Once the path changed to the point that state and local governments started issuing mandatory evacuations to millions of Florida residents, that should have been the end to any game talk.

That it was still being discussed late into Thursday afternoon how the game could take place this weekend is embarrassing and an indication that sports has become way too important in our society.

A Florida-LSU game taking place, at any venue at any time of the day or night, should have been taken completely off the table earlier this week.

I know that those on here are mostly the super fan types who are concerned with how this impacts Florida's win/loss record, recruiting and SEC East Championship possibilities, but there has to be a human impact that has to factor in as well.

I will take a hit here as well.

I was looking at the track and thinking that the storm will be well past Gainesville by game time, the game can go on without taking the players or millions of other Floridians into consideration. We're putting together an Impact Analysis concentrating on how it impacts Florida football wise. We are as guilty as anyone. We forgot about what is important here.

Say right off the bat it was moved to Atlanta or Baton Rouge for a late Saturday kickoff, are we seriously going to ask current Florida player's who hail from areas that are going to be negatively effected by this huge storm on Thursday through Sunday, to put their fears and concerns for their families and friends to the side in order to concentrate on practice and a game?

How does that conversation even take place?

'Hey David Sharpe, I know Jacksonville's southside is scheduled to potentially get hit hard, but we really need you to focus on the task at hand. Put aside your family, home, etc... and try to focus on the LSU defensive ends. Thank you so much.'

16 of Florida's 22 starters arel from places that are under either in a Hurricane watch or Hurrincane warning area between Thursday-Saturday. I know the game must go on, but common sense and common decency should play a part at some point. Shouldn't it?
