The change of heart in the subject line isn't meant as a play on words. I was told by someone who was there, that while on the plane, sitting on the tarmac gathering to leave for New Orleans, Urban Meyer addressed the team once again.

He told them that offensive coordinator Steve Addazio will be the interim head coach.

Meyer gave them what could potentially be even bigger news. Meyer told the team that he is having a hard time walking away from the players, the program and the University of Florida.

He told the players he plans on taking some time away to look after his health, but he couldn't just walk away and leave this team to anyone.

The NY Times reported last night, that in an effort to keep Meyer, UF offered to give him a couple of months of personal time away from coaching.

Could that be in the works?

Stay tuned for more when the team lands in the Big Easy.

2:30 Update: It has now been confirmed by GBN that what we heard earlier was indeed correct. Urban Meyer will remain the head coach of the Florida Gators, but will step aside for an undetermined amount of time while he works on getting completely healthy.
