My Take: Billy Napier Press Conference

Billy Napier Press Conference – My Take

Notes from today's press conference caught my attention if you missed them.

13 day assessment period taking each individual player on the team going through assessment profile with each person and getting baseline numbers where they are at and where they can improve.

Phase one is January 18th, called "Foundation." Which is an act of establishing an organization.
A body upon which something is built. It's a basis on which something stands.

Each year you start the process over.

Each player is given a blank slate in new leadership roles and starts over with the new coaches.

10 lifts, 12 team runs, goal to build trust within the organization to establish communication.

Necessary to define self-discipline for the players and attention to detail, trying to create a structure and a routine, time management, and we want to establish expectations as a new way of operating here and establishing accountability.

Goals and objectives for all the development parts of our program.

The single MOST important thing he said today, in my opinion:

Vision without action is a dream. I don't know much, but I can tell you one thing for sure Billy Napier has a vision, and he is implementing his actions. His goal is to translate the vision for UF into simple everyday steps. The goal is to equip the players and create habits that will help them people, players, and students in all parts of their lives. You create a better future for yourself by doing these simple things.

He clearly gets an A+ from me as far as his message and steps he is taking to create this culture...

Fauci is a Liar

Not only did we pay to fund research, it looks like we helped build the damn lab itself via grants awarded by the NIAID.

Now I don't want to conspiracy theory, but line up the timing of these emails, the opening of the lab, and this prediction that Fauci made about the certainty of a Pandemic during Trump's presidency.

At the very least it looks fishy AF. The labs were likely under construction when he made this speculative proclamation about the Trump presidency.

December retail sales down 1.9%...

Fox Business just told me. Inflation is at a 40 year high.

Beijing Biden promised economic stagnation and higher crime rates in Democrat debates and he's delivering.

Thinking people enrage the slow by questioning 81 million Americans stupid enough to vote for this.

NavigatorII has made attempts to teach economics 101 but has failed to reach the board's BSC-level slow.

More stupid non Biden planning on "free" Covid home tests.

Thank God Trump got us the vaccine in less than a year. Can you imagine if boob Biden had been president when this started. We still wouldn't have a vaccine.

"Going into today, all we were focused on was being better than yesterday. The girls came out strong in singles play and I was extremely happy with the way they competed and looked on the court. We stress the importance of being able to handle adversity and creating positive self-talk, and I think as a unit we are making great strides in those areas. The team is really looking forward to ending tomorrow on a high note."

Couple of Things.....Recruiting + Team Notes

Yes, there will be a Billy Napier presser on Friday at 11:30AM. It will be streamed by UF on the YouTube CHN link below.

Also, I wanted to go over a quick recruiting piece of news. In the past, just about anyone that worked at UF had the luxury of extending the UF verbal offer out - no matter the class. It would then take a long time in some cases before the film ever made it to the head Gators desk. This is not uncommon - however, one thing I can confirm moving forward is ANY player that gets the UF verbal offer is someone that Billy Napier has watched either in person OR on tape. Florida is in the process of watching any former recruit with an offer and will go down the line and "RE" offer. They are also in the process of getting situated on some of the guys in the 2023 class.

As far as this weekend goes - ALL these dudes are READY for this UF OV experience. We do not know how Napier will handle things (Commits) Urban, Dan, Strong, Herman, any HC I have ever worked with has a different way of doing these things. The main thing to remember is 95% of how and when these things are released comes from the recruit/family. At times there can be "some" influence from the coaching staff - just depends on the situation and the recruit. Do not get discouraged if Sunday/Monday you do not see some kids go public. Most of the time, kids who wait this long take it all the way to NSD. Some coaches encourage kids to announce on NSD and all of the sudden you are the talk of the town on NSD. We just need to be patient and see how things unfold this weekend....

"I’ll be going with my parents, the expectations are pretty high with this being a high caliber program and we are really excited to see the program and get to know it more, I’m hoping to gain a deeper understanding of who UF truly is as a program and where they want to be in the future. I want to be able to get deep details when asking what their plan is for the near future and how they plan to get there."

"My mom, brother, sister, and grandpa will be making the trip with me. Really just trying to get to know the new staff more and the other commits. Yes, we are really excited every time we go up there. We do something new and have an amazing time. I hope to build a better relationship w everyone there before I officially step foot on campus. I want to find out how would I be use in the defensive scheme and have fun w my host n other players."

The team will start workouts/lifting together on January 18th - Ventrell Miller is still going through the rehab process but is doing great and will be fully ready by Spring ball.

Anthony Richardson believes he will be able to participate when they start on the 18th.

Jaydon Hill is doing great, started running and jumping and we should see him out there this Spring.

Interesting Possible Coaching Candidate?

No sources here but I decided to do some digging. It seems like Billy is hiring people that he has a past relationship with, for the most part at least. Idk if it was ever mentioned on here but Keary Colbert was a QC at Bama when Billy was the WR coach there. We have heard Rumph, Lupoi, Karl Scott and all of those guys have worked with Billy in the past. I believe only Corey Raymond and Henderson are the only coaches so far that don't have a previous relationship working with Billy.

A name I stumbled accross, and he is considered a rising star in the industry is, Aazar Abdul-Rahim. He is currently the defensive backs coach at Boston College and was promoted to Associate Head Coach and defensive pass game coordinator. Previously he was the defensive coordinator at UMass. He worked with Billy at Alabama in 2014-2015 when he served as an analyst in 2014 and was then promoted to the Asst. Director of Player Personnel in 2015. DJ Durkin hired him away to be his DB coach at Maryland, where he did some work on the trail. I've read he is a candidate to interview for Notre Dame DC spot which would essentially be a Co-DC because of Freeman running the show. Toney is flexible and can coach ILB, bring in Abdul-Rahim to work with safeties/Co-DC title. He is known as a recruiter, etc..

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up hiring another QC from the time Billy was at Bama, it is just impossible to find those QC coaching lists anywhere. Maybe Abdul-Rahim meets the criteria. Just spit ballin.
