Along with the last 5 home openers. 2017 they opened at neutral site but also lost their first home game to NC State (original home opener was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma).
And only in 2017 due to last minute re-scheduling shenanigans to preserve the bowl streak (shattered by UF the next season), did they get to finish above .500 (barely).
Will recognize that it was against decent competition: Bama, VT, Boise, GT, ND.
Still, that’s not a good barometer for a program or something fans can hang their hat on.
