#9 Note Dame -7 tonight?

Die stupid Holes!!!!!

Norvill wasn’t looking fit last night. Looks like he’s been having carbs. I think that sugar rush made him ice his kicker.

The perfect outcome.

FSU, with a win would have been given a ton of momentum. Didn't want that, so they had to lose the game. But didn't want the Domers to gain any momentum either. With ND looking bad in the win, they aren't being looked at as potentially elite any more. So they both kind of lost. 👍

ND has been overrated the last several years as they get exposed when they have to play a real team when they have made the playoffs. This ND team isn’t as good as any of those other ND teams so they will be exposed much sooner if they haven’t already

The perfect outcome is always the Holes getting blown out.
We don’t want their fanbase full of hope.

As cliched as it sounds, this was a moral victory for the Noles, especially with the impressive performance of McKenzie and the fact that they didn’t collapse when they were behind by 18.

Norvell got a little ahead of himself a couple of times, but he had the team prepared and more mentally resilient than they’ve been in years.

Note Dame was overrated at #9, but they deserve credit for marching into Doak and eeking out a win against a surprisingly solid FSU.

Gotta give FSU credit, considering the last 3-4 years they have had, they played well tonight. At no point in time did they just kick the bucket and have the team collapse and give up.

Something we haven't seen in years from them now. Be magnanimous and give credit where it's due. If they hold out and play like that every week, no doubt they will be ranked come time we play them. Easily of all the ACC teams I watched this weekend, they played the best. Take that for what you will based on if you think ND is good, great, mediocre, or what have you. FSU didn't play like they had lost the game before the coin flip as we have seen the past several years now.

I said it last year they wouldn't be down forever and it was a true kick in the teeth that we didn't get to play them in 2020 when we had possibly our best team since the last national title and they had one of their worst. Guaranteed wins in this series are hard to come by and we got cheated out of one in 2020. Gonna have to work for it in 2021 if they keep getting better.

I won't make jokes about Warchant tonight as this board isn't exactly the life of the party these days either. Hopefully Gene Williams has some other form of employment though other than living off of Warchant subs. (he is offering free 30 day subscriptions to warchant.com on his post game podcast right now for what it's worth)

The Dear Dottie may have to publicly execute a few generals to inspire the necessary zeal to achieve Juche.

In fairness to Notre Dame, they’ve been overrated since the Reagan Administration.

Yep I doubt ND can go undefeated. If they don't it gives Clemson a spot if they win out now. There should be at least one Power 5 conference winner with 2 losses.

FSU is better than they've been the last few years, IMO. The transfer portal has helped quite a bit. I enjoyed watching them lose a heartbreaker, but agree with the consensus that Notre Dame, as always, is overrated.

Warchant? That's still a thing?

I didn’t see it. Is that really what he said? Yes he’s a prick but he has always been a prick. He should look in the mirror. He’s part of the problem.

Yea he said something to the effect of he likes execution and he would like to start with some on his team LOL

Norvell iced his own kicker with that long ass review.
Which had it worked out the other way, missed the 50, made the 37, Norvell would have been hailed a hero. He actually made the right call, it just didn't work out.

Should have called for the review right after the play. Not right before the snap.
Once you snap the ball, you can't review the play before.

Here's the exact quote. Of course he wasn't serious, but just bad form; especially after his team won.

“I’m in favor of execution,” Kelly said during the post-game interview on the field after the game. “Maybe our entire team needs to be executed after tonight.”

Our d line is much better. Linebackers are still not great and we don't have a shut down corner but Brownlee wasn't afraid to pop the running back when he bounced it. ND rushed for only 65 yards on us when last yr they put up 350. I know they replaced their line but we couldn't tackle last yr. Not a great defense but at least we aren't giving up 42 by halftime (yet)

I agree, our D-line is MUCH better...average play at linebacker and I was pretty impressed with #18 (Jay). He had some really great plays.

Jelly-Belly-Kelly has never been an original thinker, and the Neutered Lame have been over-rated since before the NE Media Morons voted them their last NC way back in 1988....

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head football coach John McKay (1923-2001) was asked by a reporter after a loss what he thought about the execution of the team’s offense. “I’m in favor of it (execution—ed.),”

McKay replied. The joke quickly became a sports classic. The line has been cited in print since at least November 22, 1979.

The real winner of the game was Disney/ABC/ESPN. It looks like the television ratings were huge.

The Nielsen families apparently had just time-warped in from the early 1990s and got excited when they saw Notre Dame@FSU.

Gotta admit…with the play getting better and the crowd into it, it made sadgator a little nervous about what is to come…which is a good thing for FSU…

Friends who were there said the atmosphere was electric, unlike they've experienced in a very long time. The team never quit which I thought for certain they'd have folded like a cheap plastic chair down by 18. We haven't had a moral victory win since our 2011 loss to OU--the turning point in a program that led to the 2013 Natty.

We'll see if they build on it next week or come out flat. Time will tell, but I certainly would love a good game between UF and FSU this year!

Didn't Jacksonville State just blow the game against FSU some years back and was beating you for a while last season?

I don’t know about the Oklahoma game being the turning point. My memory is hazy, but didn’t FSU go on to lose the next two games to Clemson and Wake?

I think the turning point was the Notre Dame game at the Champs Sports Bowl later that year. It was similar to the most recent game except FSU actually came back and won.

Not from a W-L perspective, but our team was learning how to not just fold and throw in the towel. Yes, we lost the next two by a total of 10 points, but then went on a 5 game win streak, losing to UVA, beating FL then you are correct that beating ND was huge to close out the season. 2 years later we won a Natty.
