Bits and Pieces on Gator Sports...

I'm not on a buttsniffer board beating my chest, like you nuttlicker trolls are here.
You are wishing that the #6 ranked Gators were dead, instead of you lame #8 mutts.

Yep, every time that the Gators have beat your leghumpers in the last 69 years, 4 decades to 2, it's always been luck. But back in your Great-Great-Granddaddy's leather helmet days, it was because Jawja was such a great team. Especially that 2004 team that played a local Gainesville 0-5 intramural team, so desperate to claim a 'safe-space' win....
Relax Insta, I agreed you're in your safe space. I promise you I don't want to swap where we are for where you are. You lost 3 home games by double digits (home games according to Dan) and finished 3rd in the division. You think you're gaining ground in talent/ depth, but you're not. Peace be with you and stay safe.

And he got $1 million for his efforts. His 2019 salary with the Mets is $550,000.

Of that 1 Million he won, he also promised to donate $50,000 each to the Wounded Warriors charity and Tunnel to Towers, a New York-based charity that aides First Responders and their families.

Another Great Gator making a solid contribution to better the World. :)

The actual finish was this, nuttlicker... o_O

6. UF 10-3 - Beat #7 Mich in bowl. - 5-3 SEC
8. UGly 11-3 - LOST to #15 Texass in bowl - 7-2 SEC
11. UK 10-3 - Beat #17 PSU in bowl -- 5-3 SEC

But this is not your 'safe space' as a jawja nuttlicker...

Not in the poll where people actually vote in lieu of having their assistants fill out the ballots. You guys got throttled at home by 3 teams in the division. If Vandy's tailback doesn't get injured, you're 5th or 6th in the East. See you in Nov buddy.

Don't worry sand eater, you are free to remain in your paid-biased AP 'media-moron' safe place, avoiding the realities of where your and 4th&Dumb FINISHED 2018... o_O

Coaches - 6. UF --- 8 UGly
AP media-morons - t7 UF --- t7 UGly
Composite - 6.5 UF --- 7.5 UGly

Pretty much any way you slice it, our 1st year HC far out preformed your 3rd year HC. :p

Congrats on your 3rd Place SEC East Trophy. Go back to your safe space. LMAO... we beat every division team by at least 2 TDs including beating you by 19. We were also the youngest team in the SEC while winning the East. It pleases me to see that you're so happy with those results. Times have changed.

The only reason a gator don't lick nutts is because they're internal like ovaries. Impressive!

#6 Dan's climbing the ladder.

#8 4th&Dumb is losing ground.

I'm good with that, as 2018 is already history...

Again, congrats on 3rd place in the SEC East. Losing ground??? Bwahahahahaha!
Dan is losing ground. These kids that sign LOIs and don't make it in aren't just replaced instantly. Those spots are temporarily unavailable and depth suffers. Meanwhile, JAX is going to be closer to 2017 than 2018... but at least you're happy in your safe space.

July 10th -- Florida cornerback CJ Henderson's strong second season has put him squarely on NFL radars. In fact, he's at the top of some of them. Bleacher Report NFL Draft scout Matt Miller falls into that category, tweeting that Henderson was his top-rated cornerback for 2020.

“#Florida CB CJ Henderson is a prototype of what we look for at the position,” Miller tweeted, before continuing that Henderson was 6-foot-1, physical, good length, quick twitch, can run in phase. He’ll be the CB1 to start the season on my draft list. Also a great sign that Henderson was awarded (by Mullen) the No. 1 jersey from Florida,” Miller tweeted. “That’s one heck of a honor for the Gators. That’s what you want to see from a work ethic/leadership standpoint.” Nobody wore the number last year, Mullen’s first in Gainesville, even as the Gators rebounded to win 10 games and finish second in the SEC East to Georgia. (CJ was 2nd Team All SEC -- In fact, College Football News picked Henderson as a preseason 3rd-team All-American, but even that could be sleeping on the Gator cornerback a bit.)

Instead of just yappin' your usual bs, tell me where you see any holes in UF's roster, in starters or in depth behind them? Be specific.

Jawja fans are happy with being #1 in the SECe (your safe space), while being the Final Poll #8 Sugar Bowl loser to #15 Texazz. -- How sad for you... :( ---- but how :D:p:D good for this Gator fan....o_O

Jawja nuttlicker math -- being #8 is better than being #6...

For any that worry about the early loss of Jr DE Polite to the NFL draft. Dan brought in experienced Grad-xfer Greenard from UL to fill in for him, if he beats out the other 3-4 that will be competing for that spot in the Fall.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the DL you have this:

S.I. lists Gator SDE Jabari Zuniga as the #38 player in the Nation for 2019.

While The Athletic's Bruce Feldman noted in tabbing Zuniga No. 29 on his list of "Freaks" for 2019, Zuniga reps 225 pounds on the bench 30 times at 6 foot 4, 265 pounds, while posting a 7.03-second 3-cone drill -- a number that would have been tied for 2nd-fastest among all DL'men at this year's NFL Combine.

