Pete Alonso got hit by a pitch Friday night and fractured a bone in his wrist. Out at least the rest of the regular season plus the SEC tournament, possibly also for the Regionals. Gator bats looked anemic today, getting only 3 singles in a 5-0 loss. A.J. Puk was very good, pitching 6 innings, striking out 11, walking only 2 and giving up just a solo HR in the 2nd. Relievers Dunning, Snead & Rubio gave up 4 runs in the 7th & 8th. With our best hitter and RBI guy, out we are going to really struggle to score runs. Other guys need to step up NOW if we're going to win the SEC.

Alonzo's a tough loss in the Gator's batting lineup, but they have other bats, as they showed yesterday by scoring 10 runs on VU. :)

BTW, catcher 'Yogi' Rivera got a wild pitch in the left knee-cap. (jus-damn) :(

CF Reed hyper-extended his leg on a slip going over 1st base, then he took a ricochet foul ball to the foul balls, big oooche...

But both shook it off and played on,,, so those two are some tough-azz dudes.

We'll all be looking forward to Alonzo's return for the NCAA's / CWS.

Sucks that he is out. Pete has the worst luck it seems.
Bats rebounded yesterday nicely, though.

So they (baseball Gators) lost 4-5 to LSU,,, sorta...

I had to go to the box score today to find out, cause by the 5th inning I was so,,, (insert a long list of very negative adjectives ) that I turned the game off last night. I'm wondering if that plate umpire is the same one that called the SCa games?

The only question I have concerning him is this: Is he corrupt, or is he just that totally incompetent at calling balls and strikes,,, o_O (like this guy, with one eye closed)?

Maybe he should work softball games instead?
They use a big colorful ball that he might be able to see...

~ Gawd I hope that guy is not involved in any of the NCAA Regional's that the Gator's play in!
