Any word on Tebow?

Um at some point you have to face the realities of the situation.

And I'm not sure about the SECN gig.

You would think he would have tried to work out something so that if he didn't make the final cut, he could come back.

They release Tebow but keeps Mark Sanchez? Wow Chip Kelly doesn't have his head on top of his shoulders and it must be between his legs. Mark Sanchez is noway, shape or form better than Tebow, he is one of the worst QBs in the NFL currently. Geez

The reality is of the situation is that an NFL team was willing to give him a shot. If that is the case, you go for it. They don't do that unless they too think that he was worth consideration.

Hey I agree but it became clear that they weren't giving him a shot to show what he can do with real players. It was over a couple of weeks ago.

I just felt that this was the inevitable outcome from day one, and I was right. Hopefully now, at 28, he realizes it's just not happening.

So Tyler Murphy makes the 53 man roster...Tyler freaking Murphy makes the final cut but Tim Tebow does not make the cut.

So now I officially believe recruiting rankings don't mean ish.

Pretty surprised by this move. Considering he's been off for what, an entire year, he thought he was pretty good in preseason. And considering Bradford is made of glass and just isn't good and Sanchez isn't good, I figured the Eagles would see a backup at some point this season.

Really is sad but Tebow effed himself the day he declined to be traded to Jax. That owner wanted him badly and I'm sure he would have demanded he get PT. instead he goes to the Jets and gets no shot at QB because they had just extended Sanchez that offseason and it's been all downhill since. He needed to go somewhere that was gonna let him take his lumps and play.

There is some speculation that they released him to make the 53 limit, but might bring him back to the 6 man practice squat in a week or so, if another team doesn't grab him up first, so we'll see.

As I've said before,
IF Tim Tebow is not good enough for the NFL,,, then the NFL is not good enough for me.

I'm already not much of a No Fun League (thugs) fan any more, and it's becoming less for me each day that passes.
Pro Wrassling has more character and honesty now days it seems to me, and I haven't taken that seriously since I left grammar school many decades ago.... o_O

Oh Christ...grow up man.

You're what? 65 or so? How can you be so silly and simple.

I pray you didn't actually attend a major university.

Why is Tim Tebow not in the NFL?

Looking at the QB stats the first week, it's certainly not because he's not good enough.
See his career NFL stats and/or his 2015 preseason stats.
Claiming that 'he's just not good enough' is total BS in the face of the facts/stats.

Then Why?

GM/Owner: Tim, would you set aside your principles for BIG money?
TT: No sir, (thinking that is the correct answer and a proper response).

Coach: Tim, would you cheat the rules to win a game?
TT: No sir, (again thinking that is the correct answer and a proper response).

NFL's Response to TT: He just not the right type of person/QB to lead an NFL team.
(and in their corrupt way of seeing things, they are probably 100% correct)

I Say Again:
IF Tim Tebow is not good enough for the NFL, then the NFL is not good enough for me....

Speculation:
The NFL and Irish/Catholic Chip Kelly put on a hoax with Tebow in the preseason.
They never intended him to make a roster, they just made an attempt to quiet 'football fans' like me.
What they've actually done is alienate fans like me from the NFL, and good riddance both ways...

Insta, you're losing it

Insta, you're losing it

..and why, as a Catholic (I don't know that he is), should Kelly have a problem with Tim Tebow? I'm Catholic and know many Catholics who love Tebow, what a dumb and insulting statement for you to make!

Religious attitudes and/or affiliations NEVER have any play in anything, world-wide. My mistake.... (and I don't much care what your's or anyone else's particular religious affiliations are.)

But since you've jumped in with your's, should the Pope (in charge of the ages long pedophile priests cover-up)
even be allowed into the US under U.S. law? (the correct answer is NO btw)
Don't bother with an answer, this is the wrong board for this conversation anyway, my mistake yet again. Sorry....

But there's nothing to ever be learned from just the raw stats.... ;)

Moving on to other thread related things:

It reminds me of John Brantley in Urban Meyer’s last season. Meyer kept scratching the phantom limb, running the read option when the QB was never going to run with the ball. I see the same thing with the Chip Kelly's Eagles. What makes Kelly's offense so good is the potential for QB runs. Kelly keeps on scratching the phantom limb, running his read option offense when Sam Bad-ford is never going to be successful while running the ball. Against the Falcons the other night, Kelly got exactly what he deserved with the choices that he's made. o_O (inspired by a recent fat-drooley column) :D

If Chippy believes that Bradford is better than Tebow then I expect Chip will be out of a job after the season. Anybody see that game last night? Bradford was scared, plain and simple.

Kelly cut Tebow because he said that "he's not good enough for the NFL."

Bradford - 59 of 89, 66.3% for 560 yds, 2 TD's, 4 Ints, 1 LPF Rating 72.3
But the most critical stat is Eagles 0-2.

Is Kelly the latest coach/GM to get bit after dumping Tebow?
Sure looks that way to me.... o_O

Did you miss their Head to Head game?
Bad-ford's injury report?
Bad-ford's NFL W/L record?
The fact that the team that took him in the draft was happy to be rid of him?

Bad-ford is pretty.
Tebow is a leader and a winner.

Bradford is a mentally and physically soft scrub. Oh but he throws a really pretty spiral against no pass rush! That's all that matters.

I, for one, am glad this Tebow drama is over.

Me too. It's a weird situation. Tim apparently doesn't want to play "football". He wants to play NFL football. Short of that, he's making his way in the world doing college football commentary, and that seems OK with him. Would it be different if he spent a couple seasons in the CFL as opposed to sitting at a desk for the SEC network?

