Bowl day thread

Smart play by OU to let punt bounce. Possession more important than yards, and let your best player finish.

Two first downs

Wow.

Heisman winner and you run pitch to short side?

Very poor execution there. UGA with a chance.

Clutch by UGA. After taking ball out of Heisman hands with chance to win.

Three timeouts and a minute.

Bet Mayfield throws pick

Second chance for Mayfield to win it. Or will OU again play safe.

Three handoffs. Fourth and one.

Stunning.

Is Mayfield dizzy? Sick? Still off. Go for it? FG attempt. Miss and lose.

One of the best offense in college football and a Heisman winner and he throws it...none.

Did the same thing on their second to last drive before regulation when they could have put it away. Two biggest games in the game and Reily doesn't let Mayfield attempt one pass. Terrible.

He is throw that wheel route but the play calling has been horrible since they had the ball up seven with chances to win over and over

Shocking stuff still.

You are at the fifteen no room to run plays like that run

OU scared to win. Period. Scared to death. UGA deserves to win just due to. It being scared

OU coaching has been crap down the stretch

Some of the most conservative garbage I've ever seen. How do you have a Heisman QB and don't let him attempt one pass on the two biggest series of the game? And don't even get me started on that atteocious defense. No exaggeration they're the worst unit I've ever seen in CFB. Unathletic, shitty tackling, soft coverage, you name it. On one of UGA's scores the entire right side of the line was uncovered. You almost had to try to lose that game and sure enough they did.

So apparently Nuss was calling the OU plays in overtime.

What a joke.

I know you all hate Bama, but I love the historic aspect of being alive for such dominance. You can say it affects us (it really doesn’t). I need Bama to win and then destroy Georgia.

Yea I'm rooting for Bama now. I have no faith Clemson wouldn't come up here and choke in what's basically a home game for UGA.

I know you’re very much a “screw the SEC, everyone else doing well hurts us” guy, but Bama is Bama. What Nick Saban is doing there isn’t going to end until he leaves.

20 years from now it will be cool to be look back at 2008-20?? And realize that we were witness to a level of dominance in an era of parity that we may never see again (at least not for a long time.)

I think Danny is right about Saban, but I still can't stand the guy and will pull against Bama as long as he is there. I just don;t want to see a Bama/UGA final. Despise both teams.

Anybody> UGA

As soon as they won I started rooting for Bama because I know they won't have running backs running untouched on damn HB draws. Just wish they had a better QB than Hurts.

If Bama plays UGA for the National Title it will render the entire regular season totally meaningless, and anybody who opposes an 8 or 16 team playoff can shove it up their ass.

Oh please.

Stop that communist rhetoric.

They do.

Tua Tagavoila is a great QB. I’ve advocated moving Hurts to a RB-WR role out of the backfield with Tua starting.

I’ve told all my Bama friends that they’d be surprised what Bama would do against Clemson given a month to prepare.

And looky here.

I don't mind it.

I did like the 1980s when Miami was either winning a national title or essentially playing for one every year. Only Alabama is doing that right now. Clemson is finishing up year three or four of this but this is ten years for Alabama. In only one of those seasons did they not have a title chance heading into their Auburn game. That is where they differ from the Florida State runs. Good teams but few real title shots. Alabama and Miami. Even USC and Nebraska, as good as they were, did not play for titles like this.

Yea Hurts has no business playing. Only thing I could think of is the optics would look bad benching a QB who has only lost twice in two years, but that damn sure ain't because of him he's terrible. And unlike normal coaches I doubt fans would question Saban too much if he made the move. And if it didn't work so what? He's untouchable.

Were you not around from 1987 through 2001? FSU was the "Bama" of that era.

From1987 through 2001 SOW was really good and I am sure one if their defensive trolls will try and spin this, but, during that run they were only in position to play for the national title 5 times I believe heading into Gator game, maybe 6. That alone is excellent, but not Alabama Miami.

Yes, if a four team playoff existed they would have been in the running more, but if that was the case Miami would have also played for one every year but maybe one.

2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 Alabama with chance at national title heading into their last game.

Different era but Miami in 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1992, with 1988 and 1990 being right there.

SOW 1991, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000

For that matter, Gators heading into last game were alive in 1995, 1996, 1998, 2001, and possibly 1984-1985 in different circumstance. Then again in 2006, 2008, 2009 and yes, 2012.

What a nightmare matchup - I think only FSU v Georgia could have been worse. I don't want Saban winning another championship but you always have to root against Georgia.

If Bama wins this year it will be 5 titles in 9 years. Noles never did anything close to that not to mention a big chunk of what noles did during that time was against a bad acc.
Finishing in the top 4 for 15 straight years will never be done again. Period.

I don't diminish Bama's titles this entire decade they've flourished. Where you went completely off the track was to imply that FSU's '87-2001 schedule was suspect. Though the ACC was not great by any means, FSU played OOC and top bowls to make up for it. During those yrs. the avg. FSU SOS was about 16th. with 4 yrs. top 10 and 7 top 11.
