Pass a law outlawing assault weapons out right...10 years in jail for unlawful possession
Offer $1000 per assault weapon turned in and make their manufacture, transport into, or sale in the US illegal
After a certain date specific...possession gets you the 10 year sentence
Pass a law requiring state registration of all other guns just like an automobile
Don't register the gun by a date specific and that gun is found in your possession...10 years
Unregistered gun involved in a crime 10 years on top of the criminal conviction
Register the gun but don't update the transfer of ownership and that gun ends up in a later crime...10 years
Don't report a registered gun stolen and it ends up in a later crime...last registered owner gets 10 years
Basically people who don't register or don't report a transfer (legal or illegal theft) then become accessory
to whatever crime is committed using that gun along with 10 years from not complying with the new gun law
Legal owners who lock up their guns, use them responsibly, and who register & report transfers have no issues
Illegal irresponsible gun owners go to jail

Unfortunately human nature left unchecked is not a nice thing for the most part and having schools where the teachers are allowed to be bullied by the students (not to even go into what many of those same teachers are pushing on these kids) and Mayors like this that think its no big deal with behavior like this just creates messed up adults. I don't see why any sane person would stay in some of these cities. But hey at least they are reducing the crime rate in some of these cities on paper by refusing to arrest the people committing the crimes or not having enough police any longer to respond to a lot of the calls.
This could EASILY be asked on a National level....just by asking..."What is better today in America than it was 4 years ago? Problem with this is...they refuse to answer the question

Special Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Leerkamp made a motion to dismiss all charges regarding a racist confrontation in 2020 at Lake Monroe between Sean Purdy, Jerry Cox and Vauhxx Booker, according to a case file released May 18.
The case was resolved through restorative justice, which is a process of understanding, accountability and repairing harm to victims, according to the Center for Community Justice in the case file. After all individuals agreed to the restorative justice process, Purdy and Cox accepted personal responsibility for their actions as the Center for Community Justice facilitated discussion. It is the first time a case has used restorative justice in Indiana.
In a dispute over whether or not Booker was trespassing on Purdy’s property in the summer of 2020, Purdy and Cox physically assaulted Booker and yelled racial slurs.
Purdy was charged with criminal confinement with bodily injury, battery with moderate injury and intimidation. Cox was charged with aiding, inducing or causing criminal confinement and battery, as well as two counts of battery and intimidation, which are misdemeanors.
Booker was later charged with battery resulting in a moderate bodily injury and a misdemeanor of criminal trespassing following a recommendation from the Indiana Department of Resources that all three men should be charged in July 2021.
Purdy wrote in his restorative justice experience that despite viewing the confederate flag, which was printed on his hat during the confrontation, as a symbol of the South, he has since learned the symbol is racially charged. He said his actions were done out of misunderstanding.
Cox wrote he regretted being verbally abusive to Booker. He said he initially doubted the restorative justice process, but said he has learned more about himself and others.

What Republicans have advocated is for a powerful corporate and government platform that limits government involvement, government regulation, taxes, etc. to allow people who work hard, study, apply themselves to succeed.

The problem, the irony, is that Democratic programs have ostensibly sought to improve the black condition. They are, in general, exceptionally well meaning - I believe that to my core. The problem is that the "law of unintended consequences" comes in every time.
For example - shut down schools and crime goes up and educational success drops.
For example, 2 - defund police and crime goes up.
Crime goes up and businesses pull out along with a broad set of deleterious concomitant effects.
Republicans don't speak to it enough. The one who did the best job? Trump in his 2020 SOTU.
How dare these greedy businesses try to make a profit.
