Fan for 30+ years, finally making my first visit to The Swamp this weekend for the game and a college visit for my son, bringing my whole family.

Any advice, tips, must-do things while we are there?

Thanks!

I haven’t been for a long long time. But the swamp is an awesome building. Should be nice and live for you. Only place I used to hang out that is still around it looks like is Lillian’s Music Store, which is a tremendous bar pre or post game.

Midtown > downtown at night.

Bars close at 2 but stop taking drink orders around 130am.

Stay out of Munegins after 1130pm.

If you are doing a college tour…

You’ll want to park as close as you can to campus to the west off of University. Pay to park in somebody’s yard price $20 to $50 the closer you get. You can try to park on campus, but you kind of have to know what you are doing and how to time it.

Walk up University Ave. Then walk the heart of campus through the Plaza of the Americas, around Century Tower, through the Science Library and French Fries, down the Reitz Union lawn to the Reitz Union. Inside of the Reitz Union, you will find the campus bookstore which is full of all the Gator Gear you could ever want.

sadgator always enjoys walking around the fan fest outside of the O’Dome (Exactech Arena) where you can pick up some small goodies.

Hit the bars or restaurants on University, and you will have a full afternoon.

Have fun.

That sums it up nicely. We get there stupid early because a good spot adds a lot to the day.
Agree. If you are brave/early enough to park on campus, there are a vast many cool areas to park and tailgate. That is preferable to parking off campus. You just have to have a plan of where you want to be. No charge and it does make it fun.

Also, if you time it right and have never seen it, the Gator Walk is something you should plan to attend.

Thanks for the tips, definitely want to check out the Gator Walk
