Per the now locked thread, please refer to that game.

21-0 Bama....at the end of the 1st quarter.

LSU has a freshman QB and Bama isn't allowing him to look like a pro every chance he gets.

We look far too lethargic on offense in the first half recently.

Bama won'tlet us get away with that.

Our secondary sucks. There's no sugar coating it. The only way we beat bamers is if we never punt.

Tennessee had three TD drives of over 90 yards, TENNESSEE!! Our defense will be obliterated by Bama unless they do a 180 in less than two weeks.

The only reason we thrashed UGA is that their QB play is on a Monty Python level of incompetence, circa the Black Knight.

I’m not sure anybody is going to beat Bama. To be honest we have just as good of a chance as anybody else does. Bama just looks dominant.

If we had a defense just as good as a couple of years ago, we'd have a shot. Now......I have my doubts. We're horrid.

LSU has the worst defense in the conference. Can we have a running clock in the second half?

Any team ever gone from winning the national title to being this bad in just 1 year like LSU?

Statistically LSUs defense is most certainly one of the worst defenses in the SEC.

Not only did LSU lose a ton of talent and coaches, they've been killed each weeklately by opt outs. It's pretty silly. The only good player they have left, I think, is Stingly Jr.

I like the 2020 Gator team, but Bama is on another level. No way we stay within 20 points, and that is lofty.

They will name the score. Our lack of a running game and suspect D means Bama will control tempo and game from start to finish.

I'm hoping it ends up better than the 1995 NC game against Nebraska though. As good as Wuerfful and Company were that year, our defense was better then. That's scary.

Navigator,
Your quote made me look up Tommy Frazier & Nebraska - wish I Hadn't ! LOL

"... The Cornhuskers successfully defended their 1994 national championship by defeating 2nd ranked Florida 62–24 in the Fiesta Bowl, at the time the second largest margin of victory ever between a No. 1 and No. 2 school !"

"...Nebraska defeated Florida 62–24, marking the largest margin of victory and highest score in a national championship game in history. Included among several NCAA bowl records the Huskers set was a rushing total of 524 yards (out of an offensive output of 629 yards). I-back Lawrence Phillips carried 25 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 16-yard touchdown. Quarterback Tommie Frazier finished the game with 199 yards on 16 carries."

OUCH

Frazier, in case you forgot, graduated from Manatee High School - the oldest public high school in Bradenton, Florida.

Would not have played QB for SOS but did OK for Tom Osborne.

If my memory is correct, Florida was leading that game 10-6 at the end of the 1st quarter. Damn, what a beat down the final 3 quarters!

Yes and a suspect holding call on a big third down run by Wuerffel likely kept us from scoring again.

His brother Rod player FB for UF.

Did Bobby and FSU ever give Tommie Frazier a look at all?

In my up most humble opinion Dan Mullen is a better offense coach than Spurrier. Before those throw stones at me...here is why I say such. Spurrier had to have a certain prototypical QB, Spurrier couldn't sign a talent like Frazier and win big. Mullen as an OC has won with Chris Leak at QB. Mullen as a HC has made Kyle Trask a Heisman contender and won his division. Neither are his prototype in a QB to fit his schemes.

I'm not saying Mullen is the better HC(yet) but a better offensive coach.

Tennessee,
See your point.

Mullen does not appear to be married to any QB style or offensive scheme; appears willing to go with the QB / scheme that gives him the best chance of winning.

SOS wanted his QB & his offense to play in his style.

Have heard so many times that Mullen favors a running QB - a true DT, but neither Franks nor Trask were the runners Dan wanted; but he coached them up to be winners !

Just hoping when Emory (and/or Anthony Richardson) gets his chance Mullen is able to get the best out of them.

Yes very true but in order to play QB for SOS your biggest attribute had to be your brain. This is why a guy with poor measurables like Wuerffel succeeded and a guy like Sabelhaus flamed out. You had to process info like Spurrier did, read and see things as he did, and perfect the timing game and throwing to spots the way he wanted. Of course Spurrier would have liked for all his QBs to be 6’5, 230, and have a rocket arm with touch, but brains came first, second, and third then came physical talent.

Which makes Dan Mullen even more amazing. He won 10 games and a NY6 Bowl with Felipe Franks. Spurs would have had a stroke coaching Felipe.

I bet Dan Mullen would have won the SEC with Doug Johnson.

Which makes Dan more patient. Kudos to him. SOS demanded perfection or the visor got tossed. Each has a style that works for them.

And yes Mullen managed to make something out of Franks in a short time. Franks still reverts to some old habits that were a product of a lifetime of zero coaching/bad coaching.

That was a beat down from the beginning. Those 2 Nebraska teams were unstoppable.
