Harris poll numbers are worse than Brandon. Will be interesting to see how the Dems plan for 2024. If I was forced to pick who is the nominee this far out I guess the safest pick would be Warren who would get many of those Bernie voters also. I just don't see Harris even if she takes over but I guess the Dems and media could use the SC primary again to start derailing the leading candidate possibly.
Hardest part for this segment of the board is recognizing that Trump makes moderate women (right, wrong or otherwise) lose their mind and vote democrat. Women like DeSantis because while he is tough, reasonable and clear. He puts families and kids first. It is not an ego play for him. He can also go on MSM and more than hold his own in a reasonable and clear way.
Trump is a profoundly important actor as long as his health continues. Any liberal will tell you and agree with that.
Why, in part, has Biden failed so miserably? The MSM cannot devolve into TDS on a daily basis. Big Tech's / the Left's largest blunder? Banning Trump from Twitter. They automatically made him disciplined.
R also needs a non-white male as the running mate. The United States must be able to afford unlimited opportunity - for all of it's (critical point here) Citizens. Black, brown, female, male, asian, etc. Continuing to run an all white ticket only feeds the narrative for the other side.

For messaging in that segment, you need to hit hard on all of the above, and not let CNN/PBS go wild on some story that makes your candidate look like a loose cannon, racist, etc. When you talk about clean energy, you do it in terms of energy independence so that we can keep gas under $3.00/gallon while protecting the environment.
They represent the swing votes in all the swing districts that, taken together, represented the 45,000 voters that was the difference between Trump winning and losing.
Electorally, the biggest issues facing R is the flight of college educated white women and what is happening with illegal immigrants who are coming, in droves, because in the democratic primary, they said that they would de-criminalize border crossings and give a broad swath of government benefits. At the margin, that hurts R.
What Trump does better than anyone, is get out his base. As this board illuminates on a second by second basis, there is an evangelical fury behind him. When he gets undisciplined, he alienates the middle.
That is the consideration for the R party right now as the right is not enough to win any general election, even with the electoral college.

Trump dominated DeSantis in the CPAC straw poll both last year and this year. Only Trump haters want DeSantis to run in 2024, as that option hurts Florida AND hurts DeSantis.
If DeSantis waits till 2026, it greatly improves the state of Florida as well as DeSantis' chances of winning.
But as always, unless we ensure election integrity, the Republicans could run Abe Lincoln with Ronald Reagan as his VP, and still lose* to a ticket of Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren.

I think DeSantis is the clear 2nd choice if Trump doesn't run as he has basically copied Trump's persona with the media and the rest. A lot of people also forget Trump literally flipped his status in the GOP primary for Governor as Putnam had a double digit lead on him and then Trump endorsed and almost immediately flipped it to a double digit advantage over Putnam.
Yep I knew it was that Scott. As far as our Senator I have liked him as Governor and Senator as far as policy but the guy was behind one of the biggest medicare stealing crimes there ever was but due to never talking about things in emails and texts escaped charges.
