Watched the UF/Oklahoma game that started at Noon on ESPN. OK's stars played well and they won 65-60. Hayes was abused on the defensive end the entire game. Slow to react, acts like he's half asleep. Hudson is supposed to be all-SEC and he played terribly - 4 points, 2 turnovers, 0 rebounds.. Allen was been average at best, 10 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, but 0-2 from the free throw line and missed a 3-pointer and a layup in the last minute. Stone played pretty well in spite of the missed free throws - 10 points, 7 rebounds, 0 turnovers. Ballard disappeared, not scoring and not playing much. Okuru didn't play much either and didn't score. Stokes didn't play at all. Free throw shooting horrible - 3/11 for the game, Stone 0-4, Nembhard 1-3 including the front end of a 1-1 with 1:40 left and us down 3. Bassett was great and should be starting ahead of Hayes, IMO. He had 14 points on 6/8 shooting including 2-2 from 3, plus 4 rebounds. Locke needs more playing time, as he scored 9 going 3-6 from the 3-point line. He can flat out shoot. There is no excuse for this collection of players to look as bad as they've looked this early in the season. The young guys are playing harder and better than the more experienced guys. We made 11 3's today, but still couldn't win because our go-to guys didn't make it happen. Nembhard is going to be a star, but he's not a scorer and is not nearly the defender as Chiozza. Tomorrow we play the loser of Stanford/Wisconsin. Oh boy.
