Football Why is there a fact or fiction article about Billy saving his job on tMB?

With Jason saying it's a fact that Billy can save his job but the video preview is no where to be seen on this site? Does Jason simply not want that smoke of supporting Billy or is there a larger conspiracy afoot? Usually there would be a pinned thread on this site about that article, which I don't see either.

Here is the link to the article in case you missed it:

Football NFL Dynamic Kickoff Rule, after week 1, do you like it?

I do. It adds an element of strategy for the kickoff team: do we bury it in the endzone and bring it out to the 30, or kick into the landing zone where it has to be returned? The positions of the players are weird but there were more returns this weekend that weekends last year and one went to the house. It is going to be wild on a safety kick. The kicking teams players have to be on the LOS but they can't move until the receiver touches the ball. That return dude is going to have a full head of steam when the reaches the opposing players because they are lined up much further from the receiver than on a kick off.
Only bummer is there are no surprise on-side kicks. The opposing team has to be notified and it must be in the fourth quarter. But looking back I imagine 99 % of NFL onside kicks are in the 4th quarter and everybody knows it's coming.
The NFL has finally come up with a fun rule IMO

I made a comment to some friends I was sitting with last night. Middle of the 4th quarter, after what we’ve experienced the last four years, not to mention last week, and the number of fans still in the stadium, because fans were actually excited to see the offense go out for another possession. It was 10 PM, not an afternoon game like they had in Oxford. Fans just want some hope again!

Football Karma and decisions in Jax

First of all the Karma. Has Etienne the elder been demoted to second string? He and Bixby had the same number of carries, Etienne had 44 yds and Bixby 73 yds. But the kicker is Etienne was on his way for a touchdown to make it a 17 point lead for Jax. Etienne fumbled on the three into the endzone, the next play was Tua to Tyreek Hill for 80 yds and then Miami was down by 3 instead of 17.
But the biggest bonehead decision of the day, year, decade in the NFL (IMO) was in the fourth quarter, Jax had a 3 point lead on their own 32 early in the 4th quarter and went for it on 4th and one. Etienne runs around the left which is blocked, reverses field and is a tackled for a loss. Ball to the Dolphins who kick a tying field goal. And Jax goes on to lose the game. I wonder what the reaction is in Jaguar world right now?

Football Time to Lighten Things up and Have Some Fun

I just finished lunch with two other passionate Gator fans. We went to UF in the '80's. We were trying to figure out how Billy could keep his job and also what we think he should do.

To keep his job, let DJ play the entire game this week and then alternate him and Mertz the rest of the season. Play the young RB's more and turn the keys of the offense over to Russ Calloway. If he did all of those things and we won 5-6 games, I think we could stomach that.

On a more creative side, Billy's buyout is $26M through 2028 or basically $6.5M a year. I say we go back to some of our retread coaches who were good at one side of the ball. Give Mullen $3.5M to be the OC and Muschamp $3M to be the DC. We would break even with the buyout and Billy could recruit and be the CEO. We would have a great OC and DC and all Gators would be smiling. Dan and Will may like to make that kind of money without the headaches of being a head coach.

Thoughts and try to keep it light... This is to be fun!

If you cannot fire Napier at end of 24….

….(pick your reason why), you: a) fire Stricklin and b) go hire a hot shot OC/QB coach for a fraction of the cost and tell Napier that if he doesn’t like it, he can resign and forgo his buyout.

For two years, I have said that Napier needs to be a CEO and not an OC and that he has been mediocre at best since Clemson. We have seen that prove to be true.

If you get Lane, then disregard, but part of our issue here is that there are not a lot of great candidates and you have a ridiculous buyout.

If the OC is all that, then he can replace Napier after 1-2 years. If he’s all that than Napier can focus on the thousand other things that weigh on a modern HC.

The key difference here is telling Napier versus suggesting. And firing SS to show that lack of results and poor contracts have consequences.

Football Big Dez...

The guy is just a liability. I root for him but to see him out there over 400 pounds and he looks about as strong as a 110lb man. It's embarrassing. Plus I notice how he never is on the ground. He refuses to push his weight around and will not go onto the ground. I think he plays soft because he's afraid to fall to the ground. He should be pancaking every pile

Football Question about Punt Return

For any experts. On our punt return setup I noticed Pyburn and another guy a few yards behind the line on scrimmage. Are they allowed to hit the Long Snapper once he breaks through the line of scrimmage. A few times yesterday I noticed guys running right by Jack but I wasn't sure if he was allowed to block them or not as they are running down the field.
