Well, finally passed 150,000 miles today on this old thing!
I took it to a local guy a few months ago, outside St Pete’s and he said it was probably the best shape he’d ever seen for a car that age.
He said the motor, transmission, everything was in tip top shape.

I drive the speed limit mind you, but the thing I do is wax it twice a month and always get the frame sprayed off a few times a month, just by taking it to one of those do it yourself places and taking the wand and spraying underneath.

oil changed ever 2k miles, which I do myself.

Never thought I’d say this back in the 80s….butHonda makes a great vehicle.

You're lucky the transmission didn't go out on you. Of course, the little cars didn't have that trouble like the bigger vehicles did.

Had a Honda where the transmission died while driving on US 95. Never again. Me and my RAV4 are very happy together.

I’ve kept up with it on the inside too.
some folks might want to laugh, but I got stretchy seat covers on the front and got a cover for the back seats too.

I know I look a little silly being so tall, so heavy riding in a Accord, but it’s done me fine!
I told this one lady who worked with us…every time I get out of the car it feels like a magic trick!

The only thing that drove me nuts is that I had to drive one person to a therapy center for a while who smoked, bless his heart.

He added a bit to the seat, but I would clean it out every time.

Toyota's last the longest. Changing the oil every 2k miles? That's a bit extreme but good for you buddy. I change my oil about every 5-8k and take care of it. I'm pretty happy with my Kia so far believe it or not but my buddy is totally against the GDI motors...said that they pistons burn oil. Sure enough I just got a letter in the mail from Kia for them to put some safety monitor on my car in order to warranty the motor. Good thing my car is getting another 8 miles per gallon, it will surely save the world.

Yeah, I change it myself, and it’s kind of relaxing doing it so I don’t mind.
oh, and there’s a dollar store that I go by that actually sells my oil for next to nothing!

Poor child.
Always looking for a way to get more attention by saying the worst.
Like I told you before, no need to reply….

Why do you have a bumper sticker with something like that On it?
Why would you buy such a thing and waste your money?

Ironic considering Toyota is the least reliable import brand in the USA. You put your life in your hands when you drive one of those.

Passenger side door flew off of a 2 week old Tacoma on one of the other workers here at UF a few years back as he was driving to Ocala. He took that thing back and had it returned that day.

Must have bought his Toyota from the racist dipsh*t in the Argyle area in Jax, Keith Pierson.

That yankee from from lord knows where, the one with the Asian wife? Tell me more. Youngerman Circle is the armpit of America. You could not pay me 200K to live within 10 miles of the Blanding Blvd Devil's Triangle. 😂 Where you at?

I live on Beauclerc. I actually grew up on the Westside before the area became a sh1thole. My parents live in Ortega while my kids went to Oakleaf High. Ex wife lives in Oakleaf.

When I first moved from Lake City to Jax I lived in Mandarin, bought a house when that whole area was quiet and nice. Hell, I remember when Beuaclerc had a golf course. Hooters on Goodby's Creek was one of my stomping grounds back in the day, when titties were more important than beer and wing quality. 😂 Got way too crowded for me, fled to the beaches area. Now it sucks too. I hate cities. Oakleaf is in the middle of BF Egypt, my doc used to be there, hated driving there. And to hell with that toll road. They can kiss my ass as well. I could bitch about Duval and Clay Counties until the cows come home. I have to come back Monday for a couple of weeks, then I'm outta there for another month. Wife won't let me sell that house because of her family being there. Does OJ do contract work? 😂

Tacoma's are assembled in Texas. Used to be anyway. Honestly sounds like an assembly problem.

I have no choice but to drive out to Oakleaf to see the grandkids. I hated driving to Oakleaf but I didn't want to miss my youngest playing football and baseball.

Wow, you are 100% wrong. Toyota is a great brand. I've got 4 kids in Corollas, all over 100K miles, not a problem with any of them.

I currently have 4 Toyota's. All fantastic cars.

Had a 2002 Avalon. Once my wife and I were done with it, I had two nephews and one niece drive it until it had 250k plus on it. It would still be on the road save one gigantic ass deer.

