3 of these teams HAD/have to win the conference anyway to make it to the playoff...ONE has backdoored itself in the NC playoff multiple times. IT is the only team hurt under a champ only rule.

First off players not honoring contracts, not having a team mentality and acting like pro's has nothing to do with conference realignment. That's all an NIL issue and one I'm worried about as well. The bama QB hasn't played a down and has $1M of NIL money coming in a year. It's ridiculous.
But this is business. The B12 failed the day the Longhorns decided to give the rest of the conference the middle finger and start the Longhorn network. From that day forward, the only outcome was some sort of realignment - the harm to a once decent conference was irreparable. The difference is this time everyone kept their mouths shut, no one told little brother in College Station, and the deal got done. It will end up being better for college football in the long run IMO by expanding the playoff, keeping star players engaged in the hunt for a trophy and creating a ton more big time football games. It's also really good for both the SEC (minus AtM) and OU/Texas.

It won’t be 3 years. Once the b12 loses one more team the big12 is gone. OU and Texas won’t have to wait.

Damn........I'd forgotten half the damn team sat that one out.......in particular, most of UF's receivers and Trask only playing a half. Anymore, bowl games are toilet bowls unless they are playoff related. Like the players themselves, I'd just as soon just sit that out as well. They've become meaningless since the stars jumping to the NFL rarely participate anymore. Not that is an excuse for losing, but there's no reason to even play it other than fill the coffers of the universities involved. Lesser tiered bowls, not sure they even break even by playing them.
