He was confident but calculated in that part of the interview, as he came back and said we won’t win it if we have 16 turnovers and negative rebound margin.

Never seen Todd so mad before in-game. Man was going through every emotion between the refs and our early turnovers.

The team is perfectly constructed personnel wise.....
perfectly constructed .. won by double digits even with way way too many turnovers . cant have that many on Sat or Sunday .
Listening to Golden for the past few weeks and he reminds me of Spurrier and Meyer. He just oozes confidence.
I absolutely love his demeanor this year. He is growing and getting better every single game and it’s amazing to watch. He’s doing things I wanted so bad for Mike White to do. Perfect mix of getting on his team, getting on the refs, building up his team, using his media availability to speak to his players and so on.
The dude is in his mid 30’s and has a feel that many tenured coaches don’t have or don’t develop for many years. Even Billy D’s evolution as a coach was on going his first decade or so. TG is going to get so much better and he’s already up there with the best in the country imo
It’s easy to be confident with this squad. Condon has a so-so night? Oh here’s Tommy off the bench for 16, including 10-12 from the line. You’ve got 4/5 out of your starters, that you basically just expect to go for double digits, and if somebody doesn’t quite get there, you’ve got Haugh, and even a wildcard like Aberdeen to more than bridge the gap.
What a breathe of fresh air for a coach to speak his mind. Zero coach speak from Todd. Much respect for him.
Oh. And we have an absolute GIANT on the bench who’s going to be unstoppable next year.

I appreciate the sentiment but Todd is 39 and will be 40 in July so he's not in his middle 30's. Having said that, he's still very young. I wish I was actually 39 again instead of pretending every birthday that I am.

We are good enough to win for sure. But winning a tournament is difficult. One and done, Playing teams with little time to scout and prepare, etc. What was so great about the 06-07 team was that we could play any style depending on the opponent. This team is built the same.
This is something I wish our football coach talked about. Embrace it.

That was just retreading exactly what coach said except the language. They were referring to the offensive rebounds but that wasn't mentioned in his response. I have clarified the above statement to reflect that.

Exactly. That led to us taking 13 less shots than Missouri (and 5 less free throws) and still winning by 14. That doesn't happen very often!!!
I wanted to play Kentucky but Alabama had some sloppy moments against the Cats. I still don't like the matchup against the Tide but like a match against the Vols even less. Sounds dumb but some how I'd rather go up against Auburn of the remaining 3.
What's really great and remarkable is it's not that hot, it's closer to the truth than anything else ...

I'm pulling for Rioux as much as you are, but he's likely another season away from being fully ready.

There's no rush to get Rioux on the court next season, he's redshirting so he's got time. We'll probably see him get a few minutes off the bench next season to get acclimated to the game but not more than that.
I’m a casual fan. I thought he was red shirting due to his immigration stuff and not because he wasn’t ready.
Either way, I’m excited to see what he can do when he gets out there.

Yep, we just have to stay focused and not lay a giant egg because we weren't mentally prepared. I don't see that happening but it's the one thing that could derail us.
We are playing with a very high confidence level now and everyone has taken their game up a notch. We took every punch Tennessee and those refs could throw and just kept going.
This team reminds me so much of the 06-07s team. Every time someone gets close, we just step back on the gas again.
We don't have a weak link out there other than Klav a little on defense. Martin has really started making a huge difference lately, too.
So much depth and talent.

St. John's is the weakest 2. Texas Tech matches up very well as a 3. Maryland as a 4 lacks quality front court depth and the way our bigs run the floor Derik Queen will be crying for his mom playing 30+minutes. The 5 Memphis is trash and losing their first game. Kansas and UCONN are Kansas and UCONN in name only.
We are minus odds to win the region and second best odds behind Duke, Auburn and Houston are not minus odds.
