I think I heard them say this was the first time in 8 years no Florida high school kid was drafted in the first round.

How far does Tabor drop due to those 40 times?

When does Brantley get taken? I think most would have thought he would be gone by the end of the 2nd round round before that mess popped up.

Looking at how that slotting system controls the pay for rookies now you take a pretty big hit for just missing the 1st round and being the top pick of the 2nd round (losing about 1.2 million in signing bonus, roughly 4.2 million down to 3 million, and about 1.6 million in total contract value).

Also thinking of what could happen to Brantley possibly - just going from mid 2nd round to mid 3rd round costs a player close to 1.2 million in signing bonus (1.9 million signing bonus down to 750K or so) and about 1.9 million in total contract value.

Also we were 4th in total rookie contract value last year.

I'm happy for Jared Davis. Goes to show you what hard work can do for a player. Nobody would have thought he was a first rounder back when he was being recruited.

What has happened to Dalvin Cook? Are his off the field issues coming back to bite him? He's easily a first round talent.

Well for a while RBs didn't make the 1st round too often. I have a feeling him or Fournette wont have great careers and will be gone in a few years. Fournette I think could even get labeled a big bust going as high as he did.

The future short order Cook >>> ACC

Fournette, Size & Speed Combo >>> SEC

Nuff said.... ;)

I think cook will have the better career. Look at fournette against bama. Im bias but Cook is a monster and slid becuz of his past. Not his skillz.

look at what vs bama? A predictable offense that's designed to fail against bama with zero threat in the passing game? Bama shut down plenty of lsu nfl backs because of that les miles shit offense and orgeron was running the exact nonsense this year

Did I miss where Tabor went?

And Brantley?

Hmmm. These kids never learn.

Brantley definitely cost himself a bunch of money. Most had him going 2nd round to very early 3rd at the latest. If he would have went mid 2nd round he has lost around 1.3 million in signing bonus and over 2 million in contract money even if he is taken early in the 4th round.

Surprised Wilson didn't go before some of those other DBs. I can see teams being a little nervous about Tabor's forty time or he would have been 1st round for sure.

Plenty of people had success against bama. Leonard looked like a small child in a big boi game. His true colors were shown

What? I don't think Fournette will be a great pro but Bama only allowed one RB to even reach 60 yards the whole season. There was only a few games that Bama even allowed a 50 yard rusher.

Clemson walked all over them 2 yrs in a row. Im talking about good teams, not the cream puffs in the SEC. Anytime the other team could even slightly throw the ball, they had success. However, fournette looked downright avg against them.

U dont think cook would have had success? Look at mich, they shut down everybody, go against cook and got eaten alive

Are you claiming Clemson's RBs ran all over Bama this year? They averaged about 2 yards a carry against Bama. What does passing success have to do with someone running the ball in Bama's case at least. They shut down the other team's running game even when they were getting passed on.

Whether Cook or Fournette has the better career really depends on which teams they end up with, right? In the NFL, if your O-line isn't any good the RB isn't going to be productive.

Cook/Mixon >>>>>>> Fournette who's a one trick pony:eek:

Both cook/ Mixon have 4.3 speed who can run in between tackles and outside with break away speed. Both excellent receivers. Mixon has better hands than most WR in the draft:cool::cool:

When was the last time a guy had success against them in a pro style that they always shut down? Cook would have had the same exact fate, especially with that OL getting pushed back every snap... What about this is so hard for you to understand? His true colors? lmao if you think that's going to have anything to do with his production or ability at the next level, every LSU offense has looked exactly the same against Bama since 2011 with plenty of talented backs that played in the league... Every team that doesn't spread it out against Bama does nothing, how is Fournette going to do anything when they have ZERO pass threat with zero qb play and they know what's coming? Every game they have played for 7 years has been exactly the same no matter how good the back was for LSU in that pathetic outdated Miles offense with pathetic QB's... They even lost to UF's terribly average at best team because of it

And Anzalone went to the Saints, haven't seen who went today besides Eddie Jackson in the SEC... Bears continue to embarrass themselves and just drafted another guy from nowhere kutztown state lol, and the only player in the draft that highlight reel began with basketball highlights lol.... All after trading up the farm to draft driskel 2.0 with the uh ya know the SECOND OVERALL PICK IN THE DRAFT. That franchise is now as dead as the Cleveland browns and trying to out do them now, and succeeding well at it...

Except with the draft Cleveland is having, they may very well be moving in the right direction.

Chicago is going to walk away with 5 picks.

A guy who they traded two drafts away to get that would have fallen to them anyway (and I seriously doubt how good he's going to be).

A basketball player from Ashland.

A 5'7" RB from NC AT.

A 310 pound 6'3" guard from Kutztown.

But hey, we got safety help from Bama's Eddie Jackson.

Awful draft.

What are you talked about? If you can't throw, people will sellout to stop the run. Alabama already had the D-line advantage. Look at Gurley on the Rams. The guy is an amazing running back who couldn't get anything going because his offense can't throw and his line gets beaten.

He didnt have any problem against auburn. Want to know why? Bama is better competition. Fournette will be out of the nfl in 3 yrs. Hes trent richardson 2.0

It shocks me that wilson went before tabor and Caleb went 6th rd. I thought tabor was a 1st round talent. Brantley at least rd 2 or 3 and wilson 3 or 4. Nfl is so weird sometimes

Brantley's 'off the field' problems finally bit him in his big dumb azz....

Tabor's 4.7 40 dropped him it seems.

2. S Marcus Maye -- Jets (39) A HS 4 Star
2. CB Quincey Wilson -- Colts (46) A HS 4 Star
2. CB Jalen Tabor -- Lions (53) A consensus HS 5 Star

Not really a lot of difference between those 3 guys, with all going in the 2nd round.

Last year Hargreaves and Neal both went in the 1st Rnd, while Brian Poole (a HS 5 Star) was a F/A signing. But Poole quickly became a starter and started as a rookie in the Super Bowl for the Falcons.
============

1. LB Jarrad Davis -- Lions (21) Was a HS 3 Star

3. LB Alex Anzalone -- Saints (76) Was a consensus HS 5 Star

College rankings don't always pan out, and neither do NFL draft choices.

Mixon and Cook would have been top 15 had they ( their fault) not had off the feild issues. Mixon is the most talented:cool:

You're probably to stupid to realize this, but an average 8 year old female Gator fan's opinions carries more weight than your's does here....

And this 'Pick Order' is Fact, not opinion:

The 4th Pick was Fournette 6-0 240 - SEC
(with 2 more RB's between him and Cook/Mixon)
Not even in the First Round:

The 41st pick was the future short order Cook 5-10 210 - ACC
The 48th pick was the dust-bowl choker Mixon 6-1 226 - Big12/10/whatever

Snivel and try to excuse it in any way you like...
