Jimbo was going to LSU

So it's Jimbo's fault that 2 of the 'Big 3' suck? What's he supposed to do, petition the NCAA, "I refuse to play these bottom dwellers until they get their crap together?"

When UF beats FSU when they were down it's a "6 game streak". However, when FSU dominates their rivals, it's excuse, excuse, excuse.

I love the scramble. LOL

90

No, but you could start by playing a non cupcake schedule.

I wonder if the Clemson board is riddled with noles debating their strengths and weaknesses next year? Hmmmm lets take a look....

While you're over there check and see if there is a thread called "Jimbo was going to LSU". If so let me know and I'll head that way.

For the noles touting the "11-1 record vs rivals" shows more truth than you realize. Anyone not think UM hasn't been a bottom feeder for quite some time, and of course we know where we have been the last few years. He caught his lightning in a bottle with jamie, ran thru weak ass schedules, and faced the weakest SEC champ in a long time to win his title. Now with UF rebuilding, and probably UM too under Richt, combined with a playoff system, his life on easy street is over.
Maybe Auburn shouldnt have been placed second n the BCS...how's that FSU's fault?

Wow, this thread is the epitome of delusio-noles. Cannot even except that reality that they greatly benefited from what should be their two toughest opponents had fallen off the map, leaving them with a schedule as strong as a wet paper towel.

That Auburn team would not have beaten any of the recent SEC NC teams, no way.

Is it really hard to see that when you go from a 2-3 game a year schedule to a 1-2 game schedule that have a few less losses? OK, don't believe it, it will make it even more enjoyable for us when your losses pile up.

Isn't it generally the case that one program is up while the others are down? When was the last time FSU, UF and Miami were all up at the same time? The early 2000s?

But I was mocked for saying it? It was a perfect storm for fsu...rivals down, they had their one very rare player, etc.

ONE? 30 Players to the NFL in 3 years is your idea of one player?
Again, I cannot speak for him, but our chortling of "four loss Fisher" while not numerically accurate, is more of an assertion that he is good for at least one and maybe two baffling losses a year. Without that ONE player.

LOL @ "4 loss Fisher". I always laugh when I see that on this board. Straight comedy

GaTech, GaTech, GaTech should count as three losses, by itself.

What "top 10" ten team loses to a shit team like GaTech?

I mean....really?

I'm going to tell you this and this is truly my honest opinion, that loss pissed me the hell off. It is the worst loss that I can ever remember in my lifetime as an FSU fan and I put the blame squarely on Jimbo. But that's a conversation for another day. That loss was absolutely awful and I told you on this board the only thing that could make me feel better would be to beat uf in the swamp for the third straight time. Well it didn't make me feel better and I'm still pissed about that loss. I love Jimbo but that loss is inexcusable.

Y'all make up your mind...is jamie that special once in a lifetime player that brought you a title, or was he really not that big a deal?

No, he is and was great. But he had plenty of help on both sides of the ball. Those players were recruited and coached by Jimbo.

And just because you have a great QB, it doesn't guarantee a National Championship. How many does Peyton or Luck have?

Straw man, who is arguing otherwise? Point remains, jimbo took advantage of very easy schedule, and a special player to win a lot of games, where otherwise he would drop a couple. That is all. Not that hard to understand. Maybe in the long run he will reverse that trend, but that is his career thus far.

Actually, according to what I've read on this board, this is a VERY incorrect statement. The argument is that Jimbo drops games to easy opponents that he should not. If he were in the Bestest Ole Conference this side of Texas, he'd being playing tougher opponents every.single.week; therefore, it's fair to assume he'd have done extremely well.

Ummm.....okay.....but doesn't have anything to do with the truth of what I said.

The truth is FSU won then and now. "Straw man", as so many of you like to point out, is making excuses for a lack of QB, or last years coach(very Obama like btw), refs, playing at noon, etc. UF was part of the schedule. A school like yours should never fall into the "easy" category for us as you are the flagship program of the state. You should wake up, run 11 guys out there, and curb stomp us according to so much of the boards logic.

We don't make excuses, we actually tend to say our team sucks more than they actually do....now you have gone from straw mam to projection. I think most of us predicted us getting our ass kicked by you this year, so another fail for you. If you really don't think jimbo took advantage of weak schedule and a special player, than you cannot be helped.

What about all the other losses to shitty teams? The NCState loss in 2012, for example? When 2013 and 2014 rolled around, you guys were all "Hey he has put those kind of losses behind him. He has grown up as a coach and stocked the roster with HIS players. (never mind that he had been a OC long enough to stock the offense with HIS players)."

Then GaTech. Same old Jimbo. It is his calling card. It is what he does.

Speaking of excuses, I love how that Auburn team we beat sux now. Never mind they ran through the SEC like a hot knife through butter. They sucked!

And before "lucky, not that good" comes up I'll remind you they were tied with Alabama and had a 3 TD lead on UGA before they made a comeback.

Not to mention putting 60+ points in the SECCG.

Until he doesn't, then it's because we had a "special" player.

We don't make excuses...

non-excuse comments from Gators on various game-day threads:

"I do think UF takes a 7-0 lead with Grier at QB. He doesn't miss that wide open Callaway in the 1st quarter"

"The last two TDs were garbage time. And if Grier was playing, the spread would probably have been in Florida's favor"

"The sad thing is FSU isn't that good. I hate to think how good we could be with a QB to go with this defense."

"These fracking officials. ACC officials."

"Treon Harris = FSU MVP 2 years in a row. Send that dude some flowers"

"We had more yards and more first downs than FSU going into the 4th quarter....if we had a competent QB we win that game"

Not an excuse, but my favorite "in game" comment (from shime)"I hate Fisher you bald loser whose wife left you despite your 5 million salary."

So quickly the holes forget we won 6 in a row against them... A streak that they will never live down.

Pfffft. Actually there are THREE 6 game winning streaks against the nulls and another 8 game winning streak. lol
