Can you be honest???

Both of those rotten POS need to go.
Joe and Hunter, I agree. DJT is going to be President for 4 more years. And rightly so. His policies are golden and great for America.

I see no viable option to DJT. I like desantis, but he just doesn’t have it. R’s need savages. Trump threatens to prosecute political opponents while Biden actually does it. Brass knuckle politician only. No more unifiers, I want a conqueror

Did I ever name him? No.
BTW seeing him on the debate stage I think he’s dropped a few LBees.
And I think he’s been good at attacking DJT.

Oh. To counter that awesome Bidenomics you mean?
i prefer bidens policies so far to trumps. the money printing has stopped, i despise stimi, and nobody did stimi like trump. what i want to see is somebody dust of simpson bowles and bring it forward. thats not even on the table so for me, not worth standing in line... thats been my position my entire life, i care about the tax code, not the cups moving around.

Tax code? I’ll be back shortly - after I stop laughing at you.
Tax code to a Dimocrat means “give me all your money”. If you’re on board for that go ahead and vote D. I suspect you always do anyway.

not sure why youre bringing up the dems i have never voted for a dem either. but there is nobody in the same universe as trump, nobody is even close, and he did it supposedly over a sore throat. LOL, the man spent over 7 trillion more than he collected in 4 years, over 25% of all dollars printed were printed in 2020 alone. NUTS> whover voted for that needs to leave this great country of ours. Sorry if that offends any of you.

We agree that Trump needs to go away. The hardcore Trumpies on here are just not grasping that many of us agree that he did accomplish some good things - but he’s not the only human who could make that happen. They’re more loyal to a man than their country.
He’d be a lame duck from day one and he’d be a convicted man fighting appeals, etc. like it or not. And he’s too old. You Trumpies might think he’s fine compared to Biden but in two or three years he could be on the trail to Veggie Land too. America cannot risk that. If y’all don’t see it (or refuse to admit it) you’re not smart.
BOTH HE AND JOE NEED TO GO.

MDF - respectfully, ironically, and inexplicably you seem to have no ability to see what is happening on the left. We do not have Clinton there. (love or hate him, under his watch was the last time the budget was balanced. He also wanted to shut down the border)

Biden is a figure head - nothing more. Here is who is running his policy on the CEA:

He is a New Monetarist. He is supported by Paul Krugman - the one who said in the NYT "I was wrong on inflation".

These are individuals, cultural and structural marxists, with lines back to critical theory and the Frankfurt School who want broad redistribution of wealth.

Again, the irony is that I think most people here would agree on what to do on fiscal and monetary policy. I also agree that there tends to be a "messianic" quality to Trump that precludes people from seeing him as a financial profligate.

I view Trump as a conflicted, complex individual who wants many things: love of country, profound ego, mounting and expensive legal issues, ability to take risk, driven by intuition versus data, deep need for loyalty so that when his intuition is off, he can better control and mitigate the damage, wants the government out of the way, but the Pence wing needs to be courted enough to get out to vote, wants to be liked and loves his family.

You are, I will trust, a smart individual. See the complexity in him.

I am aware of what’s happening on the left, very aware. I am also very aware that trump made their job infinitely easier. You don’t see aware of that. The shutdowns the stimi the money printing the asset bubbles all make the job of the socialist easier it cements the American dream as unattainable to most. What’s the natural solution to that you ask? Just look across the pod at Europe.

Very good response. I am assume that you are concerned with what is happening on the left. Correct?

See my comments on Trump: "No fiscal conservative"....a fiscal "profligate", etc. I agree with you on Trump in terms of fiscal policy. Lots of tax breaks, no focus on spending.

On Europe - are you suggesting that this is our best option or a potential cautionary tale?

It’s our fate, no turning back from the largess of the covid years. The fed and trumps yammering about negative rates. We should have normalized in 2018 when Powell was doing it, trump prevented that from happening and then we simply went mad in 2020 and 2021. Paying people not to work changes the game locking everyone into their mortgages at 3-4% allows for a lot of shenanigans down the line. It’s coming and it’s set in stone at
This point. I don’t like the far left anymore than I like the morons on the far right the nut job Bible thumpers and nationalists etc etc. should we have a wall on the southern border? You’re damn right. Do we? Nope. Trump didn’t do it either, even though that was why he got elected he spent his political capital getting populist tax cuts through so he could dance around while the Dow hit highs, sugar highs but none the less. The division made Obama look like a uniter, I mean the guy did nothing curative absolutely nothing.
