CBS sports has us up 18 spots to #9 preseason CBB now

Look at that passing out of a 6'10" guy. He finishes like a guard on his drives, gets a lot of and-1's, even popping step back 3's like a guard. He's smooth.

It's going to be super important for Gak and this freshman, Jitohboh coming in to play well.

I've watched UF basketball for a lot of years, and I can tell you that whenever we only have one contributor at the 5 spot, every time we go on the road in the SEC he gets 2 fouls in the first 2 minutes and ends up living on the bench due to foul trouble. So we need 2-3 guys who can contribute there.

If that happens this season with Blackshear, I'd like to see Coach White ignore conventional wisdom and leave him out there. Let's see if the refs have the guts to foul him out in the first half. If that happened it would be a major story and the foul calls would be scrutinized nationally. I don't think the SEC refs could afford that, so they would probably back off and let him play.

Bassett is better than Gak.

Those corrupt / cheatin' bastads (imoho) had no trouble fouling out the 'meat hook' or UD, so I don't see then letting up on anyone else. They have been getting away with so much,,, for so long,,, (in every sport) that they believe that they are invulnerable,,, and so far they've been correct on that point.

Bassett is better than Gak.

That was the old injured and never at 100% clumsy baby fat Gak.
The 'New & Improved' Gak gets a fresh start for the 2019-20 season.

Maybe so, but I don't want him to have to play out of position because of centers in foul trouble. Our reserves need to be good enough to come in and contribute.

Blackshear doen't foul out, even when playing 40 minutes in a game.
(current listing as a C at 6-11 240)

Gak at 6-11 235 is healthy, lean, mean, and in better control of his bod.

Jitoboh 6-11 270 was known for drawing fouls on opponents big's in HS.

With shared minutes... No worries mates.... ;)

Bassett - Stokes - Payne -- won't need to play out of position.
