As of 07 August 2020, 183,409 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK.

This more of an apples to apples because of population sizes.
Reminder Sweden and South Korea did not shutdown. China still has cases but we cant trust any data or rather the lack of data from them . Unless they are exempt from the laws of nature they should have near a million deaths.

Both. We have one of the lowest death rates per confirmed cases and one of the higher death rates per 1 million population

There are so many more promising treatments than HCQ. One is being trialed here in Houston. But yet all we ever hear from you Trumpers is HCQ. I wonder why that is. Hmmmm.

Because its cheap, being effectively used in at least the 4 countries mentioned lowering their CFR to at least below 2.5%, available now, can be mass produced, could be used OTC as it is in some countries, can be a prophylaxis if OTC and gets everyone back up and running now without social distancing or masks if using as a prophylaxis.
Oh and EU with 330M+ people have 180K+ deaths. Wonder how we blame that on Trump and his "response?" In other words your blame Trump narrative is FOS.
Even if true, that doesn't discount the fact that HCQ, zinc and Zithromax are showing very positive results as a prophylactic.

I've never been some HCQ fanatic, and most Trump voters I know are just saying they don't care if it's two baby aspirin and a Dr Pepper just get something done.

What's the truth about HCQ? Clearly you know as well as I do...it's useful under certain circumstances if caught early and it can make a positive impact. And that positive impact is needed. IT IS NOT A CURE, HOWEVER.
There’s no proof that it’s that effective. Sure some people get better, but so do people that take other treatments, or don’t take anything. That’s what clinical trials are for. My wife is taking something recommended by a nurse.
