It is not just Corrupt China Puppet Joe, as I understand they (China) own 3/4 of Congress also.

Now you see why dems were so desperate to end Trump's trade war.

Because it was working. Too well. Dems were in danger of losing their money train from Beijing.

It's simply not possible...unless people just stop buying most stuff in general. That seems unlikely.

Beat me to it, this country is hooked on cheap stuff with easy money snd easy credit. Not my cup of tea but it's not changing anytime soon.

No quick fixes. They will not work. The solutions will be hard, seemingly impossible, and will require fantastic effort and innovation. Success won't be cheap or even guaranteed...nor should it be.

It's an impossible gamble...and in that way, unambiguously American in its undertaking.

It’s a fair article on China’s weakness but two things that should supplement this discussion 1. China’s energy dependence is also another huge weakness for them. They are entirely dependent on Russia and imported energy from other countries. That’s important from a State Department perspective and through the military lens. 2. The American core of resolve is our biggest weakness and the history of that lack of resolve is getting worse.

1. Unfortunately, partisan politics has caused a tug of war in this country on who is worse off for us, China or Russia. Neither are good for us and both have a common enemy.. us. I get sickened when I watch either of these countries get a pass from partisan politicians. Both seemingly are not taken seriously enough unless it’s for theatrical campaign quotes. But these countries are tied at the hip and it’s more than just commie red and gold state colors. Allowing Russia to expand its oil exports has several layers of bad juju not least of which is ultimately getting more natural resources into China.

2. Our populace is full of sell outs who would sell their children for that sweet Yuan. We also have zero resolve, patience, or fortitude if we get into any type of military campaign. We too often hear our generals, politicians, and “experts” talk about how hollow China’s military is. How we have this huge technological edge. Excuse the F out of me, but China and the rest of the world has watched us whiff in damn near every campaign we’ve fought following the Battle of the Bulge (Gulf War being the exception). While we may have some of the bravest MFers in uniform they do not have the proper leadership in DC (suits or senior uniforms). We’ve got 70+ years of incompetence against opponents we’ve outnumbered and outclassed on the battlefield. The playbook against us has been perfected and our playbook has remained the same and a majority of that blood and blame is at the feet of the career politicians in DC. If we do get into it with China (go back to the original article and the resource discussion in point #1 as potential reasons) we had better fight to win. And “win” has to be clearly defined by the shit for brain suit wearers.

There is no easy answer on China. Any pain we inflict on them economically will cause pain throughout the world. And they’re not going to just sit back and take it. Our resolve, whether it’s economically or militarily, will need to be better than we’ve shown the past few generations. Conflict with China will hit the homefront and there won’t be living memories of what that’s like to walk us through it.

Bottom line: We cannot continue to half ass efforts against our adversaries.
