“Having been through what we’ve gone through, being at the top,” he said. “Had some really nice jobs at the top. It’s like you’re not chasing those things anymore. I’m thinking more about my family than me chasing my goals. I’m thinking about them now.”

When the topic of Florida State came up, Taggart made clear he had no lingering bitterness. Taggart said that at age 43, his primary emotion is gratitude that he could return to becoming a head coach so quickly. He said he expects Mike Norvell to do a good job at FSU.

“We played a lot a freshmen and sophomores,” Taggart said. “I think they’re going to do a good job. I just didn’t have enough time to do it. But I think they’ll do a good job. I’m not bitter. It is what it is. I do think when changing the culture the way that we wanted to change it, it takes time. Unfortunately, we didn’t get that time. I’m happy now where I’m at. I’m happy and excited, and really excited to get rolling.”......

“I think I got away from it, that’s probably what hurt me,” he said. “Everywhere we’ve been that we’ve had success, I’ve called the plays. I got away from that at Florida State. And so, if there’s anything different, I may get more involved. I got away from it. That wasn’t me. It didn’t work.”

I honestly think he should have been given more time. It takes at least 2 or 3 decades with a guy like Willie T to get his stuff going and let his teams reach their potentials. FSU was just too impatient. I also believe that Mark Richt wasn't given long enough at Bozo-U. The jorts should have given him at least another decade or two before firing him and sending him off to die at Da U.

Yes, we're very well aware. Look at our offensive numbers sans you plus Briles.

Best thing about the change was that Briles is out. His offense gives me nightmares. Will never understand why Taggart decided to not allow him to practice his offense and only allow him to run it in games. Don't know if he was trying to get himself fired or was really that stupid. Because to run a different offense in games than you do in practice, that is a level of stupid never before seen.

Absolutely. In fact, I don’t think that’s long enough. I say he should have been given a lifetime contract, and cloning technology should have been developed that would create identical copies of him so that if there hasn’t to be an f$u football program, he can always be the head coach. He had them headed in the right direction, and I was anxiously looking forward to seeing where he got them ultimately. Hopefully norvell can live up to the Willie standard.

Didn't Richt resign abruptly, honestly don't think they would have let Diaz go to Temple if they had plans to fire Richt.

I actually didnt mind his play calling but preferred briles to him. He mad way too many mistakes as HC. Disorganization and pissing off recruits were top of that list. Also... Nvr signing a HS QB? Tf? Nirvell has been here 10 days and signed 2 HS QBs.

FSU job was too big for him. He might do ok at FAU. Of course I thought Charlie Strong would kill it at USF and that was a disaster.

I didn't say he got fired at Miami, I know he quit that job of his own volition. It was Georgia that didn't give him enough time to get his players in there and work in the system. If you can't give a nice guy like Mark Richt enough time to develop his players to their fullest potential, you could just end up with a merry go round of circus clowns you call 'head coach' like at Tennessee. Or even worse, you could go 40 straight years without a national championship and nowhere close to one in the future either.
