2024-25 Basketball,,, all things considered...

It's really great to see how this team doesn't panic, we're a 2nd half team.. Like a running football team with good defense, we just slowly beat teams up and wear them out.. Our guys just stick to the plan and keep pounding away on both sides of the floor after that 22-2 run.. It's just wild how we can look so awful in games and then still score 80 and win and cover double digit spreads on the road anyway.. We need Condon back asap

It's wild Chinyelu was the leading scorer too, I mean if we have multiple bigs with double doubles like how the hell do you beat us? The production always comes from SOMEWHERE.. our Senior guard didn't score a single point but made two huge plays on defense that led to 6 points from steals, Klav scores huge buckets timing wise whenever he does give us those 5 points each game now.. Like Clayton and our guards haven't even gone off from 3 in awhile and we just keep on rolling. We finally went cold for us at least from 3 today and only hit 7.. and still scored 79, this team is really good man.. even when they are bad

Keep in mind in the battle of #1 seeds - (UF/Duke/Bama/TN) - games involving Tennessee, SC, and Georgia are critical for evaluation. Any time those teams wins - especially Georgia and SC - it helps UF's profile and #'s since we played those teams twice in SEC this year. Great win for SC - moved to 89 from 94 just behind FSU. Georgia continues sliding - now down to 41 just behind Arky

As a side note LSU dropped to 81 from 78 (hopefully they can find a way to top 75)

All these results currently have Florida 4th in Net (Auburn, Duke & Houston are top 3, with Tenn & Bama 5th & 6th)

Props to coach Golden. LSU was determined to take away our guards and force the bigs to win the game (which they did). How many coaches would have continued to jack up 3’s?
This team is blessed with not only great unselfish players but a coach that knows how to use them.

Yep I can't remember how many times White didn't adjust and we blew leads in very winnable games. Seems like it was almost half of our losses some seasons.

Hard to see Auburn not being the #1 overall seed if they win the SEC regular season. We just need Houston to be a #1 seed and us a #1 seed or to be in the top 3 of the # 1 seeds to avoid getting stuck in the West regional.

But hey, Lon Kruger was a much more adaptable and a better coach.... 🙄

Kruger took Florida to its first ever Final Four and made two Final Four appearances as a coach. Kruger also won the Big 10 conference.

White never won a big conference or made a Final Four but I am sure Magical Mike White and his leghumpers are hoping to derail our #1 seed hopes in a game they can't lose if they want an NCAA bid without needing a run in the SECT.

White who?
Oh, you mean the guy that I never bring up, but that some of you can't let go of,,, that White???

Subtlety is lost on dogbone chewers it seems.... (but I'm still LMFAO at U)

We know you wouldn't mind Magical Mike White putting us fans, that led White to leave, in our place for that game.

Too bad Whit
One of the things that limited Haugh and Condon's playing time was fouls. They've got to learn to play solid defense, rebound and block shots without fouling. Both should take big steps forward in their sophomore years.

Too bad Mike White ran off when he had left the Gators....

A win is a win,,, but another ugly win imo....

Still playing down to the level of competition. Hoping it doesn't continue and bite them in the butt...

And while I’m on it, just who did Duke beat? Auburn at home barely. They did, however lose to Kentucky, Clemson and Kansas. And how are those teams doing. Well Kentucky is a middling SEC team and Kansas is completely out of the bogus top 25.
Now I feel better.

The odds are Florida will lose again this season. You're not exactly going out on a limb here...
Yep - 4 more regular season games left. @georgia tonight, then hosting Texas A&M, @Alabama, then hosting Ole Miss to close out the regular season. No SEC game is a gimme, especially road games. Then the SEC tournament. Just hope if they lose 1 it's before the NCAA tournament starts!

Really need to beat Georgia or @Bama probably is a must win to get a #1 seed. I think Georgia would probably have to win a few SECT games to make the tournament if they lose to us also.

I harbor no ill will towards Coach White and I hope he makes the big dance. I just don’t want it to be because they beat us.

Well he is a leghumper now but I am glad he willingly left us like that. If he didn't leave and got another season we wouldn't be where we are right now.

If we do beat Georgia who needs this win badly there is a decent chance we might control their tournament fate in the SECT. If we lose @ Bama and get the #3 seed we would likely be the Game Georgia needs to win to make the NCAAT because their 2 prior games against lower seeds If they do advance won't be big wins.

Candidly, beating AM and Ole Miss at home will give us a bigger lift than the drop from losing on the road to uga and bama. Dawgs are desperate and at home. Will be a tough one tonight

Bama has a tough finishing schedule. I think it would be better for us to get a 2 seed and get Atlanta than be the 4th # 1 seed and get California. We might need to beat Bama to be the 3rd #1 seed and avoid California depending on their other games. Houston getting a 1 seed would solve the issue also.

I think the thing most of us like about this Gator BB team is the chemistry. It's AWESOME!

The bright spot in the Gator's recent play imo is this: 18.3 Ast/Gm -- TEAM!

That number shouldn’t be understated. Efficient ball movement and multiple players being involved makes life miserable for opposing defenses. And, where there are assists, there must be points. Florida has now had five-straight games with at least five players scoring in double-figures, the longest streak in program history. While over the last six games, the Gators have been down one of their main starters each time. Who has stepped up? The dual 6th Man candidates in the iG's oho. SF Haugh and CG Aberdeen.

In Five out of the last six games, Aberdeen has scored in double-digits with 20-point efforts in two of them. Haugh logged at least 16 points in four out of the last five and has dished out at least three assists in five of the last six, which includes an 8-assists outing in the win over Mississippi State. Both can fill in for multiple positions, and both play fierce defense. Those missing games injured included CG Martin, CG Clayton, PF/C Condon.

Another that has stepped up admirably is CG Urban Klavzar with his strong defense and excellent 3 Pt shooting (10/17, 59%). I really like this guys efforts going forward....

Last year Zion Pullin was the primary assist guy, being a true point guard. This year, assists are being spread around and the bigs have improved their passing a lot. So a defense can't just focus on choking out the main distributor because all of our guys are capable of making key passes.

Making great passes for points by a teammate is infective and addictive. The more that do it successfully, the more that want to be a part of that success story party. TEAM! GoooooooooooGATORS!
