There are 5.8,5.9 and 6.0 four stars - that is where some of the difference comes from sometimes plus where players individually add up to inside those ratings at any star level. Not sure the exact formula how they do it.

At least Sanders didn’t fall for Sir Bowlcut’s bull crap lies and end up transferring after one season like Eason and Fields did. Kirby Shart is full of shiet.

I typed that real slow, so maybe it could sink in the 2nd time around... o_O

It doesn't just go by that - you know that. Maybe we can drop all our 3 stars so we can say we have one of the the highest star averages in the country also. :D

They are saying we are in his final 4 tonight supposedly.

Bama must still be kicking the low producers off the team looking at their class. They had a class of 29 in 2017.

So which players are we still in the running to get? Black, Bogle, Elam, Steele, Bell. Is that it and what are our chances of getting any of them? I've read Elam is pretty solid, Steele is 50/50 with us & USC, Bell is 50/50 between us & Auburn, Black is 100% committed but just not signing today and from what I've read Bogle is Miami's to lose. Any new info on these guys or others?

I would lean against us getting Bogle but its possible I guess. Black is a grades issue I guess. Hopefully he gets that taken care of. My guess is we will get Elam but Steele I don't really have any prediction myself on that. I have no idea on Bell.

Miami just lost Jarren Williams as well. What a disaster at Miami. I’d love to know what the Miami fans are saying.

Next year may be Richt’s last.

If FSU is a trainwreck again next season we might just take this state back in recruiting next class. Miami is going to be in big trouble also it looks like.

Article is really good and points out that although we aren't getting the high end 4star-5stars...Mullen is killing it in terms of roster management. If we add a DT, SDE, the 2 cb's and a S - this is a perfect class in terms of the team framework.

Also why the number of blue chippers we're getting in may be as/more important than the total points of the class.

With 20 signed, I'd be happy with the committed LB Black getting his academics squared away, then add Elam, Steele and 1 DT, plus 1 DE to get to 25.

I get the frustration with no getting the studs that Bama and UGA are reeling in. We can call speculate that Saban has some money bags as well as Kirby but its all speculation until someone busts them.

With that being said, Mullen is doing an amazing job at roster management to build quality depth because hes building for the future. 2020 and 2021 classes in my opinion will indicate what the future holds for us as far as landing the big fish. Mullen has already reeled in some studs for both classes so far.

The other thing that I love that hes doing is building relationships with certain highschool pipelines. Lakeland, Ocala Vanguard, IMG (along with everyone else in the country), down south and even into California. Hes building relationships and respect. What he did with Franks this year was nothing short of a miracle. Recruits see that! What he did for our offensive production and play calling was nothing short of a miracle! Recruits see that! It will take some time for the 2020 class to come into full focus but Mullen is doing it the right way. He has my full support and I feel way better about the way hes recruiting the needs not just talent early on.

We still have a realistic shot to sign Chris Steele (5 star CB out of California),Kaiir Elam (highly rate 4 star/Top 50 recruit), Khris Bogle, Nathan Pickering to name a few. Either get on the bandwagon now or stay off!

Our Big Boosters need to up their game possibly. When is the last time one of our new recruits was showing off a new flashy ride like these Bama and Georgia recruits.

Get that crap out of here! Mullen isn’t going to go to those levels to get guys and he shouldn’t. Tebow, Harvin, Spikes, Haden, Nelson, Neal, Black etc came to this University because they wanted to wear orange and blue and win a championship. I will take kids who are passionate and loyal to the university over some kid who’s looking for a handout.

It’s all about development when it comes to high school players. There are so many kids who have raw talent and potential but may be ranked super low because lack of exposure etc. Jachai Polite was ranked 741st in the country (3⭐️ For those who care about those) and he’s likely a first round draft pick. Mullen has been known for that during his time at Miss State but he will be able to recruit better at Florida which you can look at the 2020 and 2021 class already and see that.

Mullen said it best, ask me in 2-3 years about how good recruiting is. You never truly know what you have until you start developing them and they get in real games.

lol I wish that was all there was to it. It went on at Miss State a little but they only get a few people that way unlike Bama and Georgia. The coaches are separated from it.

Yeah and Miss State competed with Bama on a regular basis when Mullen was there. He will recruit better at Florida in the long run than he did at Miss State.

There are plenty of kids who just simply don’t measure up to the expectations. Bryan Cowart 5⭐️ Number 1 overall) Driskel (5⭐️bad coaching? Maybe), John Brantley (5⭐️). Heck you could even throw in Jacob Eason who was more touted than Fromm and you can see how that turned out. It remains to be seen how Eason does at Washington.

But it’s all about development and schemes etc.

Not really. AL and Uga also know how to develop kids. We don't have a monopoly on that.

Obviously they do my point is Mullen recruits guys based on his criteria and what fits his scheme. Chip Kelly for example never had great classes at Oregon but he was very successful. Stanford, ND, Washington etc. Mullen is a good enough coach to understand what skill sets fit what he’s trying to do.

Mullen really talked about JaMarkis Weston yesterday in his PC. He seems something in that kid.

Its about both but obviously some teams are getting a little extra help when you see what is shown on social media now.

We won't be winning the East a lot unless the gap is decreased a lot with Georgia in recruiting. I could care less what the money people are doing when it is clearly going on elsewhere. Heck the Cam Newton case showed as long as you don't talk they can't do crap no matter the amount. All they have to do is give the money to a non-parent relative and have it where it doesn't trace back to the booster and magically that relative gets the kid a new sporty ride. They can even do it by the relative technically taking a loan out while the money for paying it off is provided. Now its so bad the poor parents are approved for "loans" many times they would have never got otherwise to get the stuff for them.

It seems like half of Bama's big time recruits are riding around in fancy rides while our recruits are getting busted for credit card fraud to buy funyons etc.

Don't feed me this mess Mullen is some angel either. He wants to win like all of them and they just keep them out of the loop. Mullen was the coach who let a 5 Star recruit back on the team after it was shown on tape that he pounded a female all over the pavement.
