easy in your mind apparently, for any Gator coach to being in great athletes.
No need to even recruit, they just take their pick among the ones that beg to be Gators.
Only question that bring up for me is; why don't we win NC's every year in all of those other sports?
Now, to confirm that, could you list the All Sport rankings for FSUcks, scUM over the last 32 years for us. I won't even ask about the other FL-D1's - USF, UCF, FL-Atl, and FL-Int, or all of those other schools with similar advantages....

Downplaying UF's 32 Consecutive Top 10 finishes for the All Sports Award is imo, doing a disservice to Foley and to all of the Gator coaches that are outside of the men's Big 3.
Also, UF is doing it with just 18 of the allowed 20 sports (10 men's & 10 women's) for the combined points total (8 men's & 10 women's).
Alabama -- Phootball Factory
Kentucky - B-Ball Factory
Vanderbilt - Private Academic Factory
Florida - The most total SEC-C's and the most Academic All Americans.
Planned maybe?
The easy way to get out of town is to go downhill in a hurry.
BillyD made it easy for himself to finally exit Gainesville for the NBA,
unlike the chit-storm that occurred when he tried to leave after his 2nd NC.
He really was tired of G'ville/College, and was ready to move on.
After that 2014-15 loser season, most Gator fans were ready to let him.
Note: Foley is an absolutely terrible AD. And that's why UF has the NCAA Record for Consecutive (32) years to finish in the Top 10 in the National All Sports rankings....
And since we're talking STUDENT/athletes at UF:
UF not only leads the SEC, they are in the Top-10 National rankings in Academic All-Americans.
You forgot about Walker and how bad that turned out. Foley has done a fantastic job as AD. Less than a decade ago we had 4 titles in FB and BB within 5 years. BB and FB in one year and that has not been duplicated. 99% of the other major colllegs have not even smelled our success in the 21 century. But with our fans it is what have you done latelyIt is true that we lost a special group of guys with the 2014 basketball team. But behind them Billy D had recruited some very highly-rated kids - Kasey Hill was a consensus 5 star McDonald's AA, Devin Robinson was a 4-5 star, Chiozza a solid 4 star and Francis-Ramirez a 4-5 star, plus he had a highly rated Finney-Smith transferring in from Va. Tech and Egbunu from USF. What appears to have happened is that this new crop was either overrated or they haven't gelled as a team the way the guys before them did. As for the other issue being discussed on this board, I, as a Gator alumni, am extremely proud of the job Jeremy Foley has done in running a highly ethical program while insisting on excellence from all of the programs. He was at the forefront of upgrading women's athletics and the fact that we are an elite school in regards to Academic All Americans as well as having one of the absolute best athletic programs in the nation year after year is a source of great pride. I understand that football is the engine that drives the train, but those other athletes put in just as much time and effort and they consistently represent the University of Florida in an exemplary manner. What has been done with our lacrosse program is truly amazing and the quality of our track & field, swimming & diving, tennis, gymnastics, baseball and softball teams should make all Gators very, very proud.
And just one year ago they were 16-17 with the same coach they were #1 with, so what's your point?Just 2 freaking years!!! What in the world happened?
