Florida/UK

Florida was not aggressive in the paint. End of story. You get left shooting outside only and you are cold, you lose....that simple. This is about Egbuno being out and Hayes is a poor man's substitute. UF is going to struggle when there is a physical opponent inside without Egbuno.

and you lost by 22 when the court was different colors, i wonder if egbunu just made a 32 point swing.. we could have had kareem out there today and had no chance with those officials... They would beat the Lakers and have people believing a group of "gritty tough unreal effort" beat an NBA team in that waste of a gym. It's reality, and it's a tragedy how pathetic it works in that joke sport.

We beat them soundly in the O'Dome (by 25) and while I know this is a huge challenge, I'm hoping our defense and experience will still be better than their talent and youthfulness. Guards need to play smart, guys have to hit their share of 3's and the team defense needs to make them uncomfortable while crashing the boards like we did at home. The way the refs call the game could be a key and KY always gets the advantage there, just like Bama in football.

Kentucky always gets the advantage, you mean like when your football team won the game after time ran out a few years ago. Also Florida will never beat Kentucky like that in basketball again and you know it. If Fox had of played today we would have won by 20.

A 3 man advantage not enough for yiu?

Florida's offense starts with their defense. Hard to get going defensively with the other team standing at the foul line. Also tough to create off the bounce when your best drivers have early foul trouble

Florida won by 22 like that because they are a better team, and uk could never beat UF like that because they are not the better team. Florida against them on a neutral court i know where my money will be away from that blue court.

Bam had a field day today. He wouldn't have had 15 boards if we had Egbunu. Hayes just isn't physical enough. We couldn't get any good looks inside today and not much in transition either.

Fox being out made zero difference, in fact it was a built in advantage for the refs to ensure they took all 3 of ours away as a certainty because of it and force them not to be able to breath in the arena without being put on the bench. Any and every game in that arena is a complete and total waste of time

Just imagine what Florida would do to kentucky with a 21 point advantage from the FT line, it would be even worse than the first game, and anyone with knowledge of the sport knows it's a fact. People on social media were literally laughing at the officials along with the players on the floor on both teams from the bullshit taking place... to only win by 10 from it lol

The Gators are a better team and today made it even more honest from people that know what they are watching

Where is the transition going to come from when every single possession the home team is getting a trip to the line no matter what? Again the officials know exactly what they are doing to create the perfect oncoming avalanche with everyone combined in that arena by the end of the 2nd half. Even competing with that type of disadvantage just shows how good the team on the road really is.

We got outrebounded 48-30, a huge swing from the 1st game. We took 71 shots from the field (30 3's) and only shot 36.6%. They only too 53 shots (14 3's), but made 45%. Hayes only had 4 points & 4 rebounds, Barry 3 points and 1 rebound, Robinson was 3-13 from the field, Hill 2-10. We only had 6 turnovers to their 16 and they outscored us from the free throw line 22-4. The defense got shredded the 2nd half and they cut way down on their turnovers from the 1st half. We settled for too many jump shots and didn't drive the lane much at all. They drove it at us a lot, thus they got fouled more. I give KY more credit for outplaying us instead of blaming it on the refs. That's, of course, just my opinion.

You cant risk driving when youre in foul trouble. Hayes struggled to stay in the game with 3 fouls. Monk got hot and when ky went cold the refs put them on the libe

Cats got the whistle today, but we knew that would happen. Monk going for 30 in the 2nd half didn't help either.

Cant be too upset, we played them close on their home court although having a -18 margin in freebie points.

well we are ALWAYS going to have a career day on us from ONE guy as always for one night only, that's never anything new or unusual.. They have NEVER hit that many threes in any and all the games iv'e watched them play COMBINED

Oh good. We get to be lectured about basketball by a fan of a team that has close to zero accomplishments in basketball.

well gator fans you will get your chance in nashville see u there

we already crushed uks balls by 22, we don't need any chances.. what you will need is good luck the rest of the season away from that building, and as usual... your youngins will be scared to death away from there and the base will be having mental break downs very soon because Cal has no idea what he's doing with that group and they can't save his stomping strategy.

This team just needs to regroup and make the finals of the SEC tournament or win it and that should secure a 3 seed for the tournament. Winning the regular season SEC is pretty much out the door now even if UK lost due to the tiebreaker. A 3 seed would be a big accomplishment after what was expected early.

Like this team's chances in the SEC tournament on a neutral floor. This season has surpassed expectations.

