What would it take?

Definitely in now. Excellent 2nd half. Even when the shots weren't falling, the guys continued playing hard. Thought poor free throw shooting might do us in and that Naz Reid guy is great. But the good guys prevailed. I have to admit, the team surprised me the last month. Just hope Locke can get healthy enough to contribute in the tourney. We need his outside shooting badly and you could tell he's been laboring. Shooting only about 20% from the 3 throw arc the last 7-8 games. Anyway, great win.

The last two games is the first time Iv'e ever felt the experience similar to a Kentucky fan getting some favorable calls and whistles, we were only even in the game from how First half went and into the final stretch from the fouls that slowed it down and slowly chipped out at end, we shot more than double their FT's at the line 26 to 11.. That whole 6 point play shenanigans possession that ended up probably what got us over the edge, and their coach got irate as he probably deserved to from the dead ball 3 going down a hair after the foul on floor and then 4 free throws. Those are the calls we never get, and we hardly ever hit game winning shots like that at end, and this team in particular is lucky to ever even get one off in the air towards basket at the end of halves. Way the last two games in Tournament were officiated Definitely helped our pace and the way the games went, gonna need more of that to win beyond this point though.

UF 76 - 73 LSU SEC-C :p

Incompetent Mike White is 2-1 vs LSU without 3 of his post players...

Finally making some good biscuits and gravy.

1. NIT - Quarter Finals
2. Elite 8, SEC CoY
3. Rnd of 32
4. SEC Tourney Quarter Finals, plue the Dance invite soon.

Finally, rval trolls and other village idiots, are now in full retreat....

After our previous matchup with LSU in Gainesville, at least one LSU player mocked the Gator chomp toward the fans. I say F*** the corndog coaches, players, fans and AD Joe Alleva. The SEC took away our annual footbal matchup with Auburn back in 2003, well I sure as hell hope the corndogs stay on our football schedule every season.

NIT Quarterfinals

put up the banner

That's in his 1st season at UF after taking over a 16-17 LOSER team.

Please post all of the UF (or even SEC) coaches that have done better in their 1st 4 seasons at an SEC school. o_O

Hayes is a sweet dude. Appreciate him
But he’s tragically bad and Hudson is literally a walking turnover

This freshman class (healthy Gak/Stokes) plus Mann and Lewis = final 4 contender

Turnovers killed us. Auburn had 3 we had 19 I think. They shot their 3's really well, but we shot extremely well from the field. The difference was simply poor ball handling, especially in the 2nd half. Very sloppy. But it appears we're in the NCAA tournament, so that's something.

Turnovers was the difference in the ball game. Simple as that. It was like 19 to 3.
I agree totally. 20-4 turnover differential is what I just read. And that was the key statistic. We outrebounded them 30-15 and was 23-37 from the field. But they took 20 more shots and were 25-57 from the field. We were 6-14 from 3, they were 13-30. Hayes played really hard and scored a lot for him, plus added 12 rebounds, but he had several turnovers, whether they charged them to him or not. Just weak hands and a couple of times when Nembhard made a nice pass to him under the basket and he wasn't paying attention and the ball just bounced away. Hudson just dribbled the ball away several times and the team as a whole was just very sloppy with the ball, especially the 2nd half.

Yes Agreed. I think fatigue may have set in. We haven’t been getting much from the bench lately.

Auburn took 20 more shots. That is why Florida had many more rebounds.

It was also a foul at the end of the game. I would just argue it was before the shot. Bruce Pearl admitted after the game that Auburn wanted to foul at the end of the game, but they wanted to foul before Florida shot. I would argue at least one Auburn player first made contact while he was still dribbling

Florida should have shot one and one free throws at the end...not three free throws like the announcer said

SEC refs do look bad in that situation when Bruce Pearl says Auburn was intentionally trying to foul Florida before they shot, yet no foul of any kind was called

Pearl actually said they waited until he was shooting. He should have been shooting 3. We were frankly very fortunate to be in the game at that point, but it’s too bad because that was a bad play by auburn and a smart play by Nembhard. He threw that shot up because he knew they were going to foul him. Unfortunately, the refs didn’t understand the situation and thought it was a desperation shot, so they swallowed the whistle.

It was a good game plan by White. He knew turnovers were a given, so he took the air out of the ball to keep the score low. Nembhard made a play at the end to give us a shot at OT but the refs didn’t know what was going on.

Official stats show we had 19 turnovers today, 5 by Hayes, 4 each by Hudson & Nembhard and 3 by Allen. Only 11 assists.

Hayes at 6-9 is leaving UF as UF's #2 All Time Shot Blocker, behind only 7-2 Dwayne. o_O
Considering that he's been forced to play center as an light weight 6-9 PF, I think that he's done very well indeed.

Next season, the Gators should be loaded in the post, IF all goes well between now and then.

PF Keith Stone 6-8 253 rsSr (get helathy, get in better shape, lose 10 Lbs)

C Gorjok Gak 6-11 254 rsJr (get healthy, get in better shape, lose 10 Lbs)

PF/CDontay bassett 6-9 237 rsJr (just needs to continue to progress)

PF Isaiah Stokes 6-8 260 rsSo (get in better shape, lose 10-15 more Lbs)

C/PF Omar Payne 6-10 220 Fr **** (get ready to run) 38/50 rating and a dunk/block specialist. ;)

The only thing that sadgator knows for sure is that Johnson is a straight-up, kick-ass, dunk on your head and steal your girlfriend mf’er...

We are blessed to have that dude...

Really hope he gets to show his skills in the NCAA’s...

sadgator is going to be waiting with baited breath...

Locke
Nehmbard
And Johnson

Are all big timers

When Locke Gets healthy, he’ll be like Mike Frazier, if Mike Frazier could dribble and create on his own.

That’d be ok. Would keep us away from a #1 seed on the first weekend.

We aren’t a “scary” team by any stretch of the imagination. However, we are a “tough” team in that we just don’t quit.

Every game down the stretch it seems like they took incremental baby steps forward toward putting things together. sadgator suspects a 7 wouldn’t be thrilled to see us.

That said, sadgator has a feeling that we are headed to Dayton (or are out altogether)...it just really feels that way...

We are definitely “in”. It’s just a matter of where and what seed. I would say a #10 seed is a safe bet.

Welcome to the Mike White & TEAM Band Wagon.

BTW, I've been the driver for quite some time now. o_O

PS

Been telling ya bout the 2018-19 Freshmen all season, and about the incoming 2019-20 Freshmen that will soon be joining them.... SWEET!

Considering all the negatives around this team (injuries, subpar play from seniors, inconsistencies from game to game), it is an accomplishment to get into the tourney as a #10. Overall a disappointing season, but I'm hoping they can pull off an upset or two. Always pull for our athletes and coaches, no matter the sport or the circumstances.

Good draw for us

We are gonna beat Nevada

Let’s see who shows up
For the Michigan game!
Really? Nevada was ranked top 10 much of the season and is veteran, savvy and has tourney experience. They only had 4 losses all season, they should be a 4 seed.

ashenesey is a troll...just sayin’...

Nevada is a tough draw for us. They would have been a 4-5 seed if they hadn't slipped up in their conference semi-finals.

We'll see what happens but if we get by them we might have a chance for a Sweet 16.

Auburn and Miss state are in the bracket too

They haven’t beat anyone. They’re probably third out of 4 of the 7 seed I’d want to play but whatever. Game will probably be a coin flip. They might give a couple points. What do you want as a 10 seed?
