Damn that line is big. I bet that line would be like -3.5 or so if Wilson was playing.
Not that it may matter much, but it's great not seeing Bennie Snell gash thru our defense ever again. He killed us at least the last 2 seasons.
I hope you are right but their non-QB players look about as good overall to me except for the secondary being lost on a few plays.
When you beat a team 31 times in a row like we did KY, there's a tendency to get complacent and take the game somewhat for granted. No matter how much the coaches harped on "one game at a time" and the players said all the right things, I have to think the focus might not have been as sharp as it could have been. Plus we had escaped games in the recent past where KY outplayed us and should have won, but somehow we squeaked out the W. So I think there will be a little bit of revenge factor in the Gators' mindsets this year, the focus will be sharper and I expect UF to really get after it and win fairly easily. That's my hope anyway.
Different coaches and time, I agree with what you're saying...I dont see it but that's the whole point I'm saying...we win....better talent and coaching. The OLD streak is past and means nothing about the game that's going down Saturday.

Stranger things have happened. If Willie T has another year like last year, Mark Stoops could make an excellent replacement.
The only question would be his perception of the two programs. IMO, it's more than SEC vs ACC.

Recruiting - UK vs FSU; how many 4* & 5* players in your backyard - Florida & SW Georgia versus Kentucky and Indiana ? Traveling extra distance to recruit takes more time, more staff, and more money.
Salary - how mundane, football both as a player and as a coach should be about the love of the game - right ?
FWIW - FSU paid Willie T $5 MM; Stoops "only" got $4,013,600. In a bidding war for Stoops, what would FSU pay ? Realize they have to get past Willie T's buyout, but FSU can find the money; if not this year then next!

There had BETTER be some revenge factor with the team this year. If they cannot get motivated at the sheer and utter embarrassment of the 2018 result, then I don't think there is any way at all that you can motivate them.
Personally I'm HOPING to see the kind of statement of effort I saw in 2008 from the team against UGLY over the loss in 2007 where the buttsniffers all ran onto the field after the first touchdown to sniff each other's butts on national television. Urban Meyer calling those 2 timeouts at the end of the game was one of the best comebacks I have ever seen. That's the kind of motivation I want to see, and hopefully these players have been using the 2018 disaster as fuel for the past 365 days to prepare for this.

Actually I read an article today that says the FSU offense is one of the better ones in the country right now. At least by the numbers put up. Something like it's in the 20's or some such? It's the defense which is well into the 100's ranked for FBS schools which seems to be killing them.

Our first half offense is good. Our entire yr defense blows chunks. Dannygator could start at any of the 11 positions and it would probably be an upgrade

I doubt Stoops leaves UK. They'll even surpass any offer from FSU. I see Dino Babers is on their list but I believe FSU will ultimately end up getting Mark Richt out of retirement.

My mom had been laughing about the article where Taggart claimed they were possibly dehydrated in that first loss of the season, and I had to point out that in all honesty, even though it's an excuse, it most likely is true. How else do you explain a team jumping out to such a big lead, 31-19 when I had seen the score in the 2nd quarter, and then by the 2nd half, completely shutting down as well as letting the opposing team all of a sudden start scoring at will. Having a majority of your team dehydrated and suffering fatigue as a result can quite clearly explain a complete collapse such as that and they were playing in the high heat of the afternoon in the first game. Call it bad offseason conditioning if you will, but this is a very valid possibility as to what happened. How else do you explain FSU scoring 31 points to start and then just hitting a wall?
I was watching Mark Richt on the ACC telecast of our game with Miami and he has not aged well. He's slow and tired. He's literally just a year or two away from the physical fragility that Bobby Bowden was when he was fired at FSU.
I think Mark Richt is going to stay retired and stay in South Florida.
Stoops would be one of the best hires for any program. The good news is that there will be multiple openings after this season for real programs and they will almost certainly be able to pay more than what f$u can if they buy out willie. And as mentioned, even UK can outspend them now. They’ll have to make a mcelwain level hire, and those rarely work out. They have to hope willie can turn it around, but honestly, with Clemson rolling and Miami on the way back, maybe they can’t tilt the playing field like they were able to before. Let’s be honest... the 2013 thing was a fluke. So much so that I’m pretty sure someone sold their soul to the devil. I mean, look at how it played out... They were supposed to be title contenders in 2012, and disappeared. Their staff all left for better jobs. Hell, jimbo almost took the West Virginia job. we whipped them in their own house in 2012, and looked to be even better, and then we had a freakish amount of injuries the next year. They got a historically weak schedule, and even the better teams played uncharacteristically bad against them. They got every break... and I mean every break... every fumble, every bounce, every buried legal case... everything. And just like with any deal with the devil, there are consequences... their “title” is tainted, the reputation of the school and the program, as bad as it has always been, is now damaged even further. If the place was a serious long term contender, why did the coach who benefitted from all of this leave? They got their I’ll gained glory, and it actually damaged them, and now they’re paying the price. If there are no other souls they can sell, then it is very possible they will never be a contender again. Clemson now is better than they ever were, bc the acc, while not great, is so much better than it was in the 90s, and Clemson is dominating it. The plan they hatched when they ran to the acc initially is no longer viable. They are no longer the big fish in the toilet bowl, and I’m not sure what they literally have to sell kids anymore. It was the easy way to glory. Now they can only sell a couple embarrassing beat downs a year and a half empty stadium that’s mostly full of opposing fans. Last season, and last week, was no fluke. They have always been a third rate program willing to cheat, lie and steal for relevance. The chickens have finally come home to roost. Stoops or anyone else would be dumb to go there.
They should rehire bowden and just keep rolling his bloated rotting corpse out there if he ever dies... which he may not. Demons are immortal, right?
