I have to admit, I agree and he said it the other day...first test is this recruiting class. I'm just ready to see a well put together offense and some type of game scheme be executed.Making projections about titles is a little premature...
But what he says about Mullen is true...dude develops teams and potential...
So, so glad he is our coach...
We haven’t even played a game, but it just feels so right...

Wasn't Emory supposed to be a Nole? Taggart is an elite recruiter and Mullen sucks on that front.Get real. Your roster is crapola.
Jones was NEVER going to be a Nole. He has been recruited by Mullen since what....14? Plus look at our depth chart and look at yours. If he can’t come in and start next year then Jones was overrated.
Meh, chill. Freshmen play earlier and earlier these days but even some of the elite QB's the past few years either redshirted or were down the depth chart their freshman year. Sometimes if the QB is the future some coaches will sit him even if he's the best they got to make sure they play in the most favorable situation possible.
So his official to Tallahassee was pointless? Taggart struck out on Fields and tried to get Jones. If there wasn't any mutual interest that visit wouldn't have happened.
Jones chose Florida because of his comfort with Mullen and the reputation he has at developing QBs. This was a major get for Mullen, don't downplay that.
I'm not trashing Taggart either, he is a great recruiter. Mullen deserves credit though.
Elite guys aren't afraid of competition. They have a confidence that matches their talent level. Jones was not scared of Blackmon just like Fields wasnt afraid of Fromm. It was a major get, but so not act like FSU was the major competitor. We have Francios coming back, Blackman who started all year and 4 Star Hockman who redshirted.
Would you rather be in that mix or yours?
Florida being elite won't make an astronomical difference. It will just be. Taggart, Saban and Meyer wanted this guy and Mullen got him.Other than Jones, your QB roster is hot garbage. And no he was never coming to FSU, nor was Fields. Mullen is good, congrats. But don't act like the universe just tilted on it axis.
FWIW Franks was not a 5*. At least on Rivals he wasn't. On Rivals Emory Jones was rated higher than Franks. You do remember that Franks was a 5*? Which debunks your entire argument seeing as Jones is a 4*.

While I agree you are correct on sitting someone. That was a statement about your depth chart rather than Jones ability.

It really is awesome...when Mullen was hired I was so let down by Chip Kelly going to UCLA... and I thought that I was headed for depression...now seeing CK at the bowl game the other night...and seeing the excitement that Mullen is bringing to the program...not to mention the well thought out explanations from a Head Ball Coach that you want to see...I'm happy as hell that we landed Mullen. out making REAL moves in recruiting and he has an awesome personality. I know that we're only like 4 weeks in but I agree, we did make the right hire.Even though I have Chip Kelly enshried in my home I can honestly say I could not be more onboard with Mullen. Almost to the point I would say I think we ended up with the right coach. I just can’t get over how much Florida is his ‘dream job’ and he embraces everything Gator
Nobody can hardly believe that Mullen pulled Jones to UF...it was an awesome job from Mullen. These Nulls will be eating ass again soon with Mullen on our sidelines. Just wait...all that 'talent' isn't going to help the Trailorhassee crew for long. This is called......deflection.
Taggart put a lot of energy into trying to get Jones. Yes, he was late to the party. But it is still a Mullen win.

I think what has me most excited was the narrative on Mullen was “we know he can coach but can he recruit the talent he needs at UF”. Well now that he IS recruiting the talent it seems like this could be a pretty dangerous combo. Combine that with Willie not bringing Mario or Leavitt and I think we are sitting in pretty good shape right now.
I’m ok without Mario if we get Frey. And this is looking like reality.
Now I have to see who the DC is before I get all giddy and stuff........but knowing me I never get giddy.
BTW, this is a pretty decent article written over a week ago where most of you seem to be getting your information;

Jameis Winston agrees with you. That said, I am not sure we have a EJ Manuel on the roster that Jones is competing with. On the other hand, for all his faults, Jimbo generally gets the most from that position. As it turned out, EJ was a good college QB. But not much of a pro. He probably owes some of his signing bonus to Jimbo.
On that note...
I am really looking forward to see what, if anything, Mullen can do with Franks. Or any of the other two QBs not named Jones

For the first time in a long time, sadgator is not worried about “talent” on our roster (which, by the way, everybody assumed at the beginning of the 2017 year was good). Mullen can coach them up....as he did at MSU. Something tells sadgstor that Mullen isn’t interested in making excuses based on perceived “lesser” talent...and that is exactly the way it should be.
As of now, there's no EJ Manuel for sure but I still wouldn't doubt if it takes a few games before Jones takes over, if he even does. Mullen even brought along Dak slowly and the QB they had at the time wasn't good at all.
Unless we get a transfer or something we likely see Franks again with Jones in certain packages until he's ready.
Time will tell. I don't think that Franks has the mental part down but then again he hasn't had a very good coach either. In fairness, When I found out Mullen was your new coach, I felt Franks fit in pretty well.
