Gator Volleyball to Final 4!!!!!

Beat USC tonight 15-11 in the 5th set to earn the trip to Kansas City to play either Stanford or Texas in the national semifinals next Thursday night. The ladies didn't play that well tonight, with a lot of service errors and bad hits. But their toughness and grittiness won the day, as they came from behind to tie the match by winning the 4th set and then came back from a 9-5 deficit in the final set to pull it out. Fun, exciting team to watch and congratulations to the GREAT coach Mary Wise. Maybe this will be the year she finally gets a national championship to go with her 22 SEC titles and nearly 90% winning percentage. GOOOOO Gators!!!

Heck of a match. Switched over from the BBall game and ended up staying with it. It would be great if Mary could finally get a natty. She certainly deserves it.

Don't forget the semifinals tonight on ESPN. Nebraska vs. Penn St. at 7 pm, then the Gators vs. Stanford at approximately 9:30. Should be fun to watch.

UF vs. Nebraska for the national title Saturday night at 9 pm on ESPN2. Gators edged out Stanford 3-2, winning the 5th set 15-10. Nebraska took out #1 Penn St. 3-2.

This was a huge win, and unexpected. Volleyball is the one sport outside of football I want to see the Gators win a title in, because they’ve been really good for a long time but haven’t been able to get over the hump. Might have even won in 2015 without that atrocious call against Texas in the regional finals.

Even if they lose to Nebraska, I’m confident Mary will win one with Thayer Hall at some point coming in.

You're missing out sad. Volleyball is a fast moving sport that is really fun to watch. And the enthusiasm the girls have is much like in softball, only the game moves faster. The ladies who play for Florida LOVE Mary Wise and play hard for her. She deserves a national title. Hopefully this is the year.

I don't follow all 21 Gator sports closely. However, just like with the Olympics, I watch and support every Gator Sport when there is a Championship on the line.

The very BEST in every sport are worth watching in my experience.

I thought after the 3rd we were heading for a 5th but our Passing/Serving won us the game.

Great season, but last night was disappointing. Nebraska played a much cleaner match. Much better passing, much better defending. Our ladies made way too many miss hits, service errors and failure to put balls down that should have been easy kills. Nebraska deserves all the credit for being the better team.

Nebraska was the better team last night, we had a great season but played our worst last night, with the exception of the third set we were off and the Huskers were executing with precision and getting their key players, actually their key player involved, congrats to them, we will be back
