Chance of Zaire playing for the Gators?

I guess if we "bleached" you maybe we could take you seriously.
Oh...wait...numbers is white.
But we're all alcoholics so...
Oh, no, only i drink...
Well, then obviously we're gay.
I have a one year old daughter.
Damnit, how can Insta be wrong though?

Then stop wasting time with me?

I don't know...that would make sense, if that's what you really want.

By now, we should all be at least familiar with:
LDR *** Franks **** Trask *** & Ath/QB-DT Toney ***

By Class seniority, this is not a depth chart...
1. LDR rsJr
2. Franks rsFr
3. Trask rsFr
4. Sproles rsFr W-O
5. Toney Fr EE
6. Allen Fr
============

2013 #3 QB-DT Malik Zaire 6-1 210 **** - Kettering, OH (had 12 offers)
Freshman redshirt.
2014 rsFr Can't win starting job.
2015 Beat out the Goldbrich who xferred to FSU
Fractured his ankle vs Va, 9-12-15, out for season. Kizer takes over.
So much for the dual threat...In his 3 years at ND, he's had 3 starts.
2016 Kizer keeps the starter job.
Zaire Graduates, not projected as the 2017 starter, Grad-xfer.

2017 ??? -- TX - Wis - Harvard -- not UF :confused:

IF Mc-Nuss could teach Zaire the system in 3 months, in time to start the 2017 season, then why can't they teach it to Toney in 8 months, or to Franks and Trask in 20 months? IF those 3 QB's are to stupid or untalented to learn it, then why the heck are they even on the roster? o_O
==========

2013 #33 QB-PP Luke Del Rio 6-1 211 *** (future great coach)
ColoSt offer, Originally an OkSt commit, OreSt offer, eventual W-O to Alabama.
2014 OC Nussmeier to Mich, X-fer to OreSt - played in 3 games, no starts.
2015 ColoSt Mc to UF, hires OC Nuss, LDR xfer to UF and redshirts.
2016 Starter, injured, starter, injured....
2017 Rehab during Spring from 2 shoulder surgery's, ???.

===========

2016 QB-PP Nick Sproles 6-2 203 ** - Winter Park, FL - Walk-on (also B-Ball PG)
HS - 14 Gms, 170 of 274, 62% for 2,341 yds, 13.8 yds/att, 19 TD, 8 Int (5 rush TD's) Looked okay in the debut... ;)
============

QB-DT Malik Zaire is a 'head-case' QB-DT neutered lame loser that doesn't fit the system. If Mc-Nuss brings him in, I will have lost all faith in their ability to recruit and/or coach-up their QB's. And if they do bring Zaire in, watch what happens to their 2018 QB recruiting,,, and maybe a flood of xfer outs... :oops: (I would)
================

JMOHO's as always: One of these 5 QB's, or some combination of any of the 5, should be the QB('s) for the 2017 season, no excuses! Franks - Trask - Sproles - Toney - Allen. Otherwise, McElwain and Nussmeier should both have their paychecks cut in half. o_O

* And I will burn half of my Gator gear in a pyre in the front yard... :cool: (fan rant complete)

Moving right along....

Hand and ball position during throw. - No 180' twist of the ball is required in his delivery. He's now in school and working out with the team and the other QB's. Four (4) months to game time.

bilde

He threw for 2,311 yards and 27 TD's, with only 7 Int's, in his senior season.
In the Raiders’ 45-6 win over Tampa Plant in the state 6A title game last December, Allen threw for 329 yards and 5 TD's in just 3 quarters. He had his team so far ahead that 2-3 quarters is usually all he played in his HS games, keeping his yards and TD's artificially low (3 star) compared to HS QB's that played their entire games.

Franks - Trask - Allen, plus super Wildcat QB Toney are all UF needs for 2017.
Zaire needs to look elsewhere for a spot,,, cause he ain't needed at UF.
===================

And this kid looks like he'd be a great get as the 2018 QB. I like the kid from Orlando, but I wouldn't be unhappy with Sterling-Cole. He's got a cannon for an arm and very good accuracy, fitting the ball into some tight holes in his highlight film. Real quick delivery too.

I went from 6-0 132 to 6-1 160 over a very short time period at that age, and I didn't even know what a roid or PED was back then.... :cool:

Nasty insinuations are an ugly thing to do to a kid. IF you have some real info, then spit it out,,, otherwise... :mad:

I hope Allen ends up pretty good. His tape doesn't really stick out a lot however and he struggled a little when facing equivalent talent on defense. He has time to get better and maybe be a good one.

WTF???

How did he do when facing the USA Today #1 HS team in the Nation (Bishop Gorman), in their house in Las Vegas?

[The Gaels (5-0), winners of 7 consecutive Nevada state titles and the last 2 HS National Championships, hold the ranking the STA Raiders owned throughout the preseason. Now ranked #7 by MaxPreps, St. Thomas (3-1) refuses to fold.]
http://www.bggaelsfootball.com/ -- HS NC's 2014-15-16 <<----<<<<<
STA 24 - 25 BG -- The rest of BG's undefeated season were 2+ TD's wins.

How did he do against perennial power-house Tampa Plant HS in the 6A State Championship game? (STA 45 - 6) and he only played 3 quarters.
Allen threw for 329 yards and 5 TD's.

