Golden to Throw Out First Pitches on Friday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida men's basketball head coach Todd Golden, fresh off his introductory press conference on Wednesday, will stop by Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium and Florida Ballpark to throw out the first pitch at Friday's softball and baseball games.

Golden will start at softball, ahead of the sixth-ranked Gators' 6 p.m. battle with Tennessee and will join Kyle Crooks and Francesca Enea for a conversation on the SEC Network+ broadcast. He'll head to baseball next, where the No. 8 Gators take on LSU at 7 p.m. After delivering the first pitch at Florida Ballpark, Golden will stop by to visit with Dave Neal and Ben McDonald in the SEC Network booth.

The Florida Gators will take on the LSU Tigers in a Sunday rubber match. Florida won on Friday but got blown out by LSU last night. The Gators are looking to secure the series win today. First pitch is at 12pm EST. Lineups will be posted soon.

1. Same players a year later yet they look super organized and on the same page.
2. AR makes some sick throws, like NFL quality stuff. Today there were at least three dimes. While the other guys had their challenges, they are coming along. Miller is a cerebral guy, picking up the offense nicely, just doesn’t have the physical tools of the other guys. Del Rio, big improvement from last year.
3. Reynolds continues to make splash catches. He had another one today. Shorter is the best. Burke has the most upside but until he decides he wants to be great, he will just be a “guy”.
4. TE is an important component of this offense. We need more production. Even though they registered a TD near the end today.
5. RB’s have a ton of talent. Bowman can be special. Don’t sleep on the young transfer MJ either. He probably had his best day today.
6. Different OL have stepped up at different practices. Today our best was Tarquin.
7. DL worked a power drill today. Let’s just say Gervon is a freak. Cox vs a third teamer wasn’t pretty. Cox tossed him. McClellan continues to impress.
8. LB’s are just better. Think Bateman has a lot to do with it. Scooby super impressive. D. Black has instincts. Could have had his third pick six of spring today.
9. Marshall is solid. Johnson had what would have been a pick six today.
10. The entire atmosphere around the program is different. Everyone knows it and feels it. It’s amazing what this staff has done in such a short time.

Probably been about 7 or so years since I've stayed overnight in Gainesville. We'll be coming back from the Keys on the 9th and looking for a rec in case a reso is needed. I see some familiar names when looking on line but also some not so familiar. Town has changed dramatically from what I once knew.

Both the Utah and Indiana governors vetoed legislative bills to ban transgender women from competing in female sports across the state. But in Utah a legislative super majority over rode the veto to uphold the legislative ban. Good for them.

If a biological boy feels that they do not identify as a male and want to change their gender, that is their decision and so be it. But does that mean this tiny minority then gets to flip the entire biological female sports world on its head so they just compete for 2nd place because the transgender woman still has tremendous advantage having been born a biological boy.

Listen to Caitlyn Jenner who says transgender women competing in female sports is grossly unfair. She might have a good perspective.

It's a shame that when this issue comes before SCOTUS, the newest justice, you know the brilliant Harvard grad, won't even know what a woman is. Maybe she'll recuse.
