Florida to be the next national champion from the state...

I have no ammo to use against FSU at this time. You guys have been the better program for five years. A National Title, playoff appearence, Peach and Orange Bowl victories and a Heisman winner. We have blowout losses to Alabama, FSU and Michigan.

We blew out Iowa last year, so yeah you have owned us. You have better talent and better QB depth. I fully admit these things, I have to take victories where they come. Getting a caliber QB like Jones is a victory and it tells me Mullen isn't a bad recruiter. I know he is a good gameday coach by what he did at MSU. Give this man equal talent to the rest of the SEC and I see big things.

So yeah I am a little excited.

Even though I have Chip Kelly enshried in my home I can honestly say I could not be more onboard with Mullen. Almost to the point I would say I think we ended up with the right coach. I just can’t get over how much Florida is his ‘dream job’ and he embraces everything Gator

When we were chasing Chip Kelly I was very excited, I felt he was the only really elite coach available.

I still feel that way, but now, knowing he really wanted to be on the West Coast, I'm just as glad he went out there. Wouldn't have done us much good for him to have been here 2-3 years, and hating it, then bolt for USC or whomever. We would look like a stepping stone school like FSU (Yes, that was a dig. Yes, I enjoyed making it.)

With Mullen, we have a real shot at having things rolling in 5 years with a coach who wants to be here.

You do remember that Franks was a 5*? Which debunks your entire argument seeing as Jones is a 4*.
Yes and I remember lots and lots and lots of gators posting he was the second coming. But alas.... He just throws to the other team more.

This is called......deflection.

Taggart put a lot of energy into trying to get Jones. Yes, he was late to the party. But it is still a Mullen win.
Not deflection just facts. Jones was going to be a gator. However, that Taggart got a visit was good for Taggart. By rights, Jones shouldn't have sniffed FSU based on the facts you were presented earlier. It was less a win for Mullen and more a hold on something he already had.

Nobody can hardly believe that Mullen pulled Jones to UF...it was an awesome job from Mullen. These Nulls will be eating ass again soon with Mullen on our sidelines. Just wait...all that 'talent' isn't going to help the Trailorhassee crew for long.
We've heard this before...twice in fact... Coach Boom then the Swamp Donkey.

Funny, and here I thought Jones first committed to OSU. And was pursued heavily by Alabama. In fact, Florida, before we hired Mullen, never even showed any interest in the guy.

But those are just facts.

As an aside, if you want to stick around with your betters, learn some protocol. We require rivals to capitalize our name

The lamest of lame crap.

"Hey, Taggart got a quality visit with a good recruit committed to another program. Therefore Taggart is AWWWWWSOOMMMME!"

No you didn't because when Champ was hired we had been whipping your a$$ 6 years in a row...why would we be calling a come back on the rivalry? We wouldn't and didn't...nobody was happy about Butter Teeth getting hired.

Go back to your board Null!

Mullen has been recruiting Jones for 3 years.

Huh? This makes no sense at all. Hold on to something he already had? How’s that? The kid was committed and had been committed to Ohio State for just about the entire year. He had been flirting with Bama and many people thought that is where Jones was going to end up. UF wasn’t even on EJ’s radar the entire year until Mullen and Brian Johnson showed up. Yes Mullen had a prior relationship with Jones but make no mistake about it that was a BIG recruiting win for Mullen. To say otherwise would be completely unfair to Mullen to be honest.

Uh....yeah he was going to play for Meyer and OSU...know a program that wins and is in the top almost ever year...Mullen pulled their star QB recruit. Nobody knows how Mullen will ultimately do but when you try and belittle a big move you end up sounding like a Seminole fan.

Your facts are fuzzy. Mullen knew Jones back early in HS. Do you read much?

No actually Jimbo had drubbed your boy Herban bad the year before Chomp came and gave him a mental breakdown. Herban saw the writing on the wall and got the heck out of dodge. You also said the Swamp Donkey would revitalize your offense. LOL

First of all several recruits flipped from OSU to other scholls based on their little mess up there and worries if Urban would stick around. Mullen knew and recruited this kid in HS and had him solid. The fact that Taggart got him to visit speaks well to Willie's recruiting chops. More to come.

I might of hoped that he would do his job but he didn't...outside of that I wasn't campaigning for Jim MacElwain...you're talking out of your ass.

that nole likes to make stuff up.

Success has a thousand fathers and failure is an orphan! ROFL
So you are an orphan then? I don't think GatorNation will adopt you but you can keep trying.

I would ask the several good Nole fans where you were banned from but I think I know.

Assuming I fall into the good catagory.... Banned from WC for calling out publishers for poaching material from another site I was paying for. Deserved the banning. Shady "journalism" by WC. Been roughly 8-9 years.

It was a major get, but so not act like FSU was the major competitor. We have Francios coming back, Blackman who started all year and 4 Star Hockman who redshirted.

Would you rather be in that mix or yours?
Just a couple of thoughts ZZ. It’s going to be interesting as you have two or possibly three qb’s who believes they should be the man. The qb depth could (not will) be weakened by at least one transfer and history says that will more than likely happen. As well, Fields was heavily recruited by both UF and FSU. Aside from stories that said he was not happy with FSU’s negative recruiting, Fields specifically recommended that Jones would be better served by choosing UF.
P.S. If you have been paying close attention, which appears to be the case, you would know that our talent is there -we are just very young. Having said that, you and my opinions are irrelevant. I am very much looking forward to the future as I know you are. Go Gators!

Last time Mullen ran the show we were so deep we had Cam Newton on the bench.
Sit back & enjoy all the Bama & UGA smack, you'll have a good shot at punching both in the mouth very soon.

I 100% agree our last staff negatively recruited Fields. In fact I believe that the bulk of TAMU’s offer had already been delivered to Jimbo after the first couple of games. Jimbo got lazy, recruited poorly and basically shut everything down.

Now, looking at it as a business decision, Jones made the better choice. We do have 3 QB’s on the roster. Fields gave sound advice.

Ps. We also are young, we had 9 scholarship seniors and so far 2 underclassmen leaving.

And yes while we can do nothing but talk, we both look forward to the future.

Good on ya sir.

And had gotten nowhere. Until he came to Florida. Then he flipped him in a week.

A harbinger of things to come.

My opinion is EJ was a good get for Mullen.
