Florida up by 3 with 4 minutes left in the first half. The whole team is playing relatively well.

After leading by 4 at the half, Miami has opened up with seven straight points. In what is bcoming a troublesome habit, we have gone cold on offense

Stone with a monster game with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Chiozza with 4 assists. Three in the half

Very good win over a very decent team.

Both Hill and Chiozza had good PG play. If they play like that consistently, this can be a very good team.

Just when you think he can't play, he comes through to help beat the scUM. chomp

PG Kasey Hill 16 pts
PF Keith Stone 15 pts, 8 Rbs
Team had 11 Blks, Egbunu 4, Robinson 3.
Full stats up by tomorrow.

If Kasey Hill can play like this we'll win a lot of games. Barry was way off today, but Keith Stone had his coming out party. Egbunu lets his emotions get the best of him sometimes, but he is a tenacious defender. Beating Seton Hall & Miami and losing a close game to Gonzaga was a solid weekend.

we finally beat miami in any sport

if hill and stone can do that to you I can't remotely take your team seriously or think you are close to good

This is a nice sign. I love it when we can have a fun and successful basketball season to fall back on. I hope the new coach can pick it up in recruiting. Maybe find some nude pics of him also. That never hurts.

We've played some quality opponents so far. I saw where Belmont beat #23 Rhode Island over the weekend. Belmont, St. Bonny, Seton Hall, Miami, Florida Gulf Coast and Mercer are all decent wins. We've got Duke and a very good FSU team coming up in the next few days.

Great win. Bad offensive games from Allen, Egbunu and Barry and we still came back and won.

As Mike White said: if kasey hill has a good weekend, we'll have a good weekend. He did and we did.

I think we have the athletes to match up pretty well with Duke. Problem is that Egbunu will pick up his second foul, setting a screen or something, about three minutes into the game and they'll be in the double bonus eight minutes into both halves.

In every game, some will get hot and some will go cold. The hope is that the hot one's will continue to get open to shoot, and that the cold one's will continue to get the hot hands the ball, and play the 'killer-D' role until they are the hot hands again. TEAM!
rsFr Stone said as much in the post game, "we're family."

Wow! Makes we wonder in amazement how the Gators are 6-1 so far, only losing by 5 pts to a Top 10 team, in all 7 AWAY games...

Not that good of a win...UM is picked to finish at or near last in the ACC due to all the seniors on last year's team.

Go Canes!

I bet they finish much better than that....your coach is good and those young kids will continue to develop.

In the opening weeks of Mike White's 2nd season, the now #24 Gators have already served notice that they deserve to be back in the national conversation. UF has posted its 6-1 record while playing a schedule that KenPom.com rates the fourth-toughest to date among power-conference teams, even before a neutral-site meeting with Duke and a trip to FSU.

Tol-ja, so does Foley get any credit for this hire?

He will when we are dancing in the Sweet 16.

Heck, why stop there? If he doesn't go B-2-B NC in his 2nd and 3rd years, then he's no good and should be shown the door...

The sarcasm aside, the Sweet 16 this year is a reasonable hope/expectation imo.
Baring a severe rash of injuries or off the court problems, the Big Dance is virtually a sure thing. After that, it's a one & done situation where even a 16 seed can show you the door if you have a cold shooting game...

I think the SOS ranking is #30th in the nation overall. That is still pretty good.

The P-5 designation is not nearly as meaningful in basketball as it is football. A LOT of small schools have very good basketball programs. The national champions from last years is just one such example.

Loose quotes from me and coach Izzo through the years:

You have to be good enough to make it to the Sweet 16.
Then you have to be consistent enough to make the Final Four.
After that, you need to be LUCKY enough to win the NC.

Once you're in the Big Dance, you just need to go 6-0 to be the NC.
Or you can be One & Done with the best team in the nation if you go cold shooting.

Isaiah Stokes (Jarnell little brother) signed with Florida for the 2017 class. 6' 8" and goes about 280. His older brother was a good player for UT. Isaiah chose Florida over Iowa St, UT Vols, Memphis & TCU.