I think Fox being out did turn out to be a kind of an advantage, because it forced them to play half court, which is a better game for them against us. In Gainesville, he played pretty well running up and down the court, but we ran them out of the gym. We just got destroyed by Bam and Monk. Hill was terrible. I think the missed layups in the first half zapped his brain. There were possessions in the second half where he was literally standing to the side while 4 guys ran offense. Chiozza, Allen and Drob were the only guys playing.

Yep I like our chances in the SEC tournament also. We need to make sure there is no hangover from this loss because Arkansas and Vandy both need wins against us to help their tournament chances. At the very minimum we need to split our last 2 games protecting home court and then make the finals of the SEC tournament. That should assure us a 4 seed I would think.

how could that happen to s senior

What are the tiebreakers? Have we ever won a tiebreaker? I remember the year we won the SEC but had to play the first day because it was a 5 way tie and of course, we finished 5th (we still had 12 teams then).

Not having Big E definitely hurt. Haven't seen the final stats but seemed like we missed at least a dozen uncontested 3's (well before it became garbage time) and even more short jump shots. That's leaving around 20 points out there making a decent percentage of them and bad shooting effects defense big time.
Dat wuz ugly.

If we would have had Egbunu, he would have gotten 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes, and picked up his 3rd 30 seconds into the second half. This is what the refs do when they want to get a guy out. Seen it happen to us over and over and over...

We did? I certainly don't remember that. So the game clock expired and we won the game after that?

Oh wait, no, you mean the PLAY clock expired. Well, if that would have been called, it would have meant we backed up five yards and tried again. Not quite the same thing.

Only problem is, it didn't expire. We hiked it right before it went to :00. You are timing it to the QB pulling out from center, but the Center only has to start the ball moving to make it within the play clock time.

Stick to basketball, you don't know jack shit about football.

Oh, and one other thing. I do SO enjoy it when a Kittykat fan says "you'll never do that again". I remember when we went to the final four for the first time and Kittykats said "they'll never do it again". Yet here we stand, now with a pair of titles and two other final four appearances as well. So if you honestly think Florida will never beat UK by 20+ points again, well, then you are just a fool.

Like many others, I knew what was coming in the kensucky Rip-arena with the SEC excuse for game officials. I didn't bother to watch the game as me and my better half went to the park for a picnic instead. Last night I watched the recording on speed advance until about 5 minutes left in the game, and then I dumped the rest as un-watchable BS.

For the season, UF has committed 541 personal fouls, kensucky has committed 619.
But the SEC excuse for officials called 22 PF's against UF, but only 13 on kensucky.
I can't imagine that even the kensucky homers think that game was fairly called, nor do they mind at all that it wasn't... o_O
BTW, that was the fewest fouls called against a UF opponent ALL SEASON!
My stat source for the called fouls was the official Gator site.

Did anyone else notice that mouth-running Cal-Cheat was constantly way out past he white line and even on the playing floor, as he whined and sniveled at the idiot officials throughout the game. According to him, his players never shoulder down charge and they never block the other teams drives either. His guys have yet to commit a single foul in a game.

He is a joke for a coach imo. Take away his 8 Mickey-D 5 stars and he wouldn't even make the Dance. Put him and Satan at middle of the pack teams and you'd see what kind of coaches they both really are.... o_O
Unlike Spurrier and BillyD, those two are cheat supported chumps imo.

The regular season only matters to me in that it can get my team into the Big Dance. That is already accomplished, so I'm on cruise-control until then.

This is the SEC tiebreaker:
  1. Won-lost results of head-to-head competition between the two teams.
  2. Won-lost record of the two teams versus the No. 1 seed (and proceeding through the No. 14 seed, if necessary).
  3. Coin flip by the Commissioner.
So the way I see it, if we win out, and UK loses, all we need is for Arky and USC to tie for third place, because Arky beat USC, and so would be the third seed, and we would be 2-0 against Arky and UK would only be 1-0 vs them, so we would win the tiebreaker.

But that's only for seeding. If we end up tied, we are co-champs regardless of tiebreaker.

they were on their board calling us a flash in the pan still when they said he need to stop shitting the bed in the SEC and the conference tournament and tourney... So i listed everything we have done in the last 9 years and from 2000, nothing they could say... because in reality Florida has been carrying the SEC and had more success than anyone in the conference and even most blue bloods in that time...

...."better team"....?? You guys lost at home.... to VANDY. You're going to get ran in Nashville as well... The SEC Tournament is basically played in Rupp Arena- South.

After barely winning with the biggest disparity of years in FT's, kentucky fans believe it again. They "figured" it out

We finally lose a game, and move up a spot in the rankings lol.. when we only moved up 2 spots each week for obliterating teams on a 9 game win streak. That's the beauty of losing to blue bloods...

we acc now
