How to tell if someone is a Republican, a Democrat, or just a Southerner.
Are you a Republican, a Democrat, or a Southerner? This little test will help you decide:
You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, a Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges at you…
You are carrying a Kimber 1911 chambered in .45 ACP, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat’s Answer:
Well, that’s not enough information to answer the question!
What is a Kimber 1911 and what does .45 ACP mean?
Does the man look poor or oppressed? Is he really a terrorist? Am I guilty of profiling?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the pistol have an appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he’d be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted?
Can we make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior?
I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.
This is all so confusing!

Daughter: “Nice grouping, Daddy!
Were those the Speer Gold Dots or Federal Premium hollow points?!”

Son: “Can I shoot the next one?!”
Wife: You are NOT taking that to a Taxidermist!” :D:D:D

I would not trust my life to a Kimber. My Glock 30S holds 10+1 too.

Well, If you can't shoot real straight, then a Glock is the correct answer for you... :D

Me and my SEAL buddy both agree that the Colt 1911.45 ACP is the original and it's still a great gun. (I own a WWII era model)
However, the Kimber is built with tighter specs, (zero shake rattle) and will still be solid and reliable after 30 years of hard use. (I own one of those also (SS) and I've never had a single jam or a misfire). I like having the 4 safeties too.

I shot the local SWAT commanders Glock 10 MM and did not like the feel. Can't say I've shot a Glock .45, but whatever works best for you.... ;)

Ive no problem with a 1911 in God's caliber. I just don't trust Kimber's QC.

By mating the G36 slide with the G30SF frame, Glock produced the most pleasant shooting ,45acp on the planet.

And a Glock has three safeties. Plus the only one you really need, your brain.

:D

Those were the 4 safeties that I was talking about,,, just wanted to see if anyone else was aware of them... ;)

Kimber has a stellar rep, so I don't need to defend them. But if you're curious...

I think that the Glock is a fine pistol, but it's fat double stack grip doesn't appeal to me.
And that goes for other double stack magazine models, unless they are on small calib. guns (.22-.25). IMO, flat pistols also conceal better, but as I've said, each to his own... :)

They had some notable quality control problems that they've since ironed out. I plan on getting one of their revolvers when they get to gen 2.

The SF frame trims 4mm off the frame. It was created for women and men with smaller hands. You should at least hold one, they aren't as thick as they were.

I have teetered on the edge of getting a Glock for a long while now.
I never could make up my mind on which model/calib. so I'm still looking/thinking about it.
I don't need one in .45 because I already have a Colt BS and a Kimber SS.

Ruger makes the best revolvers in the world. Their metallurgy makes the difference.
When NASA needs a special metal part made for space use, they go to Ruger to make it for therm.

Example, the .454 Casull Ruger has a 6 bullet cylinder, while S&W and others have a 5 for an approximately equal overall diameter cylinder. . The reason is that S&W needs a thicker space between the bullets to keep it from exploding when fired. Ruger's are so 'metal' strong that they can safely use a thinner spacing between the bullets. If you're going for lower power calibers, then other manufacturers are okay imo.
(a .45 ACP 230 gr. bullet has about 4.5 grains of powder, 830 fps, while a factory .454 Casull has about 22 grains of powder with a 340 gr bullet, 1500 fps)