I've owned a Honda before, a Prelude. It sucked balls, POS. I'm still driving my 2003 Toyota Tundra truck, 355k miles on it.......why? Because I'm one cheap SOB, and it gives me damn few problems, I just religiously change the oil every 3,000 miles. I've abused it in the woods on hunting trips, you name it, can't kill it. I'll probably never sell it, just use it for a junk wagon when I buy something new.

Sounds like you are good with your money and stretching a dollar to its limit. Can you talk to @BSC911? Or better yet, just let him borrow $9.95 so he can pay his Rivals bill? Thanks.

Both Honda and Toyota are great brands. The ones from the 90s and early 2000s definitely had much better reliability than their American counterparts. Nissans do ok but don't seem to be quite as reliable as Toyotas and Hondas in my experience.

The inside of Crapple’s Honda smells like a mix of Applebee’s Neighborhood beef nachos and Drakkar Noir….

Good to see @sadgator got the spine to finally post on the Lounge again.

Oh wait....he was forced to come here, nevermind. While you are here, what happened to the victory laps over Hiden's handling of covid? Why did you run off with your tail begin your thighs?

We just hired a long time QC manager in the automotive industry. She said Toyota has taken a massive dive in nuisance quality control over the last decade.

A door falling off is obviously past “nuisance” however.

I drive a like new 2007 PT Cruiser with 144,000 miles. There's little sold in America I can't drive from now on. Lucky for auto makers, few give their autos proper care and maintenance.

This x100.

Honda had a transmission issue with the Odyssey (minivan) but both are EXTREMELY reliable and a great value given the price.

You should never need to wax it that often unless you are buying cheap shit from Wal Mart. If it has 'Turtle' or 'Armor' in the name, you might as well put acid on your paint.

Do the research and invest in some quality products. You should never need to wax more than once a month if you get professional grade products and do the prep work on your paint.

I wash my truck about twice a month and wax it no more than 4 times a year. I had it for 9 years and barely any scratches except for debris that falls from some of those dump trucks on the interstate.
I only use Meguiars products, mainly their Carnauba wax. I do use Meguiar quick wax after each wash.

Meguiars makes a few decent products on the shelf. Their high tech yellow wax #26 is decent. If you have a Harley dealership close by check out S100 paste wax, it's about $15 a jar but looks good on white and silver cars.

I told my kids to keep their hands off anything Armor All and Turtle Wax. Of course, those little sh1ts use my products to clean their vehicles rather than buy their own when they visit me. Meguiars ain't cheap either. I also heard the S100 paste wax is some awesome ish.

Compared to Meguiars, it gives a slightly wetter look. But doesn't last more than a week or two.

If you really want to get some good shit that won't break the bank, check out Poorboy's World. Their Liquid Natty's Red is my fav wax, and I've paid $100 for wax before. This stuff is better.

Plus, it's a Florida company! They have everything you need.

Wife(now ex) and I bought a brand spanking new 2000 Honda Accord. Of course, she left me to drive an older Camry which her parents bought for her as a grad gift. A few years after the Accord was paid off, we purchased a Lexus ES350. Of course, she passed the Accord for me to drive. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Accord until the AC made rattling noises, and the motor brackets as well as the alternator bracket broke. Alternator bracket was easy to replace but thank God my nephew has a neighbor who lives on about 2 acres of land and has his own garage on his property and replaced the motor brackets for a few hundred bucks less than what the dealership would charge me.

After my divorce, I sold my Accord for more than what I expected. This is how I own a Ford F150 to this day.
Oh and the auto lock on my Honda Accord also went to sh1t.

My Civic would be at 200k right now if some jackass in an SUV hadn't t-boned me on US-17 in the way to the liquor store.

Oh and Crapple, when the cop got there after an hour and a half ( way to protect and serve, JSO), even though HE was at fault, guess who got a sobriety test and then cuffed and stuffed in the name of "officer safety."

Here's a hint, it wasn't the white guy and his big mouth girlfriend.

And yes i was ricing hardcore, rims, bass, body kit/spoiler, and an exhaust that sounded like a swarm of bees.

Lol I washed my 97 Honda twice in the time I owned it. That's what rain is for.