Gator backup QB's in 2018:

https://florida.rivals.com/news/gators-position-battle-preview-who-will-be-qb2-

===========

JMOHO as usual, while others can certainly see or call things differently. -- iG
Gator Backup QB"s stats in 2018:

Trask 6-5 234 rsJr-- 3 mop-up games + Mizzou:
14 of 22, 63.6% for 162 yds, 11.6 yds/comp, 1 TD, 0 Int.
The majority of his passing was vs Mizzou.
Rushing - 5 for -4 yds, 1 TD, Long 12 yds.
When he goes on a called run, he does well, the minus yards were on pass sacks.

E.Jones 6-2 199 rsFr-- 4 mop-up Gms
Passing - 12 of 16, 75% for 125 yds, 10.4 yds/comp, 2 TD's, 0 Ints.
The majority of his passing was vs Idaho.
Rushing - 18 for 41 yds, 2.3 ypc, 0 TD's, Long 15 yds.
Quick and shifty runner, but low power at contact.

Gator Backup QB's for 2019:

Trask should be the #2 QB
for several good reasons. If FF goes down, Kyle goes in as the starter. Jones will continue to get some playing time ahead of Trask in game packages designed for him. -- That set-up by the coaches makes sense to me....
Franks & Trask as the Starters -- Jones as the every game 'package' QB,,, for 2019.

The 2020 QB starter will be determined by who's available, and who can best lead and win.
Projected possibilities include - Franks, Trask, Jones, Richardson...
Any of those 4 might not be here and available, or any could change positions as the team needs change. Anyhow, that's all a full year away yet, so revisit it next summer.

RB Lamical Perine 5-11 211 incoming recruit.
I've liked him since they started recruiting him.
Sr 1,654 yds, 15 TD's, Ala 7A 1st Team, AL/MS All Star, Ala #1 APB

Then, he was my 'dark-horse' in a loaded backfield, to shine as a true Fr at 5-11 221.
13 GMs, 91 for 421 yds, 4.6 ypc -- 9 rec for 161 yds, 17.9 yds/rec.
Had 2 100 yard games vs Power 5 (SEC) opponents, and he returned kicks 21.5 ave.
#1 on team with 643 yds

His Soph season he was UF’s most consistent running back and offensive player.
11 Gms, 8 GS, 136 for 562 yds, 4.1 ypc, 8 TD's - 10 Rec for 81 yds, 1 TD.

His Jr season, 13 Gms, 1 GS, 134 for 826 yds, 6.2 ypc 7 TD's.
Rec 13 for 170 yds, 13.1 yds/rec, 1 TD.-- Combined 996 yds and 8 TD's
He out played rsJr Scarlett, who left early for the NFL and was drafted.
~ Peach Bowl vs Mich, he had a 53 yd run for a TD and he caught a pass for a TD.

Sr Season at UF - 5-11 227 Sr - invited by Dan to Hoover for SEC Media Days.
Lamical enters his Sr season with an opportunity to become the 1st Gators RB to lead the team in rushing for 3 consecutive seasons since Errict Rhett did it 4 years in a row from 1990-93.
Keep in mind that Perine has only had a total of 9 career starts while accomplishing that....

On coming back for his Sr season: "I put everything in God's hands when I made the decision. When I made my decision to come back, it's probably one of the best decisions I could have made."

Q: What would having a 1,000-yard season mean to you? o_O

A: Honestly, if I get 1,000 yards, that would be great. But man, as long as I'm winning, I don't care about 1,000 yards. If it comes, it comes. I want to win. Winning games, man, that feels way better than having 1,000 yards and losing.

iG -- 4 years and he's still my kind of GATOR and there's no 'dark-horse' about it....

At SEC Media Days, Gator RB Perine, after a question concerning the Gators' SEC East rivalry with Tennessee....

"I wouldn't say it's a rivalry," Perine said Monday from the Wynfrey Hotel. "It's just another game. I wouldn't call it a rivalry. LSU, that's a rival game. We look at Tennessee like it's just another game."

From 1990-04 it was UF 9 - 6 Rubber Dollies
From 2005-18 it's UF 13 - 1 tennis-sea...
So since the SEC's 1990 expansion, it's UF 22 - 7 noKnox (.241)

To put that in perspective, UF vs SCa have played yearly since 1992

From 1992-05 UF 13 - 1 SCa
From 2006-18 UF 8 - 5 SCa
1992-18 UF 21 - 6 SCa (.222)

So I'd have to agree with Lamical on this one, tennis-sea is not any more of a rival than SCa is.

Hey Mad-Dog-dollie mouth-foamer, now you know your true place in the scheme of things.
About .019 in front of the lamecocks and still losing ground yearly... :D:p:D
2018 SCA 7-6 -- tennis-sea 5-7....

