Some signing numbers

You can have 85 on scholarship. 25 counters each year that can roll forward if unused, and you get up to an extra 7 when replacing transfers out with transfers in.

We were at 85 starting this year. We lose 15 scholarship seniors and Elam to the draft. Maybe one of those guys like Ventrell gets a medical redshirt to return. That's 15 total spots available to add high school freshmen and/or portal players.

Right now we have 6 players who either transferred out or are in the portal. While that's 6 more spots to use towards the 85, we would only want to replace those guys with portal players. Otherwise you lose out on the 7 additional spots allotted that add to our 25 counter total. Until/unless we have more than 7 total players transfer out this year, the 85 man limit is going to prevent us from taking any more than 15 high school players max. And that's assuming that Napier doesn't want to go a little more portal heavy this first year and sign say 10 or even 15 guys from the portal.

On A. Thomas

Thomas can definitely be had by UF if they decide to circle back ASAP and get Raymond on him....not sure they will do this, but at a minimum if they call him and get him to delay signing early and get a chance to build the relationship UF can still get him....we will see what happens...not earth shattering but that is the sentiment close to that recruitment currently

Is Napier focused on Other State's more than Florida?

I am asking the question, after reading articles, and based on where many of the coaches have spent the first few days at recruiting. To de fair the relationships are already there with most of the players this staff has contacted, this also tells me his previous staff didn't reach into Florida as much, or Georgia. Louisiana is not a major program, that attracts big time talent 4-5 * kids, that's understandable. With that being said, on the way the transition has gone towards players we had committed, I hope and pray we dont make to many mistakes with some of these kids like Isaiah Bond, Jayden Gibson, CJ Smith seems as if he wants to clean house, and start totally from the ground up, which will really take time, and patience, what do some of you think thanks?

Two Quick Notes 12-12-21 7:00 PM

Little bit more on DT Shone Washington

Washington came up with Clyde Alexander and Jahkeem Stewart and they arrived around 6:00 PM. Stewart is a name I am sure you have not heard of because he is in the class of 2026!! 6-foot-5, 300-pounds from Reserve (LA) East St. John and yes Florida has offered him.

Alexander is the coach.

The first person to greet the trip was Coach Bolden. The student education center stood out for Washington because he has not seen a school yet with all of what UF has to offer. Some of the factors are mainly education because that will help him succeed and develop as a player and young man. Florida as you all know is tied with uga right now.

Chris McClellan and his dad are currently having dinner with the staff. Chris tells me things are going great so far. He will have a few more hours before they head out. Dead period starts in a few hours.
