Florida Heads to Arkansas and Boston in the Final Stretch Before Indoor Postseason

The Tyson Invitational running events will be streamed on SEC Network +



GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Gators Track and Field teams will split up this week, sending athletes to both Fayetteville, Arkansas and Boston, Massachusetts this week. 44 athletes will compete at the Tyson Invitational which will take place over Friday and Saturday. This is the 11th consecutive year the Gators have competed at an indoor event in Fayetteville and the third year in a row the Gators have taken part in the Tyson Invitational. While the majority of the team travels to Arkansas, Imogen Barrett, Gabrielle Wilkinson, Vasileia Spyrou, and Parker Valby will head to Boston to take part in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational



Through the first three competitions of the season, the Gators have achieved 27 new personal bests, three facility records, and 18 event titles. Most recently, the team sent runners to the Razorback Invitational and the Alachua County Collegiate Invitational. At the Razorback Invitational, the Gators earned event titles in the women's long jump (Jasmine Moore), men's 60m (Pjai Austin), and the men's 4x400. Florida has won the women's long jump and the men's 4x400 titles at all meets this year that they have fielded a team in the events.



In Gainesville at the Alachua County Collegiate Invitational, the Gators were led by Emily Culley who won both the women's mile and 1000m, running a personal best and facility record in the 1000m. Reed Legg who will be participating in the Tyson Invitational, was the other Gator to win an event at the meet, taking first in the men's 3000m.



TYSON INVITATIONAL MEET INFORMATION (all times Eastern)



The first event Friday will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET with Jalen Chance and Jordan McCants taking part in the men's long jump competition. Day one of the Tyson Invitational will include the men's and women's teams taking part in the long jump, 60m, 60m hurdles, and 400m. The men will also take part in the 3000m.



Day two begins at 12:00 p.m. ET and includes men and women in the high jump, shot put, triple jump, 800m, 200, and 4x400m relay. The men's team will also participate in the mile on Saturday.

Imogen Barrett, Gabrielle Wilkinson, Vasileia Spyrou, and Parker Valby head to Boston to take part in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. All four Gators will compete on Friday, with Barrett beginning the day in the women's 800m at 11:23 a.m. ET. Gabrielle Wilkinson will follow in the women's mile at 4:00 p.m. and Spyrou and Valby will complete the competition for Florida in the women's 3000m at 6:35 p.m.
