Pre Season Softball Rankings. 2022

Last year Florida finished the season ranked number 10 after stumbling a little toward the end of the season and not making it to the College World Series. This years team with Hightower, Adams and Lugo returning, along with Transfer Skylar Wallace who had to sit out '21 after transferring from 'Bama, and some great Freshmen, has deemed to be decidedly better, and the team has been voted into the 5th spot in the rankings one spot ahead of FSU.

Here are the top 10.

Hayden told me it was awesome to see Billy Napier today. He and his family fully trust Napier and the plans he has set. He will go for his OV this weekend and he will shoot up our MLL and RZ list for sure. He is excited to meet the staff and see the campus. He tells me he is a dominating run blocker (255-pounds) that can also go down the field vertically and catch the ball...

JANUARY FRANCHISE OF THE MONTH AND MONTHLY CONTEST – GUESS THE FRANCHISE-GET 3 MONTHS FREE – OR JUST HUMOR ME!!! SPONSORED BY: MyPerfectFranchise.Net

Hey Florida friends!

Here’s the deal for my new year of sponsoring your site. I have 3 goals:

1) Have fun

2) Build relationships

3) Educate you all on the world of business ownership

I’ve thought hard about these goals and feel like the best way to hit goals #2 and #3 is to work hard on goal #1 of having fun. Since I’ve been on these boards for over 20 years now, I think I know the audience pretty well and that we should start with 2 contests each month to have a little fun. Here they are:

  • Guess the Franchise of the Month – winner gets 3 month sub comped by MyPerfectFranchise.Net
  • Guess something or say something so funny about said Franchise of the Month/Post and get 3 months comped*
*MPF has full subjectivity over this but can be swayed by comments and likes….but mostly comments.

Ok….so time to have so fun and learn a little bit in the process (hopefully!)

JANUARY FRANCHISE OF THE MONTH

  • Home Services Concept
  • High Margin/Short Turnaround
  • Semi-Absentee / Owner Operator Model
  • Home-Based, Quick to Open, Few Employees
  • In-House Call Center
  • True Franchise Support - Robust Franchisor Systems & Team
  • Family-Built Brand with great culture
  • Comprehensive Item 19 (Earnings claims)
  • Experienced Growth through pandemic

I will circle back in a few days with the actual name of the franchise of the month and report any winners as well.

Humor me y'all!!!

Will the Dawgs get / buy a 5* Transfer QB ?

Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams will enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Williams is coming off an outstanding season at Oklahoma that earned him a spot on the 247Sports True Freshman All-American Team.

He held on to the starting job for the rest of the year, completing 136 of 211 passes (64.6 pct.) for 1,912 yards with 21 touchdowns and four interceptions over 11 games. He also rushed for 442 yards and six touchdowns on 79 carries.

Per Blake Brockermeyer
Hearing from multiple sources Georgia is the top landing spot unless they get OUTBID.

Does this mean that top college football players will "shop out" their services using NIL ?

Oh My ! Will CFB becomes a pay for play minor league for the NFL.

Had a nice talk with Jacoby Mathews this morning

I had a friendly chat with Jacoby Mathews this morning. Jacoby called me this morning when I was out and about, but we had an excellent talk. He has been dealing with some phone issues, so it has not been easy to connect, but today we could speak. He talked about his familiarity with Coach Raymond and how important it was to him the new staff started recruiting him right away.

Like the rest of the world, he was stunned to hear the news Coach Raymond was heading to UF.
He has a couple of OV’s left he could make, but it sounds like UF this weekend and then LSU on the final weekend, which is always a bit scary. In-state kid, last OV is going to the in-state school.

Either way, he is extremely excited about visiting UF this weekend and getting this OV going. When he called me, he just spoke with Billy and said they had a great talk and were chopping it up regarding the weekend ahead. Jacoby should be bringing his parents and a sibling.

The third school he was thinking about making an OV with was Bama, but it sounds like that is falling off right now. Unless things change, it seems like UF and LSU battle.

Napier/Raymond/Toney will get their chance to get it done this weekend, and we will go from there.

Staff question for Higgy

The last few years have been brutal with you letting us know that the staff felt "great" about a player, only to see that dude go somewhere else. Probably one of the most frustrating things was how bad they were at actually reading the room.

Thus far, it seems like when this staff tells you they feel good about someone, it actually comes to fruition.

Are you getting the vibe that if these guys tell you they feel confident about someone, we can actually feel confident about them too? @JasonHigdon

Biondi, Leal Ready for Latin America Amateur Championship

Biondi, Leal Ready for Latin America Amateur Championship
The event tees off on Thursday at 6:15 a.m. ET.

Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic - Gator golfers Fred Biondi and Miguel Leal are set to play in the 2022 Latin American Amateur Championship (LAAC) beginning on Thursday.

The LAAC was formed in 2014 by the Masters Tournament, The R&A and the USGA in an effort to further develop amateur golf throughout the region, and specifically in South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. In 2015, the annual event debuted in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at Pilar Golf.

Former Gator Alejandro Tosti was the runner-up in the inaugural tournament in his freshman season after shooting 69-70-68-71 in 2015. Biondi will compete in the event for the fourth consecutive time (2021 was canceled due to Covid-19) and has made the cut each time, including a T6 (-6) finish in 2019. Leal is set to make his tournament debut.

The champion will receive an invitation to compete in the 2022 Masters Tournament, exemptions into The 150th Open at St Andrews, The Amateur Championship, the U.S. Amateur Championship and any other USGA amateur championship for which he is eligible and into sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open with an opportunity to earn a place in the 2022 U.S. Open.

Round one begins Thursday at 6:15 a.m. ET at the Teeth of the Dog in Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic. Coverage of the event will be on ESPN2/ESPNews.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida baseball was listed at No. 9 in D1Baseball's Preseason Top 25 rankings on Tuesday morning.

D1Baseball follows Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game in releasing preseason rankings, with Florida being listed at No. 6 and No. 23 in those two polls, respectively.