And are you saying that South Florida STA HS has a chump 6A schedule?

Like the other Gator roster QB's, he's already pretty good. I hope that one or all of them can become great QB's, and maybe Championship QB's....

I just saw him play some southern FL team and he struggled some when things weren't easy and in his last playoff game (I think it was his final HS game anyway) he wasn't making any great touch throws etc. and it mostly seemed to be the talent around him in that game. Not saying he won't turn out alright but he didn't really stick out in his high school tape I thought and got a lot of easier type completions due to the talent around him.

Have you seen him lately?

Ummm his last playoff game was the Florida High School State Championship game where he had a very good game and they won. Are you sure you even know what game you were watching?

I don't know if Allen is going to be a good college QB or not. He's had his ups and downs but many of his downs is when he was playing through and just coming back from a very serious back injury.

In Jake Allen's final playoff game Allen closed his career with five-touchdown performance and a second Class 7A state championship victory.

Didn't know about the back injury. I watched much of that playoff game. Point out the nice touch throws when the receivers had decent/good coverage on them. Receivers being really open doesn't tell you much. What did he do when they weren't? The team he is on is really talented. I am not saying he doesn't have potential but I see why Rivals had him a 3 star despite that team's success.

Edit: Watched his highlights from the game and it was the game I thought it was for the championship. That team was really overmatched they were playing. He did throw 2 of those TDs with some nice touch on them but also got away with some poor throws that could have been picked. He did show some nice pocket presence which is good for a young QB.

And your point is what exactly? St. Thomas is always a very talented high school team. They played undefeated 13-0 Tampa Plant in the state championship game. A very good team in their own right. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Major Wright, Marcus Gilbert, Jordan Scarlett all sign with UF from St. Thomas Aquinas and I'm missing more. There are many great players from that high school that had great college careers. You make it sound as if maybe we shouldn't recruit players from St. Thomas because they just outmatch everybody. LOL. Well obviously there is a reason for that.

I would like to say that I don't care who starts as long as we win, and in one sense, that's true.

But I also want a coach who can develop QB's on his own.

I remember when Spurs came in and we had 7 QB's on the roster, he took the one with a gambling problem, coached him up for 6 months, and went out and beat the crap out of just about everybody. Mac has had 20 months with those two QB's and plenty of other options to boot, and he needs to bring in a guy somebody else developed? This is a major problem for me.

My point is he was surrounded by better talent in almost all the games he played in and wasn't making a bunch of great throws to get his numbers like some high school QBs were doing on tape. Listening to Rivals it appeared they chose to keep him a 3 star because of that and him not overly impressing them at those camps he went to. I said I think he has good potential and he appears to be a hard worker. I would probably trust him to read a defense better than Franks right now.

it's taken so long he has to have another team ready now

Not sure if he is considering someone besides the 3 teams you usually hear. He is still thinking NFL when you hear the interview. Whether that is a pipe dream for him or not who knows but I think with him waiting this long it definitely doesn't rule us out and he isn't 100% set on going to Texas or Wisconsin. My guess is he would definitely go to Texas if they didn't have a clear starter in place right now that played last season. Wisconsin's QB played last season also which leads me to still think it might end up being us still.

I think this is the thing people keep overlooking.

In year 1 we only had Treon and Grier so it made sense to bring in a transfer QB for depth and because you had no idea if any of those two would pan out in the offense. Year 2 we lose both those guys and so it made sense to bring in a transfer again to bridge the gap while the true freshmen got ready (even though I'd have played them.) But now year 3? Why another transfer? By the time the season rolls around Trask and Franks will have had 2 springs and 2 fall camps under their belts, if they can't at a minimum give you what Appleby gave us last year then either our coaching of the position sucks or our recruiting of the position sucks. It doesn't take that long to have competent QB play, not even good or great, just competent. That's more than enough time.

You're an absolute genius! I'd have never thought of that,,, ever. Not even last year when early enrollee's Franks and Trask had 8 months to get ready, and I advocated Trask as the starter. You're just so smart... o_O

I go back and forth a little on this also. Do I want to see what the young guys can do even if I think they might not do that good and it could lead to a 7-5 type season possibly if the defense does have the drop off many think it will or as a Gator fan do I want Zaire to come here if I think he gives us the best shot to go 9-3 if things fall right which should have us contending for the East again most likely. The answer would be a lot easier probably if Mac's job was on the line at 7-5 which it probably isn't this season.

I believe that they would do better than 7-5 with any of the 4 young QB's, (Franks rsFr, Trask rsFr, Toney Fr-EE, Allen Fr) so that doesn't worry me. o_O

I doubt that they would go 9-3 with 'head-case' Zaire and just 3 months to win over the team, and to learn the offense. :rolleyes:

Heck, I'd even rather go with the LDR/Sproles combo than to bring in Zaire. :confused:

On the other hand,,, IF Mc-Nuss can't get it done with the 6 QB's that they have chosen and brought in and coached (for months, or years in some cases), and that are already on the roster, and therefore need a NL reject that has been coached by the monumental loser Jelly-Belly-Kelly to have a chance at a decent W/L season, then their jobs are (or should be) on the line imoho.... :mad:
