Which of the many reasons will he be impeached?

All things equal I agree with your premise that his replacement is awful. However, this is politics and there are a couple reasons he will be impeached.

A VP has never officially been subject to an impeachment I think. I think they changed the rules when Clinton was impeached but prior to that I think the VP technically would preside over impeachment proceedings against themselves.