Reggie Bush recently named Gator RB Lamical Perien as the Nation's 'most versatile' RB.
Now Lamical has been placed on the Doak Walker Award Watch List.
He was also named to the Maxwell Award Watch List last Monday.

He joins Franks and Zuniga as Gator's that are already on multiple watch lists.

Robbie, that's true only for the OL depth.
Because 7 are upperclassmen and several of them have some starts.
And 4 of the 6 Fr that qualified are early enrolls that Hevesy has already worked with, and they have spent the Spring and Summer with Savage and staff, along with time in the film room. o_O

We had a very positive season last year. Almost everything with FL has been positive and we are on the rise. We don't know what we will do but that's how most objective people see it... it's showing up in lots of areas.

I'm not sure why you even come to this site. So lame...do you ever get tired of saying the same shit over and over?

It's what Uga's nutt fleas do 79, they jump on where they're not wanted, for a free ride in their better's parade... o_O

And even when they win some games, they still act like the losers that they've been for the last 40 years....

~ As to the 2 main polls, if UGly was ahead in the Coaches, you'd be screaming it from the roof tops night and day... (troll)

But hey, I'm willing to average the two polls out,,, just to be fair to the nuttlickers.
Florida - AP t7 - Coaches 6 = Combined 6.7 --- :p
UGly
- AP t7 - Coaches 8 = Combined 7.5 --- :(

Now back to Gator subjects for the Gator fans...

Then & Now....

Then
2015 Recruit - 6-4 285 *** 5.5

2015 - 0 Gms, redshirt.
2016 - 2 Gms as a reserve OL'man
2017 - 1 Gm, UAB as a reserve OL'man
2018 - 12 Starts - Only 18 sacks given up by the OL.

NOW - NEW YORK, N.Y. – Florida OC Nick Buchanan 6-3 291 was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List on Friday, as announced by the Boomer Esiason Foundation. The award is annually presented to the nation's premier and most outstanding center in college football.

In 2018 Buchanan played and started 12 games at center for the Gators, as the rsJr was an integral part of a Florida OL that allowed just 18 sacks over the course of the entire 2018 season. The 18 total 'sacks allowed' ranked 20th in the country and was good for 3rd in the SEC. A native of Dunwoody, Ga., Buchanan was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. :)

So,,, it's not how you were ranked by some recruiting service out of HS that counts.
It's instead how you step up when your number finally gets called... o_O
That 2018 OL had a 3 star Jr RT go early with the 3rd pick of the 2nd Rnd.
And a 5 star Sr LT, 4 Yr starter, that eventually went as a free agent with a chance to make a roster.
~ Note: the 3 star and the 5 star both were starters as true freshmen.

NEW ORLEANS – A total of 13 Gators and both their men's and women's teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday afternoon.

Florida's men were also named the USTFCCCA Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year. The Gators won the honor by virtue of being the highest-finishing team with at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average at both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Florida's men won the NCAA Indoors title and took second at NCAA Outdoors.

This is the second consecutive year the Gators were the Indoor Scholar Team of the Year, and they previously earned the distinction in 2012 and 2013. It is the first time since 2012 and 2013 the Gators were the Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year. This is the seventh time a men's team swept the indoor and outdoor awards, with this year being Florida's third such sweep.

Coaching both the Men's and the Women's Teams, Coach Mike Holloway and his staff are the best in the Nation imoho.

In the next couple of years, the Gators need to get in a playmaker position player IWR/RB/TE named Henry. o_O

Jus-think-bout-it..... :D

"Florida coach Dan Mullen (and the instaGATOR) seems to have a little more faith in his offensive line than those who have slapped a big question mark on it heading into the season." -- Robbie

“We’ll stay with what we do,” Mullen said. “I’m not as uncertain (as some). My uncertainty on the offensive line is depth. If we can stay healthy, I’m OK. And it’s just how fast we can accelerate some of the really young guys to get going.” (sounds a lot like what the iG's been saying all summer)

"You want football to be important to your players,,, rather than guys who just want to be football players." -- 'old-saying' repeated by Dan

“There’s a big difference between having fun, being confident,,, and being silly and goofy as a team,” Mullen said.

The coming RB 1-2 Punch in the mouth...
1. Perine & Davis
2. Pierce, Clement & Wright
Opposing defenses are gonna get really tired of seeing these guys coming at them in constantly changing combinations.... o_O

When I (iG) think about being Savaged, it's mostly about tough guys toughing up some more, or baby fat being turned into muscle. But coach Savage is a lot more than that.

“Coach Mullen has talked to me about increasing the touchback percentage this year,” McPherson said. “Last year, we had the No. 1 kickoff coverage team so I wasn’t worried about hitting it out of the end zone. This year, he’s talked to me about it, so I’ve been working on driving it a little bit more.” With the help of strength coach Nick Savage. “Coach Savage has definitely helped me improve my leg strength a lot since I’ve been here,” McPherson said. (this from a guy with a HS 60 Yd FG and an 80 Yd Punt)

Mullen/McPherson quotes taken from a Dooley article.