Warren Moon, Doug Flutie, Jeff Garcia and Joe Theisman all played CFL before having big NFL careers.

I'm starting to think Tim not making it is more important to fans than Tim.

If I were him, I would not go to Canada either. The landscape has changed on that front. 4 guys out of thousand of QB's making it to the NFL from the CFL doesn't mean its a viable route. Why aren't scrubs like Blaine Gabbert encouraged to go the CFL route? The list of busts at the QB position in the NFL is so ridiculously long and yet even they got to hang around as backups in the league for extended periods of time, and nobody criticized them for not taking the CFL route. I understand you're not criticizing Tim, but I've heard the same logic be used by so called analysts. Like 'well if he really cared about getting back to the NFL, he'd go play in the CFL.' Because apparently so many QB's are transitioning from the CFL to the NFL every year. And at the same time they disregard the year-round work he's been doing on his mechanics.

OK Ooze. I get it. The CFL isn't a pipeline to the NFL. Many more than the 4 I listed have done it at virtually any position. I listed 4 QB's that not only made it to the league, but were stars. That means collectively pro-bowl appearances, MVP's, and even an induction to the NFL hall of fame.

When their NFL opportunities weren't there...they stayed IN the game. My guess is more guys have made NFL rosters after being in the CFL than those who skipped football seasons to be broadcasters. Agree?

Let me ask this Ooze. How's Tim's plan for being an NFL QB worked so far? If he wants to be an NFL QB now, he has to do something different.

In virtually ALL disciplines those who don't make it the first time around are more likely to never make it in succeeding opportunities. Why? They didn't and and don't have what it takes to begin with. Folks who fail professional examinations the first time have a higher fail rate the second time when compared to first time takers. Same reason.

The real point I'm trying to make is I think Tim isn't devoted to being a player unless it's in the NFL. If it were just about playing, he'd be doing it now rather than talking about others doing it. He can play AND work on his mechanics.

I don't disagree with all that you've written, but I don't think it's as simple of an equation as you're making it either. Why play for pennies on the dollar in the CFL and take a physical beating at the same time when he can make hundreds of thousands as an ESPN broadcaster instead? I know which one I'd choose. And more to the point I was making is why is that the expectation for him specifically? Put another way, how many QB's go from being in the NFL (and being successful) to playing in the CFL? I can't think of any. So that's the entire point. He's played in the NFL, he's been successful, and he's won a playoff game. That's more than numerous QB's who are still in the league right now sucking it up, and nobody is advising them to go to the CFL and using them not going as some sort of referendum on their willingness to play. Why the double standard?

You made my point but in a different way. Tim would rather cash behind a desk than play football outside the NFL. I think he's OK with it honestly. I wish he were playing in the NFL.

Well yea that's the part we agree on. Where we differ is I don't think he should play football outside the NFL either. Not when he's proven he can play when given the opportunity and not when many worse QB's are still in the league cashing checks as backups. I'd say to hell with it too.

Kelly deserves Bad-ford and the butt-fumble Sanchize,,, and he deserves the results that will come to him for is own (bs) decisions....

I continue to believer that Tim's so-called 'opportunity' was an NFL sponsored hoax.

Never know...could have been an ESPN funded one too...;)

I bet we'd see a bunch of 'merican football fans watching the CFL if Tebow played there. He's an automatic draw.

Chip Kelly; "Tim Tebow is just not good enough to play QB for me in the NFL."

Starter - Little Sammy Bad-ford -- Backup Mark (butt-fumble) Sanchize
Genius Chip's fantastic results from all of his off season decisions:

L Eagles 24 - 26 Falcons
L Eagles 10 - 20 Cowboys

W Eagles 24 - 17 N.Y. Wets (too bad they couldn't both lose) :p
L Eagles 20 - 23 Redskins

And Chip deserves every bit of the success that he's NOT getting.... o_O

It looks to me like ole Chip is not good enough as a coach to know how to use Tebow to win, so he went with two proven losers instead....

Lack of Tebow Update....

Saint John El' Dim-way trades Tebow, then hires the 100 Million Dollar Man to bring a SB to Denver. John also virtually rebuilt the team to fit PM by adding 30+ players in just the 1st two season, nearly breaking the Bronco's bank. -- NADA

Stupidimus Rex failed to properly use Tebow, then releases him to draft a bottom of the barrel NFL QB rating Geno. Rex eventually gets fried by the Jets, only to bring his loser ways to Buffalo.

A year passes, then liar cow-Chip Kelly claims to be inspired by Tebow, only to chit him before the season starts, saying that winning record / 2.1 to 1 TD/Int ratio Tebow is not good enough to play in the NFL. He instead retains both Bad-ford and the Butt-fumble. The Eagles are now 3-4 LOSERS.

Going into their Sunday game, Bad-ford was tied for 2nd in the NFL with 9 Interceptions in just 6 games. Sunday he threw for 0 TD's, but another interception to make it 10 interceptions before the season is even half over. Winner Tebow only threw 9 Pic's in his entire NFL career.

Note: The Rams just beat the Browns 24-6, now that they've gotten rid of the Bad-ford....
There might be a subtle message there, but the brick heads in the No Fun League are sure to miss it.....

Sam Bad-ford for the 2015 Eagles and cow-Chip Kelly, mid-season report:

W/L 4-4 o_O

Passing -
195 of 310, 62.9% for 2,061 yds, 6.6 yds/att, 10 TD's, 10 Ints, 14 sacks/103 yds, Rat 79.5
(but Tebow's not good enough to play for the genius cow-chip...)
