A slap in God's face

This thread went exactly as I expected. I try to get people to use their brain instead of mindlessly following what they’ve been told.

It gets down to this. Jesus was infallible. The people who wrote the bible, whomever they are, weren’t . . Put your faith in God, not a book written by some ancient scribes. .

Is that a fact or opinion?
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matt 7:23
"I am the way and the truth ... the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

You are trying so hard to troll here.

You were given the solution to your problem: Pray to God for understanding, THEN read the Bible.

And then pray to God for forgiveness for your troll attempts here. This is a new low, even for you.

That's a God-given fact to accept Christ into your life and live with inner peace. Your atheism will be your undoing. Hell is real.
I’m not an atheist. And you don’t speak for God.

Is your automatic response when someone challenges your beliefs is to tell them they are going to hell?

That’s not what I asked. Now who’s cherry picking.

Not everyone who shouts Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, only those who do the will of my father.

I don't think that's it I think @BSC911 simply has massive insecurity over his intelligence. If you will notice, anyone here claiming to be intelligent upsets him. All it took was Sunny mentioning a test he took and @BSC911 still can't forgive him years later. Talk of scripture always sets him off and he launches into an attack as he did here. He sees it as his personal mission to prove that the Christians don't understand scripture as well as they claim. I believe he sees it as Christians rubbing his nose in the fact that they can read the same Bible he attempts to read, and get something he can't see out of it.

When in reality, the Christians here are simply sharing God's word. But to an insecure man, it becomes something more.

He was given the solution to his problem: Pray to God for understanding But that can only happen if @BSC911 is willing to put his ego aside and admit that he needs help understanding.

Seems he can't do that. Attacking others that he views as smarter than himself is all he can do. And since he seems to attack most everyone here.....well you get the idea.

You are playing a dangerous game imho.
Why? We are merely having a conversation. Can your faith not withstand some questioning? Does God only want blind followers?

I use my God given brain to justify my faith. Why are some so offended by that.

Jesus Christ. You know, the reason for Paul's crusade and the Church built in 3 days forming the New Testament and Christian faith.
Sorry, of course I know it’s attributed to Jesus. But how do you KNOW he said it. Because it’s written in a book?

Faith is not something you see with your eyes, in fact, Jesus removed Paul's vision before he could see the truth.
Very true. But faith alone doesn’t make something true, either. Many people have misguided faith in a lot of things.

Obviously you are entitled to your own opinion, but I don’t believe faith is enough.

If God, through the Holy Spirit, inspired me to write a book, would you take me at my word?

The Word is already written, so, no. I would dismiss you the same as false prophets Mohammed or Joseph Smith.

You're the one who believes in your abilities to discern Christ and the Bible. Such cannot be and never is possible in the will of sinful, human flesh. Only through the Holy Spirit can one gain such discernment. And yes, if you continue on like you're doing your end-game is Hell. You cannot see the Lord through human eyes like you're trying to.

Those are the only eyes God gave me. And the only brain. And my God tells me to question everything, lest I be led astray by charlatans.

And my God wouldn’t want me to speak for Him, as you are doing. That is the height of vanity, and is therefore sinful. Only God determines who is going to heaven or hell, thank you very much.

2 Timothy 2:15

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Based on this verse, it's obvious that the Lord wants us Christians to speak for Him. It is by this that people know we follow Christ. You have been misguided by your own unbelief and it's sticking out like a sore thumb.

Wow...Jesus sent out his disciples to be fishers of men. That meant spreading the Gospel, Sir. We are all commanded to do this very thing.

See, there you go again, pretending to know my beliefs. Certainly God has no problem with you spreading the word. Where you cross the line is by stepping into God’s shoes to determine who is going to heaven or Hell. The Bible is pretty clear that is sinful.

PS. Was it Jesus that spoke these words?

See above. I was talking about things that are left to God’s judgment alone.

The threat of hell is for everyone that disobeys God's word, especially the New Covenant with Jesus Christ. We are to hold each other accountable but only God can judge our souls. None of us will make it on good works alone. Not Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Billy Graham, or King James. The only way to salvation is through the sacrifice of Jesus' body and his cleansing blood.

Nor am I claiming anything different. But the Bible also says you can’t reach salvation thru faith alone. One must obey God’s commandments.

But my point to Bayou Gator is that he should not be claiming who God decides will be going to hell. That’s blasphemy.

True and repent and try to live in obedience. Not just prop up your feet and wait to be saved, God still wants us to reach others that do not know his Gospel. We only have a short time on earth and with every minute we waste another soul leaves without knowing Christ.

Agree. Where we disagree is that through Christ is the only way.. But that’s for another day.

And of course my Churh, and the Bible, claims you must receive absolution as well.

So your beliefs, solely based on faith, disappear when you lose that faith. Therefore mine, being supplemented through logical reasoning (see Aquinas), has a much stronger foundation.

Nope. I would pray to God first that He would lead me to works that benefit me and help me bring glory to Him.

If He led me to your book, I would read it.

Do you think your posts in this thread are bringing glory to God?

Henceforth, it's YOU who lack faith in the Lord. This can very well be your undoing as I stated earlier. Rather than debate a lost cause like yourself, here's a link to faith-based scriptures that can heal your egregious and arduous unbelief.

  • Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
    Hebrews 11:1
  • For we live by faith, not by sight.
    2 Corinthians 5:7
  • Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
    Mark 11:24
  • Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
    John 11:40

That’s great. Now show me the verse where he gave you the power to determine who is going to hell.

Btw, none of those versus say Faith is the only way to salvation,. But it’s good to know that whatever I ask for in prayer I will receive.

Repeating God's word isn't judgment, it is repeating a fact.

God has told us how to enter Heaven, and what will keep us out. Just like He told us that homosexuality is a sin.

Repeating God's word isn't judgment.

How about you click the link in my previous post and you'll see such verses confirm it. You're obviously scared to admit that you are wrong about all of this. You confirmed your errant stance when you stated;

"So your beliefs, solely based on faith, disappear when you lose that faith. Therefore mine, being supplemented through logical reasoning (see Aquinas), has a much stronger foundation."

You're a lost soul. This much is obvious to everyone on these boards.

No one is Lost before the Lord. He still has time to save himself.

He will have to put aside his pride and ego first. That could take some doing, but he has the choice.

Faith without works is dead.
James 2:14

i can always tell when someone isn’t comfortable enough in their faith when they get upset when their beliefs are challenged. I am confident in my faith. You appear not to be. Faith is a process, not a destination.

What faith? Faith in Aquinas? It isn't faith in God that's for certain. You're throwing your lack of faith off on others, or trying to. But it isn't working as the rest of us can see.

Unbelief........thy name is @BSC911

Question for you. Will faithful homosexuals go to hell?
